Mr. Steve Wong was born in Hong Kong and educated in Hong Kong Polytechnic and Warwick University, UK. Mr. Wong is the Founder and Managing Director of BillionGroup Technologies Limited. With more than twenty-eight years’ electrical and mechanical consultancy experience and professional knowledge, Steve Wong is a professional Energy Consultant with core specialization in Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection for the Building and Manufacturing Industries. With his contribution in the manufacturing industries, Mr. Wong has helped many manufacturers in successfully reducing energy consumption and improving manufacturing competitiveness in their region. Apart from his business, Mr. Wong has been actively serving the community via different channels and organizations including but not limited to HKSAR Government, HKGCC, HKTDC, HKEnCA, FHKI, ESDI and IEAL. _ Dr. K. S. Wang, Vice President and Group Director IC Design Group Hong Kong Applied Science & Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) Dr Wang Keh-chung was appointed to the position of Vice President & Group Director of IC Design Group in April 2009. He is responsible for formulating and implementing R&D strategies, identifying business opportunities, establishing roadmaps, and providing technological solutions for a wide spectrum of IC product development aimed at technology transfer to industrial customers. Before joining ASTRI, he was Chief Engineer of UMC's System & Architecture Support Division in the USA, directing analog/RF IC development and design support. He had 24 years of experience in high-speed IC development and management at Rockwell, Page 1 of 4 Conexant, OpNext, HRL, and UMC. He and his colleagues pioneered the development of GaAs HBT technologies that have been applied broadly in power amplifiers of cellular phones, lightwave communication ICs, and data converters. He built and led IC design teams that realized multi-GHz ADCs, DACs, and 10-40 Gb/s optical communication ICs and products, as well as numerous CMOS analog/RF ICs. Dr Wang was elected an IEEE Fellow in 2012. He was a recipient of Rockwell's 1994 Engineer of the Year Award, and 1995 Chairman's Team Award. He was also a recipient of R&D 100 Awards organized by “R&D Magazine” in 1996. He served in numerous technical, advisory, and community-service committees. He was a guest editor of Journal of Solid-State Circuits. Dr Wang co-authored 150 journal and conference papers in the areas of physics, electronic devices, circuits, and systems. He received a B.S. degree in Physics from National Taiwan University and a Ph.D. degree in Physics from California Institute of Technology. Professor Albert Cheung-Hoi YU, Ph.D, Chairman of Hong Kong Biotechnology Organisation, Chairman & CEO of Hai kang Life Corporation Limited Professor Albert Yu is a renowned neuroscientist and bio-entrepreneur who has devoted over two decades in neuroscience and infectious disease research and had significant contributions to molecular neurobiology and molecular diagnosis. Professor Yu is the ViceDirector of the Neuroscience Research Institute, Professor of the Department of Neurobiology and also a Professor at the Infectious Disease Center at Peking University. He is also the Chairman & CEO of Hai Kang Life Corporation Limited (HKLife), a Hong Kong-based biotechnology company with operations in Hong Kong and Beijing and is specialized in the R&D and commercialization of clinical and veterinary molecular diagnostics, as well as various cutting-edge food testing technologies and their optimization into user-friendly, cost-effective mobile field units (MFUs). HKLife’s core technology, EFADchip, has been recognized as a globally leading technology which will overcome bottlenecks in existing lab-on-a-chip technologies and is expected to revolutionize modern clinical diagnosis. The technology has been awarded the prestigious 2009 Asia Pacific Frost & Sullivan Product Differentiation Excellence Award for In-Vitro Diagnostics. Prof. Yu received his BSc, MSc and PhD from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada and spent subsequent years in the Canada, United States, Hong Kong, and China. Prof. Yu’s broad cross-cultural experience base and active involvement in both the academic and business environment has led to the strategic vision behind the success of the HKLife team. Also, with a global network and an expanding base of established contacts in China, Prof. Yu has been an important facilitator of dialogue regarding the development of biotechnology in Asia. Over his professional and entrepreneurial career, Prof. Yu has published several books and over 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles and conference papers. He is also the co-inventor of numerous technologies with patents granted in major countries. Mr. Peter Sun, Chairman & Executive Director, KFM Kingdom Holdings Ltd. Mr. Sun received his education in the United Kingdom, he has had more than 24 years of experience in the metal stamping industry, he developed his expertise in metal stamping when he first started his metal stamping factory in the name of Kingdom Industrial Company in 1987. (AML) which was an electronic products manufacturing company founded in Hong Kong since 1976. The AML is one of the world's best design and manufacturing services provider of electronics products, including medical and healthcare devices, automotive electronics, telecom products, industrial controls and home automation products. With the expansion in recent years, the AML currently hires over 3000 workforce. Ir Mok is also the Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Medical and Healthcare Device Manufacturers Association which was established for the medical and healthcare device manufacturing industry in Hong Kong in 2003. With over 35 years of solid experience in engineering and manufacturing of electronics, Ir Mok has served as Industry Advisor of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and Hong Kong Government Industry Department, and as Advisory Committee Chairman for local universities including HKU and