Notas acerca del uso del conector frontal IDE:
1. Der IDE-Standard unterstützt kein Plug&Play. Schalten Sie den QuickPort zunächst ab, schließen

Partitionieren. Eventuell muss die Platte vorher noch initialisiert werden. Wir empfehlen das
Dateisystem NTFS für Windows PCs. Anschließend können Sie die Festplatte formatieren.
Achtung:
Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie die korrekte USB-Festplatte zur Formatierung ausgewählt haben, da
etwaige vorhandene Daten auf der ausgewählten Festplatte beim Partitionieren und Formatieren
verloren gehen!

Notes on using the IDE front connector:
1. The IDE standard does not support Plug&Play. Switch off the QuickPort, then plug the IDE device
to the IDE front connector and turn on the QuickPort, the connected IDE device will now be available.
2. To correctly recognize the IDE devices it is necessary to set their jumpers to “Master” or “Cable
Select” (for more info also refer to the manual of the respective device).
3. Brand new HDDs (IDE and SATA) used with the QuickPort must be partitioned and formatted.
Format the HDD by right-clicking COMPUTER and then selecting MANAGE. Under Windows 7 select
START, then right-click COMPUTER and then select MANAGE. After that, select DISK MANAGEMENT. Here all formatable HDDs and drives will be clearly displayed. Right-click the USB HDD and
select PARTITION. The HDD will probably need to be initialized, we suggest using the NTFS data
system for Windows PCs. Format the HDD to complete the procedure.
Warning:
Make sure to select the correct USB hard disk drive for formatting due to all data saved on the HDD
being lost when partitioning and formatting!

Hinweise zur Nutzung des IDE-Frontanschlusses:
3. Las unidades HDD nuevas (IDE y SATA) que se utilicen con QuickPort deberán ser previamente
particionadas y formateadas. Formatee la unidad HDD haciendo clic con el botón secundario en
EQUIPO y seleccionando la opción ADMINISTRAR a continuación. En Windows 7, seleccione
INICIO, haga clic con el botón secundario en EQUIPO y seleccione la opción ADMINISTRAR.
Seguidamente, seleccione ADMINISTRACIÓN DE DISCOS. La sección que aparecerá a continuación mostrará claramente todas las unidades HDD y dispositivos que se pueden formatear. Haga clic
con el botón secundario en la unidad HDD USB y seleccione la opción PARTICIÓN. Es probable que

3. As unidades de disco rígido novas (IDE e SATA) usadas com o QuickPort devem ser particionadas
e formatadas. Formate a unidade de disco rígido, clicando com o lado direito do rato em COMPUTER
(Computador) e depois seleccionando MANAGE (Gerir). Em Windows 7 seleccione START (Iniciar) e
depois clique com o lado direito do rato em COMPUTER (Computador) e seleccione MANAGE (Gerir).
Em seguida, seleccione DISK MANAGEMENT (Gestão de Discos). Aqui todas as unidades de discos
rígidos e restantes unidades serão claramente mostradas. Clique com o lado direito do lado em USB
HDD (Unidade de Disco Rígido USB) e seleccione PARTITION (Particionar). É provável que a unidade
de disco rígido precise de ser iniciada, como tal sugerimos que utilize o sistema de dados NTFS para

1. La norme IDE ne prend pas en charge le Plug & Play. Éteignez le QuickPort, puis branchez le
périphérique IDE sur le connecteur IDE en face avant et allumez le QuickPort ; le périphérique IDE
connecté est maintenant disponible.
2. Afin de reconnaître correctement les périphériques IDE, il est nécessaire de régler leurs cavaliers
(pour en savoir plus se référer également au manuel du périphérique respectif) sur "Master" (Maître)
ou "Cable Select" (Selon le câble).
3. Les disques durs neufs (IDE et SATA) utilisés avec le QuickPort doivent être partitionnés et
formatés. Pour formater le disque dur, faites un clic droit sur le Poste de travail, puis sélectionnez
Gérer. Sous Windows 7, sélectionnez Démarrer, puis faites un clic droit sur le Poste de travail et
sélectionnez Gérer. Après cela, sélectionnez Gestion de disque. Ici, tous les disques durs et toutes
les unités formatables seront clairement affichés. Faites un clic droit sur le Disque dur USB et
sélectionnez Partitionner. Le disque dur devra probablement être initialisé, nous vous recommandons d’utiliser le système de données NTFS pour les PC Windows. Formatez le disque dur pour
terminer la procédure.
Mise en garde:
Veullez bien à sélectionner le disque dur correct pour le partitionnement, car toutes les données

