Miss Concordia für das
Jahe 2009. Lori hat sich
als einmalige Vertreterin
des Concordia Klubs bewiesen und es hat
immer Spaß gemacht, mit ihr zusammen zu
arbeiten. Wir hoffen, Lori, dass Du dich
weiterhin aktiv im Concordia Klub betätigen wirst, denn unsere jüngeren Mitglieder
sind ja schließlich die Zukunft und wichtig
für das Fortbestehen unseres Klubs. Lori,
wir wünschen Dir alles Gute für die weitere
Zukunft und mögen alle Deine Wünsche in
Erfüllung gehen!
Unser Osterbrunch hatte wieder großen
Anklang gefunden und beide Sitzungen
waren ausverkauft. Unser Dank geht an Chef
Andreas und seine Mitarbeiter, die wie
immer ausgezeichnete Arbeit geleistet haben. Dabei möchte ich euch alle schon im
Voraus erinnern, für Muttertag rechtzeitig
Reservierungen zu machen wenn ihr keine
Enttäuschung erleben wollt, denn auch
dieser Tag ist immer schnell ausverkauft.
Am Freitag, den 9. April veranstaltete unser
Chor Direktor, Herr Dr. Alfred Kunz, wieder
seine alljährliche “All Choirs Night” zu
welchem viele Chöre aus unserer näheren
Umgebung eingeladen waren. Wie immer
war dieser Abend ein voller Erfolg und
Angela und ich danken Alfred noch einmal
für seine Einladung. Wir haben diesen
Abend schon immer voll genossen und
freuen uns auch auf das Sängerfest in
Windsor; wir sind sicher, dass unsere Chöre
wieder ihr Bestes geben werden und der
Klub auf sie stolz sein wird.
Unsere Frauengruppe hat wie üblich ein
erfolgreiches Bockbierfest veranstaltet. Das
ist eine Gruppe, der es nicht schwerfällt,
unsere große Halle zu füllen. Wir danken

nicht über den Präsidentenball berichten,
denn mein Bericht für April mußte schon
vorher eingereicht werden. Nun kann ich
aber mitteilen, dass es ein voller Erfolg war;
das Wetter spielte uns diesmal keinen

Information zum Konsularsprechtag
Am 18. Mai 2010 zwischen 12.00 und 19.00 Uhr und am 19. Mai
2010 zwischen 8.30 und 12.00 Uhr und zwischen 13.00 und 16.00
Uhr findet im Concordia Club in Kitchener, 429 Ottawa Street South,
ein Konsularsprechtag des Deutschen Generalkonsulats Toronto
statt. Bei großer Nachfrage werden wir auch am 20. Mai 2010 zwischen 8.30 Uhr und 16.00 Uhr für Sie da sein.
Wir bieten folgende konsularische Dienstleistungen an:
• Annahme von Passanträgen (nur nach Terminvereinbarung)

Achtung: Was wir NICHT leisten können:

Streich und die große Halle war vollkommen ausverkauft. Einige eingeladene Gäste
konnten nicht mitmachen und wollten
gerne wissen, warum dieser Abend immer
während des “Spring Breaks” abgehalten
wird. Ich muss zugeben, daß dies ein gutes
Argument ist und habe auch schon mehrmals versucht, das Datum dafür zu ändern.
Es scheint mir gelungen zu sein, daß der
Präsidentenball für das Jahe 2011 nicht
wieder mit dem “Spring Break” zusammen
fallen wird! Mein Dank geht wieder an das
Vergnügungskomittee, das für die Dekoration der Halle verantwortlich war und wie
immer einen super Job geleistet hat. Es war
uns möglich, einen Scheck von $ 3,000.00
an das “Mennonite Central Committee” zu
überreichen - unsere Stiftung zur Erdbebenhilfe in Haiti. Unsere Gruppen hatten $
1,500.00 gesammelt und der Vorstand des
Klubs hatte versprochen, uns daran zum
gleichen Betrag zu beteiligen. Im Namen des
Vorstandes möchte ich mich noch einmal
bei allen Gruppen bedanken, die dazu
beigetragen haben.
Der Präsidentenball ist für mich immer ein
“Arbeitsabend” und es ist dann meine
Pflicht, mich besonderen Gästen zu widmen, wie z.B. Regierungsmitglieder und
Politikern. Ich hoffe ihr versteht das und es
tut mir leid, wenn ich mich nicht so gut um
unsere Mitglieder kümmern konnte, wie ich
es gern möchte.
Am 1. Mai ist die offizelle Eröffnung unserer Farm Saison und wer zur Farm kommt,
wird dann auch feststellen können, was
sich seit letztem Jahr verändert hat. Wir sind
immer noch dabei, unserer Farm legalen
Status zu geben. Die Behörden wollten noch

