STUDENT AGREEMENT
Eu, _________________________________________, tendo sido aceito como um membro participante do programa de intercâmbio,
oferecido por F.L.A.G. Brasil,
1. Concordo em cumprir as seguintes regras durante o período de duração meu programa e concordo que qualquer violação das
citadas regras resultará na minha imediata retirada do programa, perda de todos os meus direitos decorrentes da participação
no programa de intercâmbio e extinção do motivo para o meu visto. Assim,

Não usarei, possuirei, comprarei, venderei ou estarei envolvido com qualquer espécie de drogas ilegais ou narcóticos;
Não beberei bebidas alcoólicas;
Não estarei envolvido sexualmente, de qualquer maneira que seja;
Não conduzirei qualquer espécie de veículos motorizados;
Não comprarei ou usarei armas de fogo de qualquer espécie;
Cumprirei as normas dos Estados Unidos da América;
Não fugirei ou abandonarei a casa de minha família anfitriã por longo período de tempo, sem sua permissão;
Comprometo-me a não tirar nota média abaixo de “C” por duas avaliações consecutivas;
Não faltarei aulas e completarei todos os deveres de classe e de casa determinados por minha escola;
Não viajarei sozinho, a não ser autorizado por minha família anfitriã e um representante da F.L.A.G.;
Não tentarei fazer gestões visando minha transferência para outra família ou escola;
Terei o nível mínimo de proficiência em inglês, requerido pela F.L.A.G., Ltda. quando de minha chegada aos EUA.
2. Concordo em cumprir as seguintes regras durante o período de duração de meu programa e concordo plenamente que a violação
continuada de qualquer das seguintes regras resultará em minha imediata retirada do programa, perda de todos os meus direitos
decorrentes da participação no programa de intercâmbio e extinção do motivo para o meu visto:
• Tomarei minha família anfitriã como sendo a minha própria e concordarei em cumprir suas regras e diretivas;
• Não falarei a outros (com exceção dos representantes da F.L.A.G.) sobre assuntos particulares de minha família anfitriã ou sobre
quaisquer problemas de adaptação com ela que eu enfrente;
• Não esperarei ser transferido para outra família a não ser que problemas de não-adaptação ou outros sejam confirmados por um
representante autorizado da F.L.A.G.. Caso uma transferência seja procedida, concordarei em fazê-la da forma mais pacífica possível.
Ademais, compreendo que não serei transferido mais de uma vez, a não ser que eu não tenha contribuído para causar a primeira transferência;
• Apenas procurarei um representante da F.L.A.G. quando precisar de auxílio em situações que não possam ser resolvidos por minha
família anfitriã;
• Mostrarei respeito aos representantes da F.L.A.G. e obedecerei suas instruções;
• Não manterei contato freqüente com outros estudantes estrangeiros, participantes de intercâmbios (especialmente os originários de meu
país), e farei esforços para interar-me socialmente com cidadãos americanos;
• Não estarei envolvido em problemas concernentes a outros estudantes participantes de intercâmbio;
• Limitarei meu contato com meus pais naturais (por telefone ou internet) a um nível que não interfira com minha experiência (F.L.A.G.
recomenda que seja uma vez por semana). Ademais, reconheço e concordo que visitas feitas por meus pais naturais devem ocorrer apenas
ao final de minha experiência nos EUA;
• Não visitarei locais como lojas ou websites pornográficos, teatros para adultos ou estabelecimentos de vendas de bebidas alcoólicas;
• Não participarei de atividades que potencialmente exponham a vida à risco, como saltos de paraquedas, bungy jumping ou o que as valha;
• Manterei uma reserva mensal média mínima de US$ 150,00 para despesas pessoais (fornecida por meus pais naturais) durante o período
do programa de intercâmbio;
• Aceitarei todas as diretivas, regras e regulamentações contidas em meu Manual do Estudante como uma extensão válida e obrigatória do
presente Acordo.