Note sull’uso del connettore frontale IDE:
1. Lo standard IDE non supporta il Plug&Play. Spegnere QuickPort, poi collegare il dispositivo IDE al
connettore frontale IDE ed accendere QuickPort; adesso il dispositivo IDE collegato è disponibile.
2. Per riconoscere correttamente i dispositivi IDE, è necessario impostare i loro jumper su “Master”
o “Cable Select” (fare riferimento ai manuali dei dispositivi per altre informazioni).
3. Deve essere eseguita la formattazione e la partizione delle unità HDD (IDE e SATA) nuove, usate
con QuickPort. Formattare l’unità HDD facendo clic col tasto destro del mouse su COMPUTER e poi
seleziaonare GESTIONE. Con Windows 7 selezionare START, poi fare clic col tasto destro del mouse
su COMPUTER e poi selezionare GESTIONE. Poi, selezionare GESTIONE DISCO. Qui saranno
visualizzate in modo chiaro tutte le unità e HDD formattabili. Fare clic col tasto destro del mouse
sull’unità HDD USB e selezionare PARTIZIONE. Probabilmente l’unità HDD dovrà essere inizializzata,
si suggerisce di usare il sistema NTFS per i PC Windows. Formattare l’unità HDD per completare la
procedura.
Avviso:
Assicurarsi di selezionare l’unità disco rigido corretta per la formattazione, poiché tutti i dati salvati
nell’unità HDD andranno persi durante la partizione e formattazione!
3. Nieuwe HDD's (IDE en SATA) die met de QuickPort worden gebruikt, moeten worden
gepartitioneerd en geformatteerd. Formatteer de HDD door met de rechtermuisknop op COMPUTER
te klikken en vervolgens BEHEREN te klikken. Onder Windows 7 selecteert u START, klikt u
vervolgens met de rechtermuisknop op COMPUTER en selecteert u BEHEREN. Selecteer daarna
SCHIJFBEHEER. Hier worden alle HDD's en stations die kunnen worden geformatteerd, duidelijk
weergegeven. Klik met de rechtermuisknop op de USB HDD en selecteer PARTITIE. De HDD moet
waarschijnlijk worden geïnitialiseerd. Wij raden u aan het NTFS-gegevenssysteem te gebruiken
voor pc's met Windows. Formatteer de HDD om de procedure te voltooien.
Waarschuwing:
Zorg dat u de juiste harde schijf selecteert voor het formatteren, want alle gegevens die op de HDD
zijn opgeslagen, gaan verloren tijdens het partitioneren en formatteren.
Uwagi dotyczace uzywania przedniego złacza IDE:
1. Standardowo IDE nie obsługuje Plug&Play. Nalezy wyłaczyc QuickPort, a nastepnie
podłaczyc urzadzenie IDE do przedniego złacza IDE i właczyc QuickPort, podłaczone
urzadzenie IDE bedzie teraz dostepne.
2. Aby zostały rozpoznane urzadzenia IDE nalezy ustawic ich zworki (dalsze informacje
znajduja sie takze w podreczniku odpowiedniego urzadzenia) na pozycje “Master”
(Nadrzedne) lub “Cable Select” (Wybór kabla).
3. Nowe dyski twarde (IDE i SATA) uzywane z QuickPort musza byc podzielone na partycje
i sformatowane. Dysk twardy można sformatować poprzez klikniecie prawym przyciskiem
COMPUTER (KOMPUTER), a następnie wybranie MANAGE (ZARZĄDZAJ). W systemie
Windows 7 należy wybrać START, a następnie kliknąć prawym przyciskiem COMPUTER
(KOMPUTER) i wybrać MANAGE (ZARZĄDZAJ). Dalej należy wybrać DISK MANAGEMENT
(ZARZĄDZANIE DYSKAMI). W wyświetlonym oknie pokazane są wszystkie możliwe do
sformatowania dyski twarde i napędy. Kliknij prawym przyciskiem dysk twardy USB i
wybierz PARTITION (PARTYCJA). Dysk twardy najprawdopodobniej trzeba będzie
zainicjować, dla komputerów PC z systemem Windows zalecamy użycie systemu danych
NTFS. Sformatuj dysk twardy w celu dokończenia procedury.
Ostrzeżenie:
Ponieważ podział na partycje i formatowanie powoduje usunięcie wszystkich danych
zapisanych na dysku twardym należy sprawdzić, czy wybrano prawidłowy dysk twardy!