Steve, Peter und Bob sind dabei, sie zu befriedigen. Alle Campers, die noch Verbesserungen machen müssen, sind benachrichtigt
worden, wann sie damit fertig sein müssen.
Arbeiten, die nicht rechtzeitig ausgeführt
sind, werden dann vom Klub erledigt und
der Camper erhält dafür eine Rechnung. Wir
können es uns einfach nicht leisten, noch
ein weiteres Jahr zu verschwenden nur weil
es einige gibt, die sich nicht an alle
vorgeschriebenen Regeln halten wollen. Wir
- aber auch die Behörden - würden es gern
sehen, daß unser Projekt endlich zum
Abschluß kommt.
Eine Organisation namens “Canadians for
Genocide Education” - zu der fast 50 verschiedene Gruppen gehören, einschließlich
des Deutsch Kanadischen Kongresses - veranstaltete im März dieses Jahres die 7.
“annual Genocide Memorial Week”. Der
Grund dafür ist, alle Menschen dieser Welt
darauf aufmerksam zu machen, wie Menschenrechte immer wieder vernachlässigt
werden, wenn es um rassiche oder ethnologische Fragen geht. Durch den Deutsch
Kanadischen Kongreß - besonders aber
durch die Bemühugen von Ernst Friedel
und Tony Bergmeier - wurde eine Vorlesung
arrangiert unter dem Namen: “Die Ausweisung aller Deutschen aus dem östlichen

Europa nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg” Professor Dr. Alfred de Zayas ist eine Authorität über “ethnologische Säuberung” der
deutschen Zivilbevölkerung in den Jahren
1945 bis 1947. Dr. De Zayas hielt Vorträge
darüber in der Universität Waterloo und der
Universität Toronto. An beiden Universitäten waren die Hörsäle überfüllt. Ich
möchte mich bei allen unseren Mitgliedern
bedanken, die sich entweder hier in
Waterloo oder in Toronto daran beteiligt
hatten. Die Bemühungen des DKK sind sehr
zu würdigen, da es sicher nicht einfach ist,
ein Thema wie “ethnologische Säuberung
der deutschen Bevölkerung” zur Sprache zu
bringen! Wir danken Euch, Ernst und Tony.
Für den Monat Mai sind wieder allerhand
Aktivitäten geplant und ich hoffe, viele von
euch in diesem Monat im Klub oder auf der
Farm begrüßen zu können.

President’s Report
Congratulations to Kristen Storer, our new
Miss Concordia for the year 2010! May
Kristen’s reign be a happy one, and leave
her with many treasured memories. Our
thanks once again to Lori Artinger, our outgoing Miss for 2009. Lori proved to be
another outstanding Ambassador for the
Concordia Club, and it has been great fun
working with her. It is our hope, Lori, that
you will continue your active involvement
in the Concordia Club, as we rely on our
younger members to ensure the Club’s
future. Lori, we wish you the very best for
the future, and may all of your dreams come
true!
On Friday, April the 9th, our Choir director,
Dr. Alfred Kunz, hosted his annual “All
Choirs Night”, to which he invited Choirs
from around the Region. Once again, the
evening was a total success, and we thank
Alfred for his kind invitation to join him on
this occasion. Angela and I always enjoy
this event immensely, and we are looking
forward to the Sängerfest in Windsor, where
we anticipate hearing our Choirs perform
beautifully and make the Club proud.
The Ladies, as always, ensured that everyone had a good time at Bockbierfest. This is
still one Group that can fill the hall. Thank
you ladies for a job well done.
Our Easter Brunch once again was outstanding and sold out at both sittings. Congratulations to our Chef Andreas and his staff, all
of whom did an excellent job as always. Just
a little reminder to all of you to make your
reservations early for Mother’s Day if you
want to avoid disappointment, as this event
also sells out quickly.
Because the deadline for the April report
was prior to the President’s Ball, I was
unable to report on this event last month.
Well, I’m happy to say that, with the weather co-operating, the turn-out for the Ball was
tremendous. Still, there were some individuals who were invited, but were unable to
attend because of Spring Break, and they
have asked why the President’s Ball is
always scheduled during Spring Break.
Since I agree that this is a reasonable
request, I have been trying to change the
date for some time now, and it looks as if
2011 might just be the year when the
President’s Ball will no longer interfere with
Spring Break! Hopefully, this means that

