Dear parents, globegarden friends and interested readers,
In January we all came back from our holidays and had lots to share! We
heard how the others had passed Christmas and were happy to tell them
what we had experienced. January passed under the theme of sharing past
memories and looking forward to new adventures we’re going to get into in
2013. An exciting new year has begun!

From our globegarden…………….…………………………
Theme of the Month
After having spent Christmas and New Year’s Eve with our families and absent from globegarden, the
first few days of January were spent by getting used to spending the days with our globegarden friends
again. We used many different crafts materials to show the others what we had seen and heard.
In January we also delved into the subject of winter. Our Little Picassos took a trip to the forest and
were very excited about all the fog blocking our view. What can we still see and hear? Our Little Mozarts
on the other hand made interesting experiments with water and ice and visited a very icy fountain in
Zurich. But we also talked about the other seasons and played the 4 seasons game. Do you know how
to distinguish a picture of summer from a picture of autumn? We do!
Discovering Day
Our Little Picassos visited a public
library for a story time. We simply love
going to the library! There are so many
things to observe: the many books, the
nice librarians and all the other people
and kids!
Our
Little
Mozarts
meanwhile
discovered what they are really good at.
We sat in a circle and showed each
other what different movements we’re
able
to
make.
We
saw
many
“Bürzelböim” and had a lot of fun!
Trip of the Month
Our Trip of the Month led us to the dentist. We visited the dentist’s office of one of our kids mum, the
Zahnärzte Wiedikon in Zentralstrasse 2. Mrs. Fatori was very nice, told us a story and looked at our
teeth. And we even got a great present so that our teeth stay healthy! By the way, did you know that all

the globegarden parents and kids get 10% off for dental treatments there?
Another trip took us to a home for the elderly.
We showed them our favourite toys and
performed a dance. It was a very nice trip.
Idea of the Month
Our Idea of the Month was not just to talk about
our western New Year, but also about the
Chinese one! We looked at the Chinese
calendar and saw that it is quite different from
ours! We also talked about the animals that
represent the years. Did you know that the year
of the dragon is now over and that the year of the snake has started? We made Chinese snakes and
dragon masks to dance with them while we listened to the curious Chinese music. What a great Idea of
the Month!

3. März 2013: Eidgenössische Volksabstimmung über den Bundesbeschluss über die
Familienpolitik
Das Netzwerk Kinderbetreuung, dem globegarden neben weiteren grossen Trägern wie dem
Arbeitgeberkrippenverband angehört, informiert unter www.ja-zur-familie.ch über die Abstimmung vom
3. März 2013 über den neuen Verfassungsartikel für Familienpolitik.

Pro Familia Schweiz hat eine Kampagne lanciert um die Abstimmungsvorlage zu unterstützen.
