Produkte entstehen aus meisterhaftem Wissen und bodenständiger Tradition. Nicht
zu vergessen das hausgemachte Eis, mit fantasievollen Sorten, hergestellt aus
hochwertigen Zutaten. Es gibt viele Geschäfte, in denen man diese Köstlichkeiten
kaufen kann, um sie dann mit Freunden zu kosten (siehe auch “Einheimische
Köstlichkeiten”, Seite 149).

Garda Trentino has a huge range of local specialities such as carne salada, olive
bread and biscuits, Garda Trentino D.O.P. Extra Virgin olive oil, wines produced from
native grapes, locally produced Trentino balsamic vinegar - grappa, Torbole broccoli
and Vino Santo - Slow Food Presidia - Dro Plums D.O.P., sweet chestnuts and fruit
of the forest. This produce comes to you from expert farmers and age-old traditions.
And let's not forget the local ice cream which comes in so many different flavours
and is handmade using the finest ingredients. There are so many shops where you
can buy these delicious treats to eat with your friends (see also "The joys of our
table" > page 149).

La città giardino. Soleggiata, intensa,
tranquilla, è piacevole riposare sulle panchine
disseminate nei giardini ricchi di fiori
colorati, di alberi secolari che testimoniano
la mitezza del clima: l’atmosfera asburgica
è palpabile ovunque. Il centro storico, tra
palazzi rinascimentali e ville liberty, si
sviluppa attorno alla rupe, sulla quale si erge
l’antico castello, immortalato e reso famoso
dall’acquarello del Dürer. Paese natale del
pittore Giovanni Segantini è oggi patria degli
amanti dell’arrampicata.

Gärten voller bunter Blumen, Jahrhunderte alter Bäume, die Beweis für das milde Klima
sind, zu erholen: Die Habsburger Atmosphäre ist überall zu spüren. Das historische
Zentrum, zwischen Renaissance-Palästen und Liberty-Villen, befindet sich rund um
den Fels, auf der die alte Burg steht, die durch das Aquarell von Dürer unsterblich und
berühmt wurde. Arco ist der Geburtsort von dem Maler Giovanni Segantini und heute
Heimat der Kletterer.
The garden town. Sunkissed, intense, tranquil... so relaxing just to sit on a park bench
surrounded by colourful flowers and historic trees, living proof of the mildness of the
climate: there is a palpable Hapsburgian atmosphere everywhere you go. The historic
centre with its renaissance palaces and art nouveau buildings nestles beneath the rock
of the ancient castle immortalised in Dürer's watercolour. This is the birthplace of the
painter Giovanni Segantini and today it is a veritable mecca for rock climbers.
Lo shopping ad Arco si concentra nelle vie del centro
storico: via Vergolano e via Segantini, cuore pulsante della città, nelle piccole
vie laterali e nel Foro Boario. Negozi altamente specializzati per il climbing e
l’arrampicata sportiva, alcuni presenti da molti anni, hanno conquistato una
clientela internazionale per l’alta qualità dei prodotti e la professionalità degli
addetti del settore. Ma anche negozi di abbigliamento per tutte le tasche, capi
casual, scarpe e accessori delle marche più prestigiose. Oggetti per la casa,

Oltre i giardini del centro altri graziosi negozi vi attendono; centri commerciali
e garden center si trovano dislocati sulla via S. Caterina, raggiungibile anche
con mezzi pubblici. E alla fine degli acquisti, non perdetevi un gustoso gelato
artigianale o un caffè sulla Veranda del Casinò municipale, già passeggiata
invernale degli Asburgo, luogo dove il sole sembra non tramontare mai.

sure to have an ice cream or coffee on the Veranda of the town Casino, once a winter
destination of the Hapsburgs, a place where the sun never seems to go down.

In questo piccolo centro dell’entroterra, noto
per le famose Susine, recentemente insignite
del marchio D.O.P., e per gli antichi porteghi, si respira ancora un’aria di altri
tempi. Consigliamo una sosta al Ponte romano nella frazione di Ceniga, un bagno
di sole sulla piccola spiaggia di ghiaia bianca e un tuffo rinfrescante nelle acque
del fiume per entrare in perfetta sintonia con la natura.
In diesem kleinen Zentrum im Hinterland, bekannt für die berühmten Susinen, die
kürzlich das Zeichen D.O.P. erhalten haben, und für die alten Eingänge, atmet
man noch die Luft vergangener Zeiten ein. Wir empfehlen eine Rast an der “Ponte
romano” in Ceniga, ein Sonnenbad am kleinen Strand mit den weißen Steinen und
ein erfrischendes Bad im Fluss, um in perfekten Einklang mit der Natur zu kommen.
This little inland town famed for its plums, that recently awarded the D.O.P.
Kitemark, and for the old porteghi, or arcades, has still an air of years gone by. If you
really want to get a feel for the natural surroundings, we recommend you stop off at
the Roman bridge in the hamlet of Ceniga, sunbathe for a while on the little beach of
white shingle and take a refreshing dip in the river to cool down.

ubicato sulla statale per Trento, che da anni è il punto di riferimento per gli abitanti
del luogo. Lì potrete comodamente parcheggiare la vostra macchina negli ampi
spazi antistanti i negozi. Non rinunciate, però, anche a quattro passi tra le vie della
località, per un buon caffè e un momento di vero relax.
Der Einkaufsbummel dreht sich in Dro rund um das kleine
Einkaufszentrum, dass sich an der Staatsstraße nach Trient befindet, und dass seit Jahren
Anlaufstelle der Einheimischen ist. Dort kann man bequem auf den großen Parkplätzen vor
den Geschäften parken, aber ihr solltet nicht auf einen Spaziergang durch die Straßen des
Orts und einen Kaffee oder einen Moment echter Entspannung verzichten.

been a reference point for locals for years. Located on the main road in the direction of
Trento, you will be sure to find parking in front of the shops. But don't forget to take a
stroll down the streets of the town for a coffee and simply to relax.

