3-day Hut Hike
Kneipp-experience Village Scheffau
The hiking guides at the Wilder Kaiser take you on
the very best tours and to the most charming mountain huts in the area – every day from Monday to
Friday, in all weathers. There are a number of hikes
including one with a traditional hut breakfast, a
summit tour, torch-lit walks, a “herb hike” and many more
besides. Participation is free for holders of a Guest Card.

The three-day trek on the south side of the Wilder Kaiser
is one of the most spectacular multi-day walks in Tyrol.
This tour is perfect for the beginning of the hiking season
as the huts are already open at the end of May. The delightful route takes you from Going to the Gaudeamushütte, then on to the Hintersteinersee Lake and back into
the valley via the Walleralm on the third day. For experienced hikers we recommend the Alpine variant with the
Scheffauer summit being the highpoint.

created along an idyllic loop trail not far from
the village. Five times a week, Chris, the Kneipp trainer, will

The Wilder Kaiser is one of the most historic climbing mountains in Austria. The climbing gardens
Achleiten, Multerkarwand and the Schleier Waterfall (the famous “Huber Buam” brothers also
train here) and numerous bouldering spots around
the Gaudeamushütte are a magnet for young
climbers. Veterans, on the other hand, tend to prefer the
more classic routes in solid rock. Beginners can have a go
at rock climbing as part of the weekly activity programme.

The Hintersteinersee Lake is one of the cleanest mountain lakes in Tyrol. A reflection of the Wilder Kaiser is clear
to see on its surface. After a hike in the Kaiser Mountains,
you can recharge your batteries with a refreshing dip and

The bathing lake in Going is fed by natural springs and, despite the clear mountain water, warms up to 24 degrees.
The adventure playground with slides and water spirals, as
well as the four beach volleyball courts, will keep kids and

long slides and diving tower. Romantics are charmed by the

The theme parks set high up in the mountains can
be reached on foot or by cable car and are linked by
a network of hiking paths. Tip: With the Kitzbühel
Alps Summer Card, you can make use of 29 cable cars and lifts and enjoy up to 50% discount at
swimming pools and other tourist destinations.
Climbing is the focus of our children’s activity programme.
Activities such as trial rock climbing, canyoning and tackling a “via ferrata” (climbing route) are coordinated and
can also be booked individually. Adventurous parents are
welcome to join in with their children.

from as early as April. Our golf hotels will be
happy to reserve your tee-off times for you.
You can also play at the 9-hole Mühlberghof golf course in

The popular Austrian-German TV series, “Der Bergdoktor” (the mountain doctor), is filmed at the Wilder Kaiser. Peter Moser runs film walks six times throughout the
summer, where you can visit the original filming locations
and hear his anecdotes about filming the show. On the Söll
film tour, a vintage tractor takes you to the home of the
famous mountain doctor (the Gruberhof).

At the Wilder Kaiser, the day doesn’t end with dinner! Concerts by music groups in traditional costume bring an authentic Tyrolean flair to the village centres. At the popular
Village Evenings - Tuesdays in Ellmau, Wednesdays in
Söll and Thursdays in Scheffau - you can stroll around,
try some local specialities and buy your souvenirs. Five
times in the summer, Going’s picturesque village square
turns into an arts and crafts market with lace makers,
clog makers, wood carvers and much more.
With over 90 cable cars and lifts, the SkiWelt
Wilder Kaiser-Brixental ski resort, is the biggest
ski area in Austria – not forgetting multi-awardwinning too!
