This does vary regionally, however, rising to almost 10 % in Europe where there is a large, established dairy industry, high per capita consumption of dairy products and a significant number of countries involved, and falling to just 4 % in Asia. The global dairy industry is continuing to be highly active in terms of new product development, despite growing concentration in the market and difficulties such as supply issues, external pricing pressures and limited profit margins potentially inhibiting growth opportunities. With its high level of competition, it is inevitable that the sector’s search for novelty and differentiation will continue to encourage many producers to find as many product benefits as possible to appeal to an increasingly demanding and discerning consumer. It is essential that these benefits should be clearly expressed and seen to add real value to the products if the sector’s relatively strong recent performance is to continue. Einen weiteren spannenden Trend bildet „A Fresh Look at Frozen“ ab. Food Safety. Transparency. The Federal Association of the German Retail Grocery Trade (Bundesverband desDeutschen Lebensmittelhandels e.V., BVLH) and its partners will be present atAnuga 2015 at the BVLH Retail Forum. This year’s motto is “Sustainability. FoodSafety. Transparency”. The BVLH will show the multiple facets of the food tradeand various theme-related solutions proposed by several organizations. In 2015 the BVLH’s presentation will focus on the mobile food trade. Mobile grocers (“supermarkets on wheels”) are organized in a trade association called “Mobile Points of Sale”within the BVLH. They play an important part in the local food supply in rural areas. At the Retail Forum the BVLH will present a food truck that illustrates to visitors how a full range of more than 2,000 articles may be placed in a sales area of less than 10 square meters. The Food Academy and the Food Hotel will be present at the Retail Forum, too. The BVLH is the main shareholder of this leading educational institution of the food trade. Its presentation at Anuga once again demonstrates the great importance of highly qualified professionals. Sustainability is once more one of the key issues dealt with by the Retail Forum.