3. Renúncias Genéricas
• Renunciarei voluntariamente a quaisquer direitos decorrentes da participação no programa de intercâmbio caso eu decida retornar
prematuramente a meu país de origem por qualquer razão pessoal outra que não um dano sofrido ou doença;
• Aceitarei plena responsabilidade por bens de minha propriedade durante toda minha estada no estrangeiro; nem F.L.A.G. tampouc o seus
representantes deverão ser responsabilizados por qualquer perda de tais bens;
• F.L.A.G. e seus representantes estão isentas de quaisquer queixas e serão indenizadas no que concerne a obrigações financeiras ou
condenações civis/criminais nas quais incorrer o estudante. Incluem-se nessa isenção quaisquer dano ou prejuízo a pessoas ou
propriedade que o estudante possa produzir durante sua participação no programa de intercâmbio. A responsabilidade pelas citadas
obrigações incide sobre o estudante, seus pais naturais ou responsáveis ou a empresa seguradora, eventualmente contratada.
• Autorizo a F.L.A.G. a utilizar minha fotografia para divulgação de seus programas, ficando ao seu critério usá-la ou não.
Tendo lido atentamente os compromissos acima, os signatários declaram plenamente compreender e aceitar e obrigar-se aos termos acima:

I,
, having been accepted as a participant of F.L.A.G.,
1. Agree to abide by the following rules through the duration of my program, and fully understand that ANY violation of
these rules will result in my immediate dismissal from the program, loss of all my rights as a program
participant, and termination of my visa:
• I will not use, possess, buy, sell, or be involved with any type of illegal drugs or narcotics including cigarettes.
• I will not drink alcoholic beverages.
• I will not be sexually active in any manner.
• I will not operate any type of motorized vehicles ( If I am allowed to take drivers education while in the U.S., I will not be allowed to
use a friend’s or my host family’s car. I can only obtain my license by using the car of the driving school or company. Once I have
my license, I will surrender it to F.L.A.G. for the duration of my stay )
• I will not purchase or use firearms of any type.
• I will abide by the laws of the United States of America.
• I will not “run away” or leave my host family’s house for a lengthy period of time without their permission.
• I will not allow my grade point average at school to stay under a “C” average for 2 consecutive marking periods.
• I will not “skip” school, and will complete all of my school and homework assignments.
• I will not travel alone, unless approved by my host family, and by an authorized F.L.A.G. representative.
• I will not attempt to arrange my own transfer to another host family or school.
• I will posses the minimum level of English proficiency required by F.L.A.G. upon my arrival in the U.S.
2. Agree to abide by the following rules through the duration of my program, and fully understand that CONTINUOUS
failure to abide by the following rules will result in my dismissal from the program, loss of all my rights as a
program participant, and termination of my visa:
• I will accept my overseas host family as my own, and agree to abide by their rules and directions.
• I will not talk to others (except F.L.A.G.) about my host family’s private affairs or any adaptation issues that I may have with them.
• I will not expect to be transferred from my host family unless non-adaptation or other problems are confirmed by an authorized
F.L.A.G. representative. If a change in placement is required, I agree to cooperate with the F.L.A.G. representative in order to
promote a smooth transition; further, I understand that I will not be transferred more than once, unless I did not
contribute in any way to the situation causing the first transference.
• I will only contact an authorized F.L.A.G. representative if I need help in situations that are not resolved within my host family.
• I will show respect towards F.L.A.G.’s representatives and obey their instructions.
• I will not be in frequent contact with other exchange students especially those from my home country, and will make special efforts
to have social contact with U.S. citizens.
• I will not become involved with problems regarding other exchange students.
• I will limit my contact with my natural parents (via phone and/or internet) to a level which doesn’t interfere with my experience
(once a week is recommended by F.L.A.G.). Further, I agree and understand that visits from my natural family should only occur at
the end of my experience in the U.S.
• I will not visit places such as pornographic shops or web sites, adult theaters, or drinking establishments.
• I will not participate in potentially life-threatening high risk activities such as parachute jumping, bungee jumping, etc...
• I will retain a US$150.00/month minimum average of personal spending funds (provided by my natural parents) throughout the
duration of my program.
• I will accept all of the guidelines and rules stated in my Student Manual as a valid and binding extension of this Agreement.
3. General Waivers
• I will voluntarily waive my rights as a program participant in case I decide to return to my home country prematurely for any personal
reasons, other than injury or illness.
• I will accept full responsibility for my personal property during my entire stay overseas; neither F.L.A.G. nor any of its
representatives shall be liable for any loss thereof.
