Objetivos
A Coordenadoria de International Affairs da FGV/EESP
tem como objetivo o desenvolvimento de parcerias
com instituições internacionais a fim de contribuir para
o aprimoramento do aprendizado dos alunos da Escola
de Economia de São Paulo e internacionalização da
instituição.

The International Affairs of FGV/EESP has as its main goal the
development of partnerships with international institutions
in order to contribute to the improvement of its students
learning and also to strengthen the internationalization
process of the institution.
FGV entre os mais importantes “Think
Tanks” do mundo
De acordo com o estudo da Universidade
da Pensilvânia, novamente a Fundação
Getulio Vargas (FGV) se destacou entre
os mais importantes Centros de Estudos
do mundo, chamados de “Think
Tanks”. Segundo o relatório do “Think
Tanks and Civil Society Program”,
coordenado por James McGann, a
FGV ficou em 27º lugar no mundo e
em 1º lugar na América do Sul.

According to a study from the University of Pennsylvania,
once again Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) stood out among
the most important study centers in the world, called “Think
Tanks”. According to the “Think Tanks and Civil Society
Program” report, coordinated by James McGann, FGV took
the 27th place worldwide and 1st place in South America.

FGV is the best placed Brazilian
institution of The New York Times ranking
The New York Times published a study made with
executives who lead the most important companies in
10 countries, aiming to discover the major institutions of
higher education in which they recruit new talents. In this
research, Fundação Getulio Vargas was the best placed
Brazilian institution, in the 98th overall classification, being
well positioned among several renowned universities.

A FGV/EESP está em constante processo de formação
de alianças com as melhores instituições educacionais
presentes no mundo todo. Nessas instituições, os alunos
contam com programas variados de estudo, tais como:
programas de verão, cursos especializados, cursos em
turmas regulares e outros. Em conjunto com o IA, esses
alunos definem o melhor programa para suas necessidades,
além das disciplinas a serem cursadas e período de
permanência. Em contrapartida, oferecemos reciprocidade
a essas instituições, gerando interesse internacional por
nossa Escola e recebendo estudantes estrangeiros em
nossos cursos, que compartilhando suas experiências,
também enriquecem nosso meio acadêmico.
FGV/EESP around the world...
Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Espanha
FGV/EESP is in constant process of establishing alliances
with the best institutions worldwide. In these universities
and schools, students count on diversified learning
programs, such as: summer courses, specialized courses,
regular courses programs and others. Together with the IA,
students decide the best program options for their needs,
besides the courses to take and length of stay. On the other
hand, we offer reciprocity to these institutions, creating an
international interest for our School and welcoming foreign
students in our courses, which, by sharing their experiences
with us, also enrich our horizons.
Como Funciona?
Quem Pode Participar? 
Alunos regularmente matriculados nos cursos da FGV/
EESP podem participar dos programas de intercâmbio
(preferencialmente a partir do 7º semestre), desde que
preencham os requisitos necessários para isso, como por
exemplo, fluência na língua de destino, média geral mínima
exigida, dentre outros.
Esses programas acontecem de duas formas basicamente,
através de acordo bilateral ou free mover. No primeiro caso,
para cada aluno da FGV/EESP enviado à instituição parceira,
um aluno dessa instituição é recebido em nossa Escola. Na
segunda modalidade, não existe essa obrigação.
Who can participate?
Students enrolled in all FGV/EESP courses can participate in
the Exchange Programs (preferably from the 7th semester
on), since they satisfy the requirements needed, such as,
fluency in the language, minimum average grade demanded,
among others.

These programs happen in two basic ways: through a bilateral
or a free mover agreement. In the first case, for each FGV/
EESP student sent to the partner institution, another comes
to FGV. In the second case, there isn’t this duty.

O intercâmbio pra Barcelona foi um divisor de águas na minha vida
acadêmica. No começo, estava um tanto quanto apreensivo com tudo
que encontraria por lá, faculdade, professores, moradia, amigos, viagens...
Com a ajuda do International Affairs (IA) e com o suporte da Universidade
Autônoma de Barcelona, minha experiência foi muito gratificante. Escolhi
as disciplinas com o apoio do IA e do coordenador da EESP, tendo a certeza
de ter feito boas escolhas.
Ter optado por morar na Vila Universitária fez toda a diferença na minha
experiência, podendo ficar perto de outros intercambistas e outros
Espanhóis e com uma infraestrutura completa para abrigar os estudantes.
Sempre havia programas para o grupo de intercâmbio, passeios para
conhecer a cidade, picnics, esportes, reuniões, festas, cursos e viagens
pela Europa. Isso nos aproximou bastante e fiz amigos mexicanos,
espanhóis, chilenos, tchecos, poloneses, americanos, eslovenos, italianos,
portugueses, franceses, ingleses, chineses, enfim, de todo canto do mundo.
O ótimo sistema de transporte público facilitava bastante nossa locomoção
pela cidade. O curso foi bastante enriquecedor e os professores foram
fantásticos, dando o apoio necessário para que todos acompanhassem
as disciplinas sem maiores dificuldades. O idioma, o Catalão, não foi um
problema já que praticamente toda a população também fala espanhol e
no momento de escolher as matérias, o idioma em que ela será ministrada
(espanhol, catalão ou inglês) já é informado.
Minha experiência foi única e carregarei comigo recordações, amigos e
aprendizados pro resto da vida. Se pudesse, recomeçaria tudo de novo!

