FRAMEWORK:
In the Dance Facilitation subject the student will have the opportunity to learn the basics of dance and to reflect the
cultural importance of it by making their integration in tourism facilitation projects. They can also understand the
Dance as a process to build up Cultural, Social and Human awareness, in order to develop critical thinking that can
sustain new opinions, creations and interpretations about Dance applied to Facilitation. This study will help to
reflect about the relationship between dance with the global phenomenon of Tourism, which will be developed by
practical works that shall provide the essential tools to a more sustainable use of tourism resources and its
relationship to dance.It will also develop teamwork skills, self-awareness, motivation and a better acceptance of the
others, as well.
Learning outcomes of the curricular unit: (maximum de 1000 characters)
It is intended that students acquire knowledge Animation Tourism enabling them to:
Knowing the basics of dance;
Recognize the role of social dance throughout history;
Know different types of dance and methodologies applied to animation;
Understand and identify the different currents of today related to dance;
Develop the ability to organize and streamline activities in terms of dance applied to tourism activities;
Understand the need to cultivate multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary phenomenon of tourism and entertainment
tourism;
Learn to apply the knowledge and understanding acquired capacity in order to demonstrate a professional
approach to tourism activities;
Using the creative potential of the various types of dance as a factor in personal development;
Identify and define animation activities environmental, sporting, leisure and cultural programs to be included in
tourist entertainment.

PROGRAMME
Syllabus: (maximum de 1000 characters)
1. General framework, and basic specific terminology of dance.
2. The role of dance in society throughout history.
3. The dance in various cultural contexts (traditional dances, entertainment dances, children dances, folk dances,
classical dances, Latin dances, African dances, contemporary dance, hip-hop, creative dance, 5Rhythms meditation
dance, celebration rituals and tribal dance ...) - Origins and basic techniques.
4. Program Development in dance entertainment activities.
Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's objectives: (maximum de 1000 characters)
The syllabus of UC are consistent and in line with the objectives of that, since students will have opportunity to
learn the basics of dance and reflect on the cultural importance of the same with a view to their integration
projects in tourism activities. This study will help to reflect the relationship of Dancing with the international
phenomenon of tourism, which will be developed for the theoretical and practical work developed that shall
provide the tools necessary and critical to the sustainable use of tourism resources and their relationship with
Dance.
LECTURING METHODOLOGY:
Presential:
Lectures - application of theoretical and practical knowledge, gathering relevant information, developing critical
skills and autonomy;
P2 - Projects or work of short duration, to be held during the semester, with introduction written and / or oral
classroom.
Laboratory Practice - Practice dance and bodily expressions applied to animation;
P4 - Reports of classes / activities;
P5 - laboratory work or field - practical classes, of an experimental nature, with different genres and aesthetic level
of dance.
Self-work:
Research on the topic of the course.
Watching videos and reporting on the dance practice applied to animation and Tourism.

ASSESSMENT:
Explanation: Under the Rules of Graduate Training and Postgraduate IPL.
Continuous Assessment:
Lectures and practical - written assessment to the achievement of two tests. 25% + 25%
Practice - Evaluation of teachers proposed work in classes. 25% + 25%
Students performance and commitment will be evaluated in a lesson by lesson basis and in each proposed exercise
or activity. The assessment of the practical component will be a sum of these observations / evaluations.
Note: Students who obtain a minimum score of 9.5 in any of the components, theoretical or practical, is exempted
from the conduct of examination, the mentioned grade will be considered for this purpose.
Exam:
Lectures and practical - written assessment by examination in a normal period or appeal. 50%
Practice - The practical examination is concerned to the observation of the learning process and skills, similar to
those developed during regular classes (50%).
Note: Students with a student worker status may ask the teacher to replace the note of the work by discussing it
with the teacher
In any assessment of schemes, continuous or examination for exploitation, the student must at least obtain a
minimum grade of 9.5 in the theoretical component and 9.5 in the practical component.

Being a UC balanced between theoretical and practical classes is crucial initially expose and present the theoretical
matters defined in the program. During class stimulates the debate, the discussion of the themes developed and
the interaction between students and / or working groups, while promoting critical thinking, research and
investigation of materials.
The student is encouraged to practice animation activities to promote the dance, encourages the student is still to
structure, organize, practical work and research projects by providing the tools and / or relevant practical tools for
implementation.
The evaluation of UC provides two different times. A theoretical evaluation of two tests and one practical
assessment with the completion, submission and discussion of two research work and / or performance, thus
maintaining consistency with the objectives proposed in that object will review the theoretical knowledge acquired
as well as the application of such knowledge in practice.