• F.L.A.G. and its representatives are released from any claims and will be indemnified with regard to financial obligations or
civil/criminal liabilities incurred by the student, or damage or injury to any persons or properties that the student may cause during
his/her participation in a F.L.A.G. program. It is the responsibility of the student, his/her parents/guardians and/or their insurance
company to meet any such obligations or liabilities as described herein.
• I agree to have my application photos used by F.L.A.G. in its promotional materials with the understanding that none of my personal
information will be used along with the photos.
Having carefully read the above information, we completely understand the meaning of this
agreement, and commit ourselves to abide by its terms:

Document on Specific Policies,
Permissions, and Authorization
Placement Permission
• We hereby consent to our Child’s placement with a host family interviewed and selected by
F.L.A.G. and enrollment with a U.S. high school in this host family’s district.
• We hereby authorize the F.L.A.G. host family to communicate with the high school on our behalf.
Diversity in Placement Policy
• We understand that the F.L.A.G. program, as per regulatory guidelines, is based upon on a
volunteer network of host families and public high schools.
• We understand that, once screened and approved by F.L.A.G., the host families choose their own
student and cannot be forced to host any specific student.
• We understand the vast cultural diversity of the United States, and that host families can come from
different ethnic and religion backgrounds. We understand that the host family’s primary spoken
language will be English and that some host families might also speak a second language.
• We understand that our child cannot reside with a family of relatives or fellow country people.
• We understand that host family cannot be expected to be of a specific profession, composition (in
terms of family members), or economic level (except for what is required by F.L.A.G. and sufficient
for fulfilling its financial requirements as a host family).
High School Enrollment Policy
• We understand that the High Schools have the right to refuse enrollment to a student due to their
own policy or upon review of the student’s application.
• We understand that our child may not enter the United States without the written acceptance by a
U.S. High School (to be obtained by F.L.A.G.).
• We understand that, as per the pertinent federal guidelines, no exchange student can be
promised or guaranteed a high school diploma.
Travel Policy and Authorization
• We understand that any travel by my child must be requested and authorized in writing by us.
• We understand that we must provide this authorization in writing to the F.L.A.G. agent in our home
country with full and specific information on the travel itinerary and conditions prior to us
confirming any travel plans.
• We further understand and accept that any and all travel must also be approved by the host family,
the host school (if applicable) and ultimately by FLAG.

Internet Access and Usage Policy
• We hereby understand that internet access varies from country to country and from family to family,
and that my child might very well be placed with a host family who does not have internet readily
available at home.
• We understand and agree that, in case my child’s host family have internet access, my child’s
access to the internet will be monitored by and controlled by the host family, school and F.L.A.G.
for purpose of frequency of usage, frequency of contact with family or friends in his/her home
country (i.e., msn, e-mail, chat rooms, etc...), as well as for lawfulness of content.
Private Cell Phone and/or Personal Computer Policy
• We hereby understand that if my child takes a cell phone and/or laptop to the U.S. with him/her or
acquires one while in the U.S., the usage of either or both will be subject to exactly the same
monitoring and controlling as the host family’s home phone and computer.
Driving Policy
• We hereby understand that, by default, no participant of the F.L.A.G. program is allowed to apply
for a drivers permit while in the U.S.
• We understand that special exceptions can be made for driver’s training but only as allowed by the
applicable state law, and properly documented as well as expressly authorized by us, and agreed
upon by the host family and F.L.A.G.
• We understand that some states allow students to participate in a Driver’s Education course with
the understanding that driving only occurs during the Drivers Ed course, under that agency's
supervision and covered under the agency's independent insurance policy.
• We further understand that F.L.A.G. students cannot be insured for the host family vehicles or
issued the drivers permit, therefore they cannot drive.
We have carefully read the above document, had any questions or doubts answered by
a F.L.A.G. authorized representative, and hereby state my agreement to all of the
terms stated above.

Permissões e Autorizações
Permissão de Colocação
• Por meio deste, damos consentimento para a colocação de nosso Filho/Filha junto a uma família
adotiva, entrevistada e selecionada pela F.L.A.G., e permissão para matrícula num colégio americano
no distrito desta família adotiva.
• Autorizamos por meio deste que a família adotiva F.L.A.G. se comunique com o colégio em nosso
nome.
