GERMAN SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
This award was donated to the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature by
Gladys Oney Griffen, the mother of retired Professor of German, Dr. Toby Griffen. The
award is $1,000 payable over two semesters.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 15, 2008
Requirements:
1. Declared Majors preferred, minors considered.
2. Preference is given to applicants who are not from a German-speaking
household.
3. Submit a one-page double-spaced essay on the following topic.
“Warum ich mich für Deutsch and das Deutschstudium interessiere…”
4. Also include a résumé, a transcript, and a list of the courses (with grades that
you have taken in German.
5. All parts of application should be typed.