attendance will increase even more next
year. My thanks to the Entertainment
Committee who again did a super job of decorating the hall, and ensured everything was
running smoothly. For those of you who
were not present at the Ball, I am proud to
report that I was able to hand over a cheque
for $ 3,000.00 to the Mennonite Central
Committee in support of their efforts for the
Haiti Earthquake victims. This donation
was made up by matching the Groups’
donations with an equal amount from the
Club. On behalf of the Board, we thank the
Groups for their charitable efforts.
Since the President’s Ball is a working
evening for me, I hope it is understood that
it is part of my duty to give sufficient attention to guests such as Cabinet Ministers and
senior politicians. Please forgive me if I did
not have enough time to spend with every
member, but it is in all of our best interests
to keep those special guests happy!
May 1st is the official opening of camping
season, and you will see many changes as
you go out to the Farm. We are working diligently to finally get the Farm legalized this
year. The Township has asked for additional information and Steve, Peter and Bob, are
working with the Structural Engineer to

afford to waste another year just because
certain individuals do not wish to comply
with the Club’s request. We would very
much like to finish the project this year, and
so does the Township!
An organization called “Canadians for
Genocide Education”, a coalition of almost
fifty organizations including the German –
Canadian Congress, sponsored the 7th
Annual Genocide Memorial Week in March
of this year.
The purpose of Genocide Memorial Week is
to highlight both the historical and presentday plight of peoples around the globe who
have been subjected to human rights violations, racial or ethnic cleansing, and genocide. Through the efforts of the GermanCanadian Congress (mainly Ernst Friedel
and Tony Bergmeier), a lecture entitled
“The Expulsion of Germans from Eastern
Europe during and after WWII” was presented at both the University of Waterloo
and the University of Toronto by Prof. Dr. De
Zayas, an outstanding authority on the ethnic cleansing of German civilians from 1945
to 1947. Both auditoriums at both universities were filled to overflowing for these lectures. I would like to thank all of our members who attended either here in Waterloo,
or took the bus to Toronto. The efforts of the
Congress should also be applauded, as it
was not an easy task to put the topic of the
ethnic cleansing of German people on the
agenda. Thanks, Ernst and Tony.
As the month of May unfolds, so many
activities are planned, and it is my hope to
see many of you during this month, either at
the Club or on the Farm!

