OUR PARISH MISSION:
“FINDING JOY IN FOLLOWING JESUS”
BEGINS MONDAY EVENING AT 7:00P.M.,
FOLLOWED BY TUEDAY AND WEDNESDAY
EVENINGS, SAME TIME. A SPECIAL AND WARM
WELCOME TO MICHAEL DOPP AND HIS FAMILY
WHO HAVE COME FROM OTTAWA TO GUIDE THE
MISSION OF RENEWAL FOR OUR CATHOLIC LIVES
Our mission coincides with another gift from Quebec. The
Cathedral Basilica of Notre Dame-de-Quebec is celebrating its
350th anniversary this year, and is dedicated to Mary under the
title of the Immaculate Conception. This historic site marks the
footprint of the Church in Nouvelle France, and the centre of
evangelization throughout North America. The Archdiocese of
Quebec is also the primatial See in Canada and its first bishop
is Blessed Francois de Laval de Montmorency. To celebrate
our faith throughout Canada, the Knights of Columbus are
hosts to a copy of a famous Icon of Mary Immaculate that is
in the sanctuary of Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica. This icon
will arrive in time for the Saturday evening Mass, and be given
prominence at most of the Masses of the weekend, and remain
with us during the week. It will be here for visits to St. Michael’s to pray for the intercession of our Blessed Mother to
help us in our times. Let us ask her to pray for us as we plant a
new Christian culture in our society that is in so much need of
Love who is God, and who therefore gives order to everything
in our existence. It is a time of gratitude for the Gift of our
life, and all the gifts that flow from the creating hand of God
through Jesus his Son, born of Mary, the Immaculate Mother of
God and Mother of the Church.

Russell St. Leamington or Amazon or Kindle. Our meeting
will be on March 4, 2014.
Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time
At times we allow our problems to get us down. We fear, fret
and worry about many things, and lose sight of the one thing
necessary, which is to live a life pleasing to our heavenly Father.
First Reading (Isaiah 49:14-15): The message of this is short
and sweet. It is that, come what may, God will never forget us.
Second Reading (1Cor4:1-5): God is the only one who can
judge rightly, because he alone knows the secrets of the heart.
Gospel (Matthew 6:24-34): Christ urges us to avoid useless
fretting and worrying about material things, and to place our
lives in the hands of our heavenly Father, to whom we are important and precious.

Led by: Michael Dopp, Catholic Evangelist
When: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday

Joy is Contagious - cannot be suppressed; it is ‘magnanimous’
- the thing that makes a soul great.
In the word so of St. Francis: “it overflows into everything a
Christian does bountifully, refusing limits, irrepressible, and
like a playful energetic puppy “cannot be held at heel.”
Please pray for the members of our parish family who
passed away this week:
Sandy Snider and Darlene Kelly both of our parish
Manuel Quadros, died in Toronto, brother of Lazarus
Quadros & Juvenalia Aguiar of our parish
Rocco Lemme, died in Italy, brother of Giuseppina Pallato of our
parish
Saint of the Week St Polycarp - February 23
Polycarp is on of the Fathers of the
early Church, and his letter to the
Philippians is one of the early
pieces of Christian writing in existence today. A disciple of the apostle John, he was a leader of the second generation of Christians, the firt
Christians who were not eyewitnesses to the death of and resurrection of Our Lord. Extremely influential in the catechesis and initiation an of new Christians, he was
named bishop of Smyrna, located in modern-day Turkey.
Polycarp was martyred for his faith about about the year 155, at
the age of 86. He is a patron of those suffering from earaches.