Sarà l’imponente castello ad accogliervi in questa piccola località del Garda
Trentino dove il verde, la pace e il silenzio regnano sovrani. Famosa per i suoi
marroni, coltivati con metodi naturali, è nota anche per la coltivazione dei piccoli
frutti, grazie a una condizione ambientale molto favorevole: il periodo di raccolta
va da giugno a ottobre.
Die imponierende Burg wird euch in diesem kleinen Ort im Garda Trentino
empfangen, in dem das Grün, der Frieden und die Ruhe souverän regieren. Er ist
berühmt wegen seiner Maronen, die mit natürlichen Methoden angebaut werden
und auch wegen der Beeren, die Dank der sehr guten Wetterbedingungen hier
gedeihen: Die Ernte dauert von Juni bis Oktober.
The imposing castle will be your first impression of this little town in Garda Trentino
where nature, peace and silence reign supreme. Famed for its sweet chestnuts,
grown using natural methods, Drena is also well-known for forest fruit thanks to its
climate. Harvest is between June and October.

Mercati settimanali
Passeggiare per bancarelle, frugare con pazienza per trovare il capo che fa
per voi, i mercati settimanali offrono merce di ogni genere e la possibilità
d’incontrare la gente del luogo. Il mese inizia sempre con il mercato di Arco che
si trova al Foro Boario il primo e il terzo mercoledì del mese dalle 8.00 alle 13.00;
a Riva del Garda si svolge nel centro cittadino il secondo e il quarto mercoledì del
mese dalle 8.00 alle 14.00; a Torbole sul Garda, invece, è il secondo e il quarto
martedì del mese dalle 8.00 alle 13.00 (aprile > settembre).

An Ständen entlangschlendern, geduldig das für euch passende Kleidungsstück
suchen, die Wochenmärkte bieten Waren aller Art und die Möglichkeit, Einheimische
zu treffen. Der Monat fängt immer mit dem Markt in Arco an. Er findet am Foro
Boario, jeweils am ersten und am dritten Mittwoch im Monat, von 8.00 bis 13.00
Uhr, statt. In Riva del Garda findet er jeden zweiten und vierten Mittwoch im Monat,
von 8.00 bis 14.00 Uhr, im Zentrum statt. In Torbole sul Garda dagegen jeden
zweiten und vierten Dienstag im Monat, von 8.00 bis 13.00 Uhr (April > September).
Weekly markets
Stroll among the stalls, patiently rummage until you find something that's just you.
You will find all kinds of everything at the weekly markets as well as meeting the
locals. The month always begins with the Arco market at Foro Boario on the first
and third Wednesday of the month from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm; in Riva del Garda the
market is held in the town centre on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month
from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm, while the market in Torbole sul Garda is on the second
and fourth Tuesday of the month from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm (April > September).

Si svolge ad Arco ogni terzo sabato del mese ed è diventato un appuntamento
imperdibile per gli appassionati di bric-à-brac alla ricerca degli oggetti più curiosi.
Flohmärkte
Sie finden jeden dritten Samstag im Monat in Arco statt und sind zu einem festen
Termin derjenigen geworden, die Trödel lieben und die kuriosesten Sachen suchen.
Flea Market
Held in Arco every third Saturday of the month the flea market has become a regular
appointment with shoppers hunting for bric-à-brac and curiosities.
Mercato Contadino
Questo mercato è nato per volontà del
Comune di Arco con lo scopo di favorire
il contatto diretto tra produttore e
consumatore, incentivare il consumo dei
prodotti di stagione e per far conoscere le
aziende agricole del territorio. Si svolge
ogni mercoledì dalle 7.30 alle 13.30
(esclusi i festivi) nell’area adiacente a viale
delle Palme.
Bauernmarkt
Dieser Markt wurde von der Verwaltung von
Arco mit dem Ziel ins Leben gerufen, den direkten Kontakt zwischen Erzeuger und
Konsument herzustellen, den Verbrauch von Saisonprodukten zu fördern und die
Landwirtschaftsbetriebe der Region bekannt zu machen. Er findet jeden Mittwoch,
von 7.30 bis 13.30 Uhr (ausgenommen Feiertage), in der Nähe der Viale delle
Palme statt.
Farmers’ Market
This market was set up by Arco Town Hall in order to put producers and
consumers in direct contact, encourage people to consume seasonal produce,
and also to promote the farms of the area. It is held every Wednesday from 7.30
am to 1.30 pm (except for public holidays) in the area beside viale delle Palme.
