DOWANOL™ TPnB Glycol Ether
DOWANOL™ TPnB Glycol Ether is a very slow-evaporating, hydrophobic glycol ether with outstanding surface
tension-lowering ability; ideal where high polymer solvency and residence time are required. DOWANOL™ TPnB
is the slowest-evaporating member of the family of DOWANOL™ Glycol Ethers. DOWANOL™ TPnB is a high
boiling, colorless solvent with low viscosity and practically no odor. Due to its length and hydrophobic structure,
DOWANOL™ TPnB has a high organic solubility, low water solubility, and a high boiling point. XZ96806.00 is a

broader specifications version of TPnB for Building and Construction applications. DALPAD C is a known trade
name for DOWANOL TPnB at some Coatings accounts.
DOWANOL™ TPnB Glycol Ether Main Uses
Ceramic and Printing Inks: DOWANOL™ TPnB is used as solvent in many printing inks applications such as:
• Ceramic inks
• In ballpoint and felt-tip pens
• Stamp pads
• Textile and decorative printing
• To dissolve metal complex in inks containing metal precursors nanoparticles
Adhesives: DOWANOL™ TPnB is used as coalescent and co-solvent agent in many adhesives technologies
such as:
• Epoxy
• Acrylic
• Polyurethane in some applications also as NMP replacement
Syntheses-specialty Product Manufacture: DOWANOL™ TPnB is used in various applications such as:
• Replacement for Phthalate plasticizers for PVC industry.
• Building block to produce ester-based plasticizers for thermoplastic applications like PVC plastisols.
• Building block in post-polymerization treatment in dehalogenation of polymeric materials used in organic
electronic devices like OLEDs and OPVs.
• Viscosity controls in silica-based gels for cleaning and decontamination applications.
• Hydrotrope additive in the electrodeposition of copper on various substrates.
• Compatibilizer between non-polar refrigerant lubrication fluids hydrofluorocarbons in compression
refrigeration apparatus.

DALPAD™ C Glycol Ether Main Uses

Coatings and paints: DALPAD C is used in many coatings and paints applications such as:
• Water-based paints as low-odor efficient coalescing agent for waterborne paints; it provides excellent film
formation. DALPAD™ C is a NOT-VOC according to Decopaint directive 2004/42/CE. DALPAD™ C is
listed as SVOC in Annex B of ISO 11890-2. Provides excellent scrub resistance.
• Solvent-based paints as clear, odorless, light yellowish, mobile solvent.
XZ96206.00 Glycol Ether Main Uses
Detergents and cleaners, including electronics industry: XZ96206.00 is a low-odor, high boiling point and
organic solubility solvent for heavy duty cleaners, floor wax strippers and degreasers. It acts as a coupling agent
to penetrate grease and oils. XZ96206.00 can be mainly used as:
• Solvent in graffiti/adhesives/coating removal applications.
• Solvent in producing dioxirane-based multi-purpose bleaching solution for use on laundries, carpets, hard
surfaces, bathroom surfaces, floors.
Building & Construction: XZ96206.00 is used as additive in concretes and asphalts.
• Shrinkage-reducing agent
• To improve concrete strength
Mining Industry and Oilfield chemicals: XZ96206.00 is mainly used as solvent in applications such as:
• Environmentally friendly solvent oil, soluble in drilling and extraction fluids.
• Frother/surfactant commonly used to reduce bubble size in mineral flotation.
• Polar solvent to dissolve lubricant oil in micro-capsulation process to reduce wear and improve engine
fuel efficiency.
