Dear Elementary Parents and Guardians,
It is hard to believe how swiftly the school year has passed and is coming to an end. I
would like to thank you for your Faith, trust, and commitment to the mission of Our Lady
of Mercy School.
These last two weeks are packed with exciting events that you simply can’t leave out of
your calendar. So hold on!

June 13th: Open House (8a.m.-8:45a.m.) Students will be sharing their portfolios
and you will be able to take a glimpse of their school year;

June 14th and 15th: Godspell (7:00p.m.);

June 17th: Last Day of School – Half day (until 1:30p.m);

June 18th: Festa Junina (2p.m.-6p.m);

July 15th: 2016-2017 Open House (8:00-9:00)

July 18th: First Day of School for the 2016-2017 School Year;

July 26th: Sant'Anna and Saint Joachim: Grandparents Celebration and Breakfast
Studies show that students who do not read or have
access
to books
significant
loss
during
in
their vacation suffer
their
reading
a
performance.
Therefore, we strongly suggest that they continue to
read as much as possible. A great variety of books can
be found on Tumblebooks and TumblebooksJr. They can
also practice their Math skills on IXL and English skills
on ELA. Their username and passwords remain the same.
Museums, the Botanical Garden and the theater are also
worthy ideas for this period away from school.
I take this opportunity to congratulate all OLM students! I wish you all a very blissful,
safe and gratifying vacation. Please be sure to take time as a family to play, talk, and pray
together. I look forward to seeing you all in July!

Caros Pais e Responsáveis,
É difícil acreditar que o final deste ano letivo já está chegando! Eu gostaria de agradecêlos por sua Fé, confiança e comprometimento com a missão da OLM.
Estas últimas duas semanas estão repletas de eventos emocionantes que não podemos
perder. Então, vamos lá!

13 de junho: Open House (8h-8h45min) Os alunos compartilharão seus portfolios e
vocês poderão ter uma amostra do progresso escolar do aluno;

14 e 15 de junho: Godspell (19h);

17 de junho: Último Dia de Aula – meio expediente (até 13h30min);

18 de junho: Festa Junina (14h.-18h);

15 de julho: Open House 2016-2017 (8h-9h)

18 de julho: Primeiro Dia Letivo do Ano 2016-2017;

26 de julho: Dia de Sant'Ana e São Joquim: Celebração e Café da Manhã do Dia dos
Avós.
Estudos demonstram que os alunos que não lêem ou não
têm acesso a livros ao longo das férias têm uma perda
significativa em seu desempenho na leitura. Eles deverão
continuar lendo o máximo possível. Muitos livros poderão
ser encontrados no Tumblebooks e TumblebooksJr. Eles
também
poderão
praticar
suas
habilidades
de
matemática no IXL e de inglês no ELA. Seus username e
senhas permanecerão os mesmos. Museus, Jardim
Botânico e teatro também são ideias interessantes para
esse período.
Aproveito para parabenizar os alunos da OLM! Desejo a todos férias abençoadas, seguras e
