Friday, April 9th
 Morning: Nine-Hole Golf “competition” at the Morgado Golf near Portimao.
Golfers of all standards are welcome.
 Welcome lunch at the beach restaurant “Arte Nautica” in Armação de Pera.
 Free afternoon.
 Evening: Gastronomic Dinner at Vila Joya, the only 2 Michelin starred
restaurant in Portugal, organised by the owner Joy Jung, Vice Chargée de
Mission and prepared specially for us by Chef Dieter Koschina, Vice
Conseiller Culinaire.
Saturday, April 10th
 Boat cruise along the coast of the Algarve.
 Visit to the “Adega do Cantor” (the winery jointly owned by Sir Cliff
Richard, Chevalier d’Honneur ) and a tasting of their wines.
 Typical Algarvian lunch.
 Evening: Cocktail, Induction Ceremony and Gastronomic Dinner-Dance
(black-tie) at Vila-Vita, near Porches. Their Chef Hans Neuner has just been
awarded a well deserved Michelin star.
Sunday, April 11th
 Annual General Meeting of the Portuguese Bailliage followed by a
 Farewell Brunch at Vila-Vita.

MORGADO GOLF COURSE “NINE-HOLE COMPETITION”
The 18-hole-course was integrated harmoniously into the surrounding landscape and has five par 5,
nine par 4 and four par 3 holes. With 6.399 m it ranks among the longest courses of the region. A
special feature are the great greens, which demand a precise putting. From the clubhouse you have a
magnificent view over the course, especially from the south terrace.
A good start to a relaxing week-end, we will have an easy Nine-Hole Stableford
Competition to whet our appetite for the beach lunch that follows. We have space
for 20 golfers of all abilities and prizes for everybody. We have even included
buggies in the green-fee to make it easier so don’t be shy and join in!
Dress code: Golf attire, Good humour, Soft spikes…
Transport / shared cars will be organised to Armação de Pera for the “Welcome Lunch”

Golfers and non golfers will meet for our “welcome lunch” at this superb fish
restaurant on the beach of Armação de Pera. Fantastic views, fantastic food,
fantastic service, this is one of the top beach restaurants in the Algarve .

Joy Jung, the owner of Vila Joya, Vice Chargée de Mission and her Chef Dieter
Koshina, our Vice Conseiller Culinaire have organised an exceptional dinner for the
Chaîne. Vila Joya is not only the best restaurant in Portugal, the only one to have
attained 2 Michelin Stars in the country, but the Hotel and the Joy Jung Spa are
also considered as one of the best resorts in the world! Space is limited at this venue,

Boat Trip, Wine Tasting and Lunch
The only way to really appreciate the amazing beauty of the Algarve coast is from
the sea. We have therefore chartered a private boat to explore the fascinating
coastline and caves in the morning. After our little cruise we will visit the “Adega
do Cantor” in Guia, near Albufeira, for a tour of the winery where Sir Cliff
Richard’s wines are made, and a well deserved tasting of some of their wines.
Those Confreres who don’t wish to join the cruise will be able to meet us directly at the “Adega”.
The wines will be presented by Nigel and Max Birch, Sir Cliff’s
partners and wine-makers of the “Vida Nova” and “Onda

A typical Algarvian lunch will follow at a nearby restaurant.

Saturday April 10th, 7pm
The Grand Chapitre will take place at Vila Vita and start
with a cocktail at 7pm, followed at 7:30 by the Induction
Ceremony. This will be followed by the Black-tie Gala
Dinner organised by Kurt Gillig, Vice Chargé de Mission and
prepared specially for the Chaîne by the Austrian Chef Hans
Neuner, one of the most talented chefs of his generation.
Hans has just been awarded a well deserved Michelin Star!
Towards the end of the dinner, we will hold an auction of rare wines presented by
our Confreres in support of the Chaine Foundation, after which there will be
dancing for all ages.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The Algarve is a major tourist destination, and a paradise for golfers! FARO AIRPORT is well
connected to all Europeans cities, by both regular and low-cost airlines.
Our hotels are close to each other, and within ½ hour from the airport by taxi (cost
approximately 50 Euros depending on the time of arrival), or should you wish to extend your
stay, we can organise a cheap car rental.
Please note that transfers from the airport to your hotel can be arranged but are NOT included.
The region is also well connected to the European motorway system via the A2 & A22 to Lisbon
& Seville, and also by Express train to Paris & Madrid (via Lisbon) and Porto.
We have negotiated special rates with the hotels, with the possibility of extending your stay.