Neu im Klub: allen Gästen
steht die Möglichkeit des
kostenlosen Internet Zugangs innerhalb der Klubräume und der Patio offen,
so ferne diese natürlich
ihre entsprechenden Geräte, wie z.B.
Handy = Cell phone, Klapprechner =
Laptop, Netbook, PDA = persönlicher digitagler Assistent, Brombeere = Blackberry,
Apple I-Phone = Apfel I-Telefon oder ähnliches mitbringen. Natürlich wird das auch
diesen Kunden helfen, die vor allem ihre
wichtigen Termine und Seminare in den
Klubräumen in der Zukunft abhalten
wollen.
Eröffnung der Gartenwirtschaft
Nachdem das Wetter ja gewaltig mitmacht
und der Sommer fast vor der Tür steht, planen wir wieder eine tolle Eröffnung unserer Gartenwirtschaft. Es soll wieder einmal
so richtig gemütlich werden, mit zünftiger
Blasmusik, deutschem Fürstenberg Bier
vom Fass und natürlich auch mit gegrilltem, sei es nun Bratwurst, Leberkäse oder
Hamburger, die wir übrigens für nur je $ 3
einschließlich Steuern anbieten werden.
So, als Datum haben wir den Dienstagabend, den 1. Juni vorgesehen. Es soll
ab 17 Uhr losgehen! Seien Sie mit dabei.
Wir müssen nur noch hoffen, daß das
Wetter mitmacht und auch viele Mitglieder
von diesem Angebot Gebrauch machen. Es
spielt die Transylvania Hofbräu Blaskapelle (jedoch haben wir zum Drucktermin noch keine endgültige Zusage)!!
Sollte sich der Wetterbericht verschlechtern oder die Band absagen, dann wäre es
wohl empfehlenswert, sich telefonisch im
Klub oder auf unserer Webseite davon zu
informieren ob diese Veranstaltung stattfindet bzw. nicht.
Weisser Spargel Menü
Jawohl, selbstverständlich bereiten wir uns
wieder auf unser Sondermenü mit den
weißen Spargelspezialitäten vor! Sehr
wahrscheinlich wird es in der zweiten und
dritten Mai-Woche so weit sein! Wir haben
dieses Sondermenü schon in der
Vergangenheit angeboten und es war jedes
Mal sehr beliebt und erfolgreich. Im letzten
Jahr war es sogar so beliebt, daß wir nicht
genug hatten. Deshalb bestellen wir in
diesem Jahr etwas mehr und hoffen natürlich auf regen Zulauf, damit nichts verschwendet wird. Da wir wetterbedingt leider nicht genau wissen, wann uns der
Spargel zur Verfügung steht, bitten wir Sie
sich doch bitte telefonisch oder auch auf
unserer Webseite zu erkundigen, wann es
so weit sein wird. Wir halten Sie auf dem
laufenden!!
Vorverkauf der Oktoberfest
Eintrittskarten
Es ist kaum zu glauben, das letztjährige
Oktoberfest liegt nur 6 Monate in der
Vergangenheit und schon gehen die Karten
für’s nächste zum Verkauf. Am 5. Mai um 9
Uhr in der Früh wird’s mal wieder so weit
sein: Karten für Oktoberfest 2010 sind ab
diesem Zeitpunkt für Mitglieder erhältlich!

Nichtmitglieder kommen eine Woche
später zum Zug. Natürlich sind Karten in
diesem Jahr wieder “on line” auf unserer
Webseite, ab dem 13. Mai erhältlich.

Um 8 Uhr morgens werden Wartenummern
an alle Leute, die sich seit Stunden angestellt haben, ausgegeben (im Vorjahr fing
die Warteschlange um 5.30 Uhr an). Die
Schenke wird ab 8 Uhr zum Frühstück
geöffnet sein. Das Kartenbüro fängt kurz
vor 9 Uhr mit dem Vorverkauf an. Es gelten
nach wie vor die gleichen Regeln:
• 20 Karten pro Wochenende

Muttertag
Obwohl noch etwas vorzeitig, aber hauptsächlich um Reservierungsenttäuschungen
vorzubeugen, möchten wir Sie schon heute
auf unsere beiden Muttertagsveranstaltungen am Sonntag, dem 9. Mai aufmerksam
machen. Viele Mitglieder treffen sich zu
diesem Anlass mit ihren Familien, um
gemeinsam die Mutter bzw. Mütter zu ehren. Zu diesem besonderen Anlass feiert
dann die Familie gemeinsam und das lässt
dann auch so manches Mutterherz viel höher schlagen! Man sieht das an den strahlenden Gesichtern der Mütter!!
Wie schon gesagt, wir haben wieder zwei
Veranstaltungen: die erste um 12 Uhr mittags und die zweite um 17 Uhr. Unsere Küche plant schon heute für ein erfolgreiches,
farbenfrohes und schmackhaftes Buffet.
Jede Mutter, ganz gleich ob jung oder alt
bekommt gleich an der Tür eine Blume von
unserer neuen Miss Concordia überreicht.
Unser Personal wird alle Anstrengungen
machen, diese zwei Veranstaltungen so
perfekt wie möglich zu gestalten. Bitte
reservieren Sie rechtzeitig. Preis pro
Person ist wie im Vorjahr nur $ 19.95,
Kinder 4-12 - $ 8.50, Kleinkinder bis 4