“The exchange experience to Barcelona was a watershed in my academic
life. At first, I was somewhat apprehensive about everything I would
find there, like faculty, housing, friends, travels.With the support of the
International Affairs department and of UAB (Universitat Autonóma de
Barcelona), my experience was very rewarding. I also have chosen the
courses with the support of the IA and of the coordinator of EESP, making
sure that I have made good choices.
Living in the University Village has made all the difference in my experience,
since I could be near to other exchange students and locals within a
complete infrastructure to house students.
There were always activities for the exchange group, like short tours in
the city, picnics, sports, meetings, parties, courses and trips in Europe.
This brought us together and I have made friends from all over the world
like Mexicans, Spanish, Chileans, Czechs, Poles, Americans, Slovenians,
Italians, Portuguese, French, English and Chinese.
The excellent public transportation system greatly facilitated our ways
through the city. The course was very enlightening and teachers were
fantastic, giving all necessary support to follow subjects without major
difficulties. Language, Catalan, was not a problem since almost all the
population also speaks Spanish and when choosing courses, the language
in which they were thought (Spanish, Catalan or English) was already
informed.
My experience was unique and I will carry on memories, friends and
learning for life. If I could I would start it all over again!”

“Decidi fazer o intercâmbio, pois me interessei por algumas matérias na
Boston University muito diferentes das matérias que já tinha tido aqui na
FGV. Durante as 6 semanas do “Summer Term” pude aproveitar tudo o que
a universidade pôde me oferecer, desde aulas, até o acervo bibliográfico e
atividades que a Boston University oferecia. Escolhi realizar o intercâmbio na
Boston University principalmente pelas matérias oferecidas e os professores
que iriam ministrar os cursos, com certeza o fato da universidade estar
localizada em Boston contribuiu para a minha escolha, já que é uma cidade
muito interessante. A experiência foi ótima, os cursos foram muito bons
e agregaram bastante conhecimento aos temas estudados. Eu optei por
freqüentar dois cursos durante esse período: “Behavioral Economics “e
“Life-cycle Economics”.
Gostei muito da universidade, além do campus ter uma ótima localização,
tudo era muito perto o que facilitava o meu dia-a-dia, as salas de aula eram
muito perto dos “dorms” (levava em torno de 5 minutos para eu chegar
nas aulas e na biblioteca também). A infraestrutura da escola era muito
boa também, muito espaço para estudar e ótimos lugares para comer
também, tudo dentro do Campus. Havia também um apoio muito grande a
alunos internacionais, por ser uma cidade universitária, Boston tem muitos
estudantes internacionais e a faculdade dava muito apoio a nós todos.
A cidade, por ser uma das mais antigas do país, tem muitas coisas para
conhecer, eu tive a oportunidade de passear pela cidade, aos finais de
semana, conhecendo locais históricos. A cidade é muito segura também
e com o ótimo transporte público oferecido é possível a chegar a quase
todos os bairros de Boston. O que eu achei mais interessante é a faculdade
oferecer os cursos que são ministrados normalmente nos semestres,
porém durante o verão. O curso fica muito mais acelerado, mas não perde
o conteúdo, acho que isso facilita para que mais pessoas possam realizar
o intercâmbio.”

“I decided to take part in the exchange program because I was interested in
some courses at Boston University that were quite different from the ones
I had at FGV. During the six weeks of the “Summer Term”, I could enjoy all
that the university could offer me, from classes to the bibliographic archive
and activities offered. I have chosen Boston University mainly because of
courses offered and professors that would teach the courses; of course,
the fact that the university is in Boston contributed to my choice, since
it is a very interesting city. The experience was great, the courses were
very good and added considerable knowledge to the topics studied. I have
attended two classes during this period: “Behavioral Economics” and “LifeCycle Economics”.
I really liked the university, besides the great location of the campus.
Everything was very close which made my daily life easier (the classrooms
were very close to the “dorms” and it took me about 5 minutes to get to
classes and the library as well). The infrastructure of the school was also
very good, there was plenty of space to study and great places to eat well, all
within the campus. There is also a great support for international students.
Being a college town, Boston has many international students and it made it
very supportive to us all. The city, being one of the oldest in the country, has
many things to know. I had the opportunity to go on some tours through the
city on the weekends, when I had the chance of knowing historical sites.
The city is also very safe and you can reach all the neighbourhoods using
the public transportation offered. What I found most interesting is that the
university offers courses that are usually taught in semesters, during the
summer. The course is much faster, but it does not lose its content and I
believe it makes things easier for more people to take part in the exchange
experience. “

