Weitere Informationen
Andreas Wittmer, Dr.oec.HSG, (1973) is Managing
Director of the Center for Aviation Competence. He
has studied a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration degree at the Aarhus School of
Business in Denmark and visited the University of
Newcastle for an exchange semester. Furthermore,
he finished a Master of Science in Finance and
International Business degree at the Aarhus School
of Business in Denmark and visited Université Libre
de Bruxelles for one exchange semester. During his
studies he worked as market research consultant
for a Danish research company and as student
employee at the Economics Institute of the Aarhus
School of Business. After finishing his studies, he
decided to do a doctoral degree about the influence
of cultures on internal services at the Institute for
Public Services and Tourism at the University of St.
Gallen. He was employed as research associate at
the Institute for Public Services and Tourism during
his dorctoral studies. Furthermore, he visited the
Australian Graduate School of Management at the
University of New South Wales in Sydney and the
National University of Singapore each for a
semester where he collected data for his doctoral
research. Just at the right time after his doctoral
studies he decided to start up the Center for
Aviation Competence at the University of St. Gallen
together with Prof. Dr. Roland Müller, who initiated
it.
With 17 years he got the glider's license and took
part in many national and international
championships thereafter. During four years, he

was team captain of the Swiss National Gliding
Team and accompanied the team to two European
and two World Gliding Championships. In Spring
2005 he was elected Vice President of the Eastern
Swiss Aero Club Organisation, where he became
President as of Spring 2006 until Spring 2010. In
July 2010 he has been elected President of the
Swiss Aerospace Cluster.