wird sowohl am 18. als auch am 19. Mai

weather will co-operate and that many of

White Asparagus Promo
Yes, we’ll do it again! Somewhere around
the second week of May and maybe the
third week of May, depending on the growing season we’ll be offering our special
white asparagus menu again, just like
we’ve done in previous years! On the menu

will be “fresh” white asparagus with suitable menu choices and in different variations and combinations. Chef Andreas is
re-working his menu and is currently
working out final details on this delicacy.
As we cannot pinpoint with certainty as to
when the asparagus will be available we’ll
have to ask you to inquire by either phoning the club office or by checking our web
page!!
As this feature has only a short window of
opportunity I am sure you do not want to
miss it. Many of our guests have told us in

Oktoberfest Admission Tickets
Yes, it's hard to imagine, but we are getting
ready for Oktoberfest 2010! Just like any
other year we are starting with the advance
ticket sales on Wednesday, May 5th at 9am
in the Club office. (public sale date is
Wednesday May 12th, 2010 at 9am).
We will hand out waiting numbers at 8am
for the people standing in line. This will
give everybody an opportunity to relax and
take a seat in the Schenke until their number is called. This is also an opportunity to
enjoy a nice breakfast and chat with your
friends! Once we call your waiting number
it's time to go to the office to obtain your
tickets just like it has been done in the
past.
The rules for members have not changed
and are:
• a maximum of 20 tickets per weekend
per FAMILY.
• Members who purchased tickets in
advance of the public sale date CAN
NOT purchase tickets on the public sale
date.
• Only adults of legal drinking age (19)
and older are admitted (except family
days)
• There are no restrictions of tickets for
any other days!
• We accept cash, visa, mastercard, debit
card and cheques for payment
• there will be additional fees for postage
and handling

Mothers Day
It may seem a little early to talk about this
special event but it will be here soon. The
club puts on a very successful Mother’s
Day year after year – by the time the next
issue of the club Nachrichten is in distribution it may be too late to secure a Brunch
reservation! Therefore I would like to make
you all aware now that on May 9th, 2010
we will celebrate Mothers Day with a beautiful brunch buffet as well as an equally
beautiful evening buffet startingat 5pm.
This event, in honour of all mothers, represents one of the more important occasions in the annual line up of club activities! It is always a pleasure to see whole
families come out to not only cherish their
mothers but also their grandmothers! There
is probably a sweet spot in every mother’s
heart when she knows her loved ones all
come together to celebrate together with her
and she is the center of attention! I have
seen many proud and gleaming grandmothers at these events let me tell you!
Tradition dictates that our Chef Andreas
and all his staff in the kitchen will make
sure everyone will have a culinary feast. Of
course, as we have done in the past: every
mother regardless of age will be presented
with a flower at the door by our new Miss
Concordia. All of our staff will ensure that

everything on that day will be just perfect.
Price per person, just like last year will be
$ 19.95, children 4-12 pay $ 8.50 and children under 4 are free! My advise is to book
early- especially since the brunch sells out
very quickly.
Special clinic of the German Consulate
General
As it has been practise in the last 2 years,
the German Consulate Toronto is holding
special temporary office hours in
Kitchener a few times a year. The next clinic is scheduled for May 18th and 19th.
Aside from regular consulat services, they
will also offer the opportunity to accept
passport applications!! This of course is
much easier than having to travel to
Toronto!! I have been told however that
passport applications are done by appointment only, therfore you will have to give
them a call (416-642-2922) and make an
appointment. These special office hours
are held at the Concordia Club of course!

Es freut mich zu berichten, wie es bei unserem Turnier ging. Es war ein wunderbarer
Tag für alle die teilgenommen haben. Wir
haben 15 Trophies und auch Preise bei der
Tombola im Schwaben Klub gewonnen.