Fazer intercâmbio na Universidade de St Gallen foi talvez a experiência mais rica
da minha vida. Estar em uma das melhores faculdades de língua alemã, poder
escolher entre uma infinita gama de matérias, desenvolver o conhecimento tanto
da língua inglesa quanto da alemã e ainda conhecer muitas pessoas diferentes
que marcarão sua vida para sempre são algumas das muitas oportunidades que
se obtêm ao fazer este tipo de intercâmbio.
Quando decidi fazer este intercâmbio, eu só havia pensado em todas as coisas
boas que a experiência iria a me oferecer. Mas quando cheguei em St. Gallen me
vi em um país completamente diferente do meu, onde tinha que me virar sozinha
para tudo, estando longe da minha família e amigos. Porém qualquer ansiedade
do momento passou no dia em que fui conhecer a Universidade e fiz muitos
amigos internacionais e brasileiros também, o que me fez sentir mais próxima
de casa. Além disso descobri que St. Gallen é uma cidade universitária repleta
de jovens, onde sempre há algo para fazer. O “buddy system”da Universidade
ajudou muito na adaptação, constantemente criando eventos para reunir os
intercambistas.
De maneira geral, a qualidade e o reconhecimento da Universidade de St. Gallen
junto com a diversidade cultural e linguística, a rica natureza e cultura que a
Suíça tem a oferecer fizeram o meu semestre ser incrível e eu recomendo a
todos os alunos da graduação tirarem proveito desta grande oportunidade que
a FGV/EESP nos providencia!

Taking part in an exchange program at the University of St. Gallen was perhaps
the richest experience of my life. Being in one of the best german language
schools, having the choice between an infinite range of courses, developing
the knowledge of both English and German languages and still meeting many
different people who will change your life forever, are some of the many
opportunities that you have by doing this type of exchange.
When I decided to take this exchange program, I could never imagine all the
good things that this experience would offer me. But when I arrived in St.
Gallen, I found myself in a completely different country from mine, where I had
to decide everything by myself, as I was away from my family and friends. But
any nervousness and anxiety of that moment went away as soon as I went
to the university and met so many international friends and Brazilians as well,
which made me feel closer to my home country. I also found out that St. Gallen
is a college town, full of young people, where there is always something to
do. The “buddy system” at the university helped me to adapt, since they were
constantly organizing events to gather exchange students.
Overall, the quality and recognition of the University of St. Gallen, along with
cultural and linguistic diversity, the rich nature and culture that Switzerland has
to offer, made my semester amazing and I recommend to all undergraduate
students to take advantage of this great opportunity that FGV/EESP provides us!

“Sem dúvidas fazer intercâmbio para estudar em uma universidade fora do país
foi uma das melhores experiências que já vivenciei e defendo a idéia de que
todos devem vivê-la! O meu semestre na Universidade de Tilburg (Holanda) foi
talvez um dos melhores da minha vida. A possibilidade de se fazer amigos de
todos os cantos do mundo; de conhecer as mais diversas culturas; de desafiarse saindo da nossa própria zona de conforto aqui do Brasil; de estudar em
uma renomada universidade internacional, aprendendo economia em inglês e
conhecendo um novo sistema educacional; além de poder viajar pela Europa
e viver as melhores histórias são alguns dos pontos que eu destacaria sobre o
meu intercâmbio!
O fato de estar longe de casa, amigos e família é um outro ponto forte dessa
“aventura”, o que inquestionavelmente nos faz amadurecer ainda mais e
valorizar pequenas coisas da nossa rotina. Além disso, a gama de diferentes
disciplinas que eu pude escolher em Tilburg, com enfoques que eu não encontro
facilmente no Brasil, foi outro fator que tornou o meu intercâmbio ainda mais
especial - sem contar que tais matérias, com um alto nível acadêmico, eram
ministradas por excelentes professores. Por fim, a organização e atenção dessa
Universidade, bem como da entidade que cuida dos intercambistas (e das suas
festas também), somados ao alto grau de civilidade da sociedade holandesa só
tornam esse semestre longe de casa ainda mais prazeroso! Sem dúvidas eu só
guardo boas memórias e grandes amigos desse semestre; volto para o Brasil
com uma nova (rica) visão de mundo!”

“No doubt that taking part in an exchange program to study at a university
abroad was one of the best things I have ever experienced and I support the
idea that everyone should live it! My semester at the University of Tilburg
(Netherlands) was perhaps one of the best of my life. The possibility of making
friends from all corners of the world; meeting the most diverse cultures; leaving
my comfort zone here in Brazil; studying in a renowned international university;
learning Economics in English and knowing a new educational system; besides
being able to travel through Europe and living the best stories are some of the
points I would emphasize about my exchange!
The fact of being away from home, friends and family is another strong point of
this “adventure”, which undoubtedly makes us more mature and appreciate the
small things in our routine. Furthermore, the range of different disciplines that I
could choose in Tilburg, with approaches that I I can’t find easily in Brazil was
another factor that made my exchange even more special - not to mention that
such courses, with a high academic level, were taught by excellent professors.
Finally, the organization and attention of this University, as well as the entity that
takes care of exchange students (and their parties as well), plus the high level
of civility of the Dutch society only make this semester away from home even
more enjoyable! For sure, I will keep good memories and great friends from this
semester and I come back to Brazil with a new and enriched world view! “