CUHK. Ir Mok was the Chairman of the Departmental Advisory Committee for the period from 2005 to 2011 and he has also served as an external panel member for the Departmental Review held in April 2013. Representatives from the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation Mr. Allen Ma, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Allen Ma was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) in July 2013. In this role, he leads and manages Hong Kong Science Park, InnoCentre and three Industrial Estates that are entities within HKSTPC. Allen believes technology plays a key role in fuelling Hong Kong’s economic transformation. Hence, he is committed to providing world class infrastructure, technical and support services so as to increase the competitiveness of the city as a regional hub for science and technology innovation while building ever stronger collaboration with the Mainland. Over the past 30 years, Allen has held senior executive positions with a number of multinational corporations primarily in the information and communications technology sector. In his most recent role, Allen worked for British Telecom plc as President, Asia Pac where he led the team to rebuild BT's presence in the region to a profitable scale and strengthen its capability in serving the needs for networked-IT services of multinational corporations. In 2006, he executed an aggressive regional expansion programme which included two major acquisitions in India and Singapore and a Joint Venture in Japan. Between 2001 and 2005, Allen worked for Motorola Inc. Global Telecom Solutions Sector as VP & General Manager of Asia where he coached a team to win many customer contracts worth hundreds of million US$, riding on the growth in demand for cellular services in emerging South and Southeast Asia markets. Through a “Choose to be Chosen” strategy, an improved understanding of customer needs and an uncompromised dedication to customer satisfaction, his team trebled the amount of sales revenue and achieved leading market share in many countries. Allen holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and is a fellow member of both the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK. He is also a Certified Management Accountant of Canada. Page 3 of 4 Mr. Andrew Young, Vice President, Marketing & Sales Mr. Andrew Young Meng-cheung has been the Vice President, Marketing & Sales of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) since September 2011. Mr. Young is responsible for formulating and executing strategies and policies of the Marketing and Sales Division, assisting in drawing up strategies for global marketing & sales as well as customer satisfaction services of the Corporation. He is involved in identifying key potential business tenants and attracting such investments from both overseas and locally. Also under his purview is promoting the development of Hong Kong Science Park Phase 3. Mr. Young brings more than 20 years of experience in senior management positions in the high technology industry and a strong network of contacts in Hong Kong and overseas. In his past work exposures, Mr. Young has successfully identified business opportunities, associated with technology and diverse fields covering bio-tech, physical engineering, material science, design and soft technology. Mr. Young advanced his career in the business development and management consulting area after working several years as an engineer in the construction and defence sectors in Australia. Prior to joining HKSTPC, Mr. Young joined the Hong Kong Productivity Council as Senior Consultant and later was appointed as the Director of Partnership Development of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) where he set up the Institute for Enterprises that forged close partnership between commercial sector companies and the university. He has also set up the PolyU Enterprises Ltd. and managed related technology spin-off companies, including the renowned MyCar electric car project that he initiated in 2002 and implemented all the way through the company’s merger with a US enterprise in 2010. Mr. Young obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the South Australian Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of South Australia. Dr. HL Yiu, Head of Electronics Cluster Dr. Yiu is currently the head of electronic cluster of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. Dr. Yiu has a wealth of technical and management experience in the field of information technology, computing, telecommunications, integrated circuit design, new product development, sales and business development. Dr. Yiu has worked in various departments of the Motorola Semiconductor Hong Kong for fifteen years. He also has experience in start-up companies. When Dr. Yiu served as General Manager of Motorola network and computing systems semiconductor products group Asia, he managed a business operation of more than US$600 million. Prior to this, Dr. Yiu was responsible for a number of technology research and development projects, including the famous Dragon Ball microprocessor for handheld computers, and he is a holder of eight patents. Dr. Yiu graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University with Bachelor of Electronic Engineering. He has Master degrees in Electronic Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, EMBA and MSc Finance of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also has Doctor of Business Administration degree of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is currently a fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). Mr. Simon Sze, Cluster Manager (Biotech), Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation Simon has been working as a Cluster Manager for HKSTPC since Oct of 2007. His main responsibility is to build biotech cluster in Hong Kong Science Park with team members. He has a major focus in medical devices and diagnostics. Before joining HKSTPC, Simon worked as a product manager in GE Healthcare and he had more than 17 years working experience in Greater China. Page 4 of 4
