Durch kontinuierliche Korrosionsschutzpflege lassen sich aufwändige Sanierungsmaßnahmen vermeiden. Denn regelmäßige Instandhaltung der Stahlbauteile verlängert die Lebens­
dauer des Bauwerks und ist über die gesamte Nutzungsdauer
gesehen sehr viel kostengünstiger als eine Komplettbehandlung bei einer zerstörten Beschichtung.
Seit Jahrzehnten beteiligt sich Sika maßgeblich an der Entwicklung neuer Systeme für den zeitgemäßen Korrosionsschutz
von Stahlbrücken. Alle Regelwerke und technischen Liefer­
bedingungen werden beachtet sowie die Produktqualifikationen für die einzelnen Anwendungsbereiche durch externe,
z. T. staatliche Prüfzeugnisse nachgewiesen.
Continuous corrosion protection can prevent expensive
­restoration. Regular maintenance of steel com­ponents extends
the service life of the structure and is far more c­ ost-effective
throughout the life cycle than a complete overhaul in the case
of a damaged coating.
For decades, Sika has played a significant role in the development of new systems for contemporary corrosion protection
of steel bridges. All regulations and technical delivery ­conditions
are observed and the product qualifications for the i­ndividual
applications are verified by external, partly national test
­certificates.

Sika Industrial Coatings provide practical and durable corrosion

Interior coatings are used for silos, containers, pipes and steel
collecting tanks in the chemicals industry. Sika offers a multitude of specific products for tanks and containers with the most
various filling materials – flammable liquids, aggressive chemicals, waste water from industrial applications and communes,

perioden von 20 bis 25 Jahren und unter extremen Bedingungen wie Dauerwasserbelastung in
Meeres­athmosphäre, extreme Temperaturschwankungen und vieles mehr, muss die Lebensdauer
von Korrosionsschutzbeschichtungen hier besonders hoch sein.
THE FUTURE OF WIND POWER GERATION LIES IN THE OFFSHORE AREA. With Manganines
­periods of 20 to 25 years, the lifetime of the corrosion protection coatings must be particularly high,
even under extreme conditions like permanent water zone in marine environments, extreme temperature variations and much more.

Doch Holz ist auch leicht entflammbar und erfordert daher besonders in öffentlich zugänglichen
­Gebäuden wirksame Schutzmaßnahmen.
THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF WOOD makes it a building material with a multitude of uses. However,
it is easily flammable and requires effective means of protection especially when used in public
­buildings.
Eine richtig dimensionierte Holzkonstruktion kann Feuer länger
standhalten als man denkt. Mit Sika® Pyroplast® lässt sich
die Entflammung der Oberfläche und die Brandweiterleitung
verhindern oder verzögern. Sika® Pyroplast® ist eine Brandschutzbeschichtung, die einfach durch Streichen oder Spritzen
aufgetragen wird und transparent oder pigmentiert eingesetzt
werden kann. Sie trägt kaum spürbar auf und wirkt sich daher
nicht negativ auf die ästhetische Wirkung der Holzkonstruktion
aus. Dabei hat sie genau die Eigenschaften, die ein frühzeitiges
Entflammen und die rasche Ausbreitung des Brandes verhindern können.
A correctly dimensioned wooden construction can withstand
fire for longer than is thought. Sika® Pyroplast® can inhibit
or delay inflammation on the surface and the spread of flame.
Sika® Pyroplast® is a fire protection coating which is simply
painted or sprayed on to the wood either in a transparent or
­pigmented form. Although the coating is so thin it does not
­conceal the natural beauty of the wood it nevertheless has
­exactly the properties to prevent the wood from burning
too soon and also inhibits the rapid spread of flame.
So the Load-bearing function of the overall structure is
­maintained longer.

BESONDERS IN GEBÄUDEN MIT HOHEM TECHNISIERUNGSGRAD bilden die dortigen Kabel­bäume
eine erhebliche Brandgefahr. Nicht selten wirken sie wie Zündschnüre.
PARTICULARLY IN BUILDINGS WITH A HIGH DEGREE OF MECHANISATION, the associated cable
harnesses represent a considerable fire risk. They often act like fuses.
Außerdem entstehen beim Abbrand große Mengen gesundheitsschädlicher und korrosionsfördernder Gase, verbunden mit
einer erheblichen Rauchentwicklung. Eine Kabel-Brandschutzbeschichtung ist für Feuer ein unüberwindliches Hindernis.
In addition, their combustion releases large quantities of gases
that are both hazardous to health and corrosive, in conjunction
with considerable development of smoke. A cable fire protection
coating is an insurmountable obstacle for fires.
Ebenso wie Stahl brennt Beton nicht und gehört zu den Baustoffen der Klasse A. Allerdings führt der beim Brand ent­
stehende hohe Wärmeeintrag zu einer Reduzierung von Festigkeit und Steifigkeit des Betons, so dass es zu explosiven Abplatzverhalten vor allem bei hochfesten Betonmischungen bis
zum Kollabieren der Konstruktion kommen kann.
Wesentlich für die Standdauer eines Gebäudes ist die Beeinflussung der Wärmeleitfähigkeit auf die Tragfähigkeit des
­Baustoffes. Dieser ist bei Beton wesentlich geringer als bei
­reinen Stahlkonstruktionen.
Like steel, concrete does not burn and belongs to the Class-A
building materials. However, the high input of heat resulting
from the fire leads to a reduction in the strength and rigidity
of the concrete. That causes explosive spalling also for high
strength concrete mixtures up to the collapses of the entire
­construction.
A major factor in the service life of a building is the influence
of the thermal conductivity on the load-bearing capacity of the
building material. This is significantly lower for concrete than
in the case of pure steel constructions.