First of all I would like to thank everybody
for their confidence in my work for the
Concordia Nachrichten and for their
Understanding whenthose “typo gremlins”
did their share!
Für das Jahr 2010-2011 habe ich wieder den
Vorsitz und Hans Malthaner ist mir zur
Unterstützung zugeteilt!
Again for 2010-2011 I am holding the chair
for this office and Hans Malthaner is
assigned as my assistant.

Tischtennis-Gruppe
Liebe Freunde!
Unsere Klubmeisterschaft im Tischtennis ist
im vollem Gange. Unser Turnierleiter “John
Mayer” hat die Sache in fester Hand. Er
meint, wenn das so weitergeht, koennen wir
bald mit dem Doppel-Spielen beginnen!
Letzten Monat mussten wir auch den
Geburtstag von Paul Furinss feiern, er zahlte
und wir feierten! Alles Gute Paul!!!!
So, kommt alle fleissig zum T.T. Spiel!
What a gorgeous Easter we had last month!
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect
weekend. I’m sure we weren't the only
household having Easter egg hunts outside.
Our family, along with several other Treffpunkt families also enjoyed an absolutely
delicious Easter brunch or dinner in the
Concordia Club hall that day. Hats off to the
chef and staff who provided such a wonderful buffet! Also in April was the Bockbierfest, which is always a great time.

Our gardens this spring have had a jump
start with a mild winter and early warm
weather. April’s meeting was with Charles
Robinson presenting “Trees and Shrubs for
City Gardens”.
There is a slight change for May’s evening.
Gwynedd Brundrett, a Master Gardener
from the K-W Garden Club, will be speaking
on “Pesticide-Free Gardening” a timely
topic due to last years new restrictions. How
well are you doing and do you have any
questions or concerns?
June’s garden tour of Floral and Hardy
Gardens at Connestoga Lake (viewing on our
own and purchasing if desired) will be a
great way to end the spring season before
our summer break.

Outdoor Group
What an amazing spring we are having this
year unless of course you are a skier. On
behalf of the Outdoor Group I would like to
thank the old main board for all their hard
work in 2009 and would like to wish the
new board members all the best in 2010.The
main board sacrifices a lot of their personal
time away from their friends and family for
the betterment of the club and it is much
appreciated.
I know I have touched on some of the events
that the Outdoor Group has coming up this
summer but I would like to remind you all
again of some important dates to write on
your calender.
We have moved the Rice Lake fishing trip to
May 14,15 and 16th so that it didn't fall on
Mothers Day and we could get even more
people to attend. This trip is always a great
party and we catch lots of fish and have lots
of laughs. If you would like to come with
your friends or family call Harry Beyerle at
519-699-4411 as soon as possible before this
trip is sold out.
We will be having a barbeque and horse
back riding day on June 6th . We will be riding at Horse Back Adventures on Northfield
Drive. This is possibly one of the most scenic trail rides I have ever been on. Come out
and join in the fun.
Fathers' Day is at Home On The Range at the
Concordia Farm which is June 20th. This is
one of our best attended events. We start out
by having a wonderful breakfast followed
by a great lunch and Bocce Ball Tourney.
There is always things to do for the children
and the grown-up children, too. It is always
nice to be in the great outdoors enjoying the
day with your family celebrating the only
day that fathers are allowed to be in charge.
There are no bulletins in the summer so
keep this date in mind: August 22nd we will
be having a free corn roast at the Home On
The Range and this will also be Oktoberfest
sign up. This is our main way of making
revenue for your group. Because we have
the double booth, we need 5 people for each
shift. If you have a friend who would like to
work with you, have them call me or Lori
Beyerle. Just working a couple of hours for
our group can make a big difference. Having
more funds going into 2011 will help us do
more trips and functions for our group.
It is with deep regret that we have to say
good bye to one of our long time members,
Joe Stalzer. Joe was a dear friend of mine
and was very involved with the Outdoor
Group. Our deepest sympathy goes out to
Joe's wife and family. You will be sorely
missed my friend.

