Gabriel and Aron have always loved coauthored a food and restaurant blog and as college students they worked with the Tulane, Vanderbilt, and Emory (three States) summer study abroad program to write a guide for foreign students in São Paulo. This initial foray into helping young travelers engage with a new city led the twins to receive funding from Brown Piecing Together São Paulo: An insider’s guide to food and culture in a bustling metropolis is geared towards young travelers visiting, studying, or living in São Paulo. Twin authors Aron and Gabriel Lesser, 22 year-old Brazilian-Americans, believe that São Paulo has become an exciting tourist hotspot, especially for those on a budget. University to research and write Piecing The guide is divided into three parts: food, walking tours, and nightlife. Together São Paulo. Section I is a mini-history lesson about the relationship between food and identity in São Paulo, and provides great and inexpensive food suggestions. Section II re-imagines São Paulo’s downtown as ten walkable “pieces” Walking Tour Guides edited by boundaries. Unlike conventional walking tours, the “pieces” have no EDITORA NARRATIVA UM starting and ending points. Instead, the twins encourage travelers to explore the city with a greater degree of independence. For Aron and Gabriel, “youth” is a mentality not an age. Their mother is Brazilian and their American father is a historian of Brazil, so the twins spent much of their childhood in a Portuguese-English bilingual household in São Paulo. Aron and Gabriel have both received a number of grants from Brown University to conduct research in Brazil. Gabriel is a historical fiction writer who studies Latin America and Spanish immigrant literature.
