INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
1.
Meeting Venue
The second session of the JCOMM Expert Team on Maritime Safety Services (ETMSS-II) and the
first session of the Expert Team on Marine Accident Emergency Support (ETMAES-I) will take
place at the Portogalo Suite Hotel, Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The hotel is located in the
top of a hill in the well-known region named Costa Verde, that offers to the visitors a privileged view of
the sea. The tropical and mild climate of the region, the breeze from the sea, the always present sun
and an infrastructure to support these kinds of meetings, makes this hotel the ideal scenario for the
success of these events.
The meetings will take place at the Hotel Convention Centre. Technical facilities are available, e.g.
multimedia projectors, overhead projectors, etc.
The Hotel’s rooms all with a view of the sea and are equipped with air conditioning, mini-refrigerator,
telephone, cable TV, safe and balcony.

Meeting dates
ETMSS-II: 24 to 27 January 2007
ETMAES-I: 29 to 31 January 2007
The meetings will open at 0930 hours on 24 January 2007. An Ice-breaker is planned for 24 January
2007 at 1930 hours.

Hotel Reservations
The Portogala Suíte Hotel is located a few km from the city centre of Angra dos Reis. Participants are
strongly encouraged to stay in this hotel.
Prices are not yet available for 2007. The participants will be informed as soon as available.
Please directly contact the hotel (Ms Carla Barbosa dos Santos) to make reservations, with reference
to the meeting.

Arrival
The closest airport from Angra dos Reis is the Aeroporto Internacional Antônio Carlos Jobim (Galeão),
150 km far from the hotel. Please advise the Local Organizing Committee your flight arrival
details as transportation will be provided from the airport to Portugalo Suite Hotel.