Norma de Diversidade de Colocação
• Entendemos que o programa F.L.A.G., segundo as normas regulamentares, baseia-se numa rede
voluntária de famílias adotivas e colégios públicos.
• Entendemos que, uma vez feita a triagem e que forem aprovadas pela F.L.A.G., as famílias adotivas
escolhem seu próprio estudantes e não podem ser forçadas a hospedar qualquer aluno específico.
• Entendemos a vasta diversidade cultural dos Estados Unidos e que famílias adotivas podem provir de
diferentes backgrounds étnicos e religiosos. Compreendemos que a língua principal falada pela
família adotiva será o inglês, e que algumas famílias adotivas podem também falar uma segunda língua.
• Compreendemos que nosso filho/filha não pode morar com uma família de parentes ou amigos do
mesmo país.
• Compreendemos que não se pode esperar que a família adotiva tenha uma profissão específica, ou
composição (em termos de membros da família) ou nível econômico (exceto para aquilo que é exigido
pela F.L.A.G. e suficiente para cumprir seus requisitos financeiros como família adotiva).
Norma de Matrícula em Colégio
• Compreendemos que os Colégios têm o direito de recusar matrícula a um aluno, devido às suas
próprias normas ou ao revisar a documentação do aluno.
• Compreendemos que nosso filho/filha pode não entrar nos Estados Unidos sem uma aceitação por
um colégio dos Estados Unidos (a ser obtida pela F.L.A.G.).
• Compreendemos que, de acordo com as normas regulamentadoras de Intercâmbio nos EUA,
nenhum intercambista pode ser prometido ou garantido o diploma de “High School”.

Norma de Viagem e Autorização
• Compreendemos que qualquer viagem de meu filho/filha deve ser solicitada e autorizada por nós por
escrito.
• Compreendemos que precisamos fornecer esta solicitação por escrito ao agente da F.L.A.G. em
nosso país natal, com informações completas e específicas sobre o itinerário da viagem e as
condições, antes de nós confirmarmos quaisquer planos de viagem.
• Também entendemos e aceitamos que toda e qualquer viagem deva ser aprovada pela família adotiva,
pelo colégio (se aplicável) e por último pela F.L.A.G.
Norma de Acesso à Internet e Uso
• Compreendemos, por meio deste, que o acesso à Internet varia de país a país e de família a família, e
que meu filho/filha pode muito bem ser colocado junto a uma família adotiva que não possua Internet
em casa.
• Compreendemos e concordamos que, caso a família adotiva de meu filho/filha possua acesso à
Internet em casa, o acesso de meu filho/filha à Internet será monitorado e controlado pela família
adotiva, pelo colégio e pela F.L.A.G., com a finalidade de freqüência de uso, freqüência de contato
com a família ou amigos em seu país natal (isto é, e-mails, salas de bate papo, etc.), bem como pela
legalidade do conteúdo.
Norma de Celular Particular e/ou Computador Pessoal
• Por meio deste entendemos que se meu filho/filha levar um celular e/ou laptop para os Estados
Unidos, ou adquirir um enquanto estiver nos Estados Unidos, o uso de um deles ou de ambos será
sujeito a exatamente ao mesmo monitoramento e controle como se fosse o telefone ou computador
da família adotiva.
Norma de Direção
• Entendemos que, por princípio, nenhum participante do programa F.L.A.G. tem permissão de solicitar
uma carteira de habilitação enquanto estiver nos Estados Unidos.
• Compreendemos que exceções especiais podem ser feitas para aula de direção, mas somente
conforme permitido por lei aplicável estadual, e devidamente documentada bem como
expressamente autorizada por nós, e em concordância com a família adotiva e com a F.L.A.G..
• Compreendemos que alguns estados permitem os alunos participarem do curso de Educação para
Motorista, com o entendimento de que a direção só aconteça durante o curso de Educação para
Motorista, sob supervisão da agência e coberto pela apólice de seguro independente da agência.
• Também entendemos que os alunos F.L.A.G. não podem obter seguro para os veículos da família
adotiva ou receber autorização para dirigir, e, portanto não podem dirigir.
Lemos cuidadosamente o documento acima, fizemos algumas perguntas ou expomos
algumas dúvidas que foram respondidas pelo representante autorizado da F.L.A.G. e
aqui declaramos nossa aceitação de todos os termos acima.
