Portugal excels with 32 medals in the 2012 China Best Value Wine & Spirits Awards, including 2
Double Gold and 12 Gold medals.
(Hong Kong, March 19th 2012) China Wine & Spirits Awards recently hosted the first-ever China Best Value Wine & Spirits Awards 2012 in The
Mira Hotel on the 24th February.
Portugal received 32 medals in the 2012 China Best Value Wine & Spirits Awards, including 2 Double Gold and 12 Gold awards.
Wineries entered were Companhia agricola do Sanguinhal, Gloria Reynolds and Quinta do Ferro.
The first event of its kind, the China Best Value Wine & Spirits Awards were created to give lower price point wines the opportunity to shine and
to be further exposed to the rapidly growing market. The competition compared wines against others of the same price point that would suit the
China market.
The next competition, The China Wine Awards & the China Spirits Awards 2012, will be held in September this year.
The China Wine Awards & The China Spirits Awards have a different panel of judges in the competitions, selecting only the top-tier wine/spirits
buyers, distributors, food & beverage directors and sommeliers based in Greater China who really understand the growing Chinese wine and
spirits market.