Concordia Chöre
At last spring has arrived! During the month
of April, we were busy practicing for our
spring concert, but we did have one event.
On April 9th Dr. Alfred Kunz once again
organized a fabulous ‘All Choirs Night’. For
over 40 years Alfred has invited many guest
choirs to participate in an evening of song
and camaraderie. It’s always great to see the
many variations of style and talent come
together for one night. This year was no
exception, and we had no less then 10 guest
choirs fill the hall to capacity. If you were
not able to join us that evening ( due to limits on capacity) all choirs have performances throughout the year at different venues
throughout the area, so lets all support the
local arts. The following choirs joined the
Concordia Mixed and Male choirs:
Gloryland Chorus,Merry Melodies, Music
Alive, Nith Valley Singers, Schneider Male
Chorus, Sweet Adelines, Transylvania Club,
and the Twin City Harmonizers. A big thank
you to all who joined us, and to Alfred Kunz
for organizing the talent.
During the month of May the
Concordia Mixed and Male choirs
along with the Concordia Children’s
Choir will perform their annual
Spring Concert. It starts at 7:30 and
you can see more details in the ad
in the bulletin.
The Concordia Choir will be travelling to Windsor on May 22 and 23rd
for a ‘Sangerfest”.
I would also like to provide all
choirs member’s early notice about
our Choir Picnic on August 14th at
the Concordia Farm. Over the years

Adolf Bretz and Fred Trautrim have worked
tirelessly to organize a ‘Silent Auction’. At
this years picnic we are going to have a
‘Grand Tombola’!! Each prize will have a
ticket draw box. When you purchase your
tickets, you get to decide which prize you
want your ticket to be for, by simply putting
your ticket into that box. We are calling
once again on all choir members and supporters to contribute/donate prizes/gift certificates to this event. ( not a garage sale)
If you cannot donate a prize, please consider giving a cash donation, and we can purchase an appropriate prize. We are counting
on each choir member to support this event,
with the resources you have available. Once
again Fred Trautrim will collect the prizes
or cash. Please approach him after practice,

Senioren-Gruppe
Unsere Gruppe traf sich am 7. April in der
Jaegerstube. Anwesend waren 18 Mitglieder.
Fred fing wie immer puenktlich um 15.00
Uhr an. Als erstes berichtete Fred dass
unser langjaehriges Mitglied Stefanie Filipitsch einen Unfall erlitt und daher leider
nicht an unserem Treffen teilnehmen konnte. Stefanie, wir wuenschen Dir alles Gute
and werde recht bald wieder geasund, wir
vermissen Dich. Und da kann ich dann auch
gleich Stefanie und Gatte Edward zum
Geburtstag gratulieren. Wir haben an euch
gedacht und wuenschen euch das Beste fuer
das 2010, 11, 12 und so weiter.....
Wir hatten aber noch zwei weitere Geburtstagskinder, Marianne Weyer und Margarete
Ziebart. Wir sangen unser Geburtstagslied
und unser Hausmusikant Heidi Feest ist auf
dem Weg zur Besserung und erfreute uns
mit ihrer musikalischen Begleitung. Da
klappt das Singen gleich viel besser.
Als naechstes las uns Fred die Post vor. Die
Narrenzunft Concordia feiert dieses Jahr
ihren 44. Geburtstag (4 x 11). Um diesen
Meilenstein zu feiern, wird ein besonderes
Heft gedruckt und die Seniorengruppe wird
durch eine kleine Anzeige die Narrenzunft
unterstuetzen. Gleichzeitig wird die Seniorengruppe eine Spende fuer die Blumen
im Klubegelaende ueberweisen. Schliesslich geniessen wir ja alle diese gepflegten
Anlagen im Sommer.
Unser erstes Piknik ist fuer den 16. Juni
geplant. Die Einzelheiten werden wir auf
unserer Versammlung im Mai besprechen.
Unser Vorstand ist jetzt auch wieder vollstaending. Al Joachim Nanders wurde einstimmig zum Vizepraesidenten erwaehlt,
herzlich willkommen Joachim.
Der Nachmittag verlief gemuetlich bei
Kaffee und Kuchen. Wir treffen uns wieder
am 5. Mai um 15.00 Uhr. Bis dahin wird der
Fruehling wohl auch eingezogen sein und
wir koennen uns alle auf die schoene Jahreszeit freuen.
