Das Weinhaus Niepoort ist ein jahrzehntelanger Wegbegleiter des Weinkellers. Dirk
Niepoort ist der wohl wichtigste Taktgeber für die Rotweinkultivierung des Douro-Tales.
Seine Kreation „Fabelhaft“ hat inzwischen Kultstatus. Für die BASF setzte er noch einen
drauf: „Fabulous Foundation Blend“. Auf dem Etikett finden Sie bemerkenswerte Ereignisse aus dem Gründungsjahr der BASF: wie z. B. die Erstbesteigung des Matterhorns.
Schwarze Johannisbeeren und ein Hauch von getoastetem Holz: Diese auf 1865
Magnum-Flaschen limitierte und nummerierte Auflage der Reserva aus dem
Hause Ugarte verspricht besonderen aromatischen Genuss.
Blackcurrant and a hint of toasted wood: This Reserva edition of the Ugarte,
which is limited to 1865 serially numbered Magnum bottles, promises to be a
particular aromatic indulgence.
Wines from the Niepoort vineyard have been ever-present in our Wine Cellar for
decades. Dirk Niepoort is arguably the most important influence on red wine cultivation in the Douro Valley. His “Fabelhaft” (fabulous) creation has now achieved
cult status. For BASF he has gone one better: “Fabulous Foundation Blend”. The label contains notable events from the year that BASF was established,
such as the first ascent of the Matterhorn.

Der im Lentikular-Druckverfahren (Viele kennen dieses aus ihrer Kindheit als
„Wackelbild“) gedruckte Anhänger zeigt zwei Ansichten des Standortes in
Ludwigshafen: einerseits einen Stich aus den Gründerjahren, andererseits einen
imposanten Blick über das heutige Werksgelände. 150 Jahre auf einen Blick!
Die Heimat der BASF – gegründet vor 150 Jahren – liegt inmitten von vier
Weinbaugebieten. Schon 1901 eröffnete die BASF einen Weinkeller und zeigte
damit ihr besonderes Engagement für das Kulturgut Wein. Wenn gute Tropfen
als Botschafter unserer Heimatregion fungieren, macht uns das besonders
stolz. Genauso legen wir aber auch Wert darauf, die internationale Vielfalt
des Weines zu präsentieren. Für die Feierlichkeiten zu unserem 150-jährigen
Jubiläum haben wir daher sowohl Pfälzer Kreszenzen, als auch internationale
Spezialitäten zusammengetragen. Allen gemeinsam ist ein besonderer Bezug
zu unserem Jubiläum.
Ein Spitzensekt aus dem Gut, das schon fünf Mal zum besten Sekterzeuger
Deutschlands gekürt wurde. Feiner Schmelz, kraftvolle Konzentration und
lebendige Fruchtigkeit lassen jeden Schluck dieses prächtigen Sektes zum Fest
werden.
“The future loves tradition” – this could be the title of our anniversary edition.
The label, which has been printed using the lenticular printing process (many people
will remember this from their childhood as “flip images”), shows two views of the
location in Ludwigshafen: On one side an engraving from the early years, and on
the other side an impressive view of today‘s factory premises. 150 years at a glance!
The headquarters of BASF, which was founded 150 years ago, are located at
the heart of four wine-growing regions. BASF’s wine cellar was established in
1901 and is evidence of the company’s special commitment to wine as a cultural
asset. It makes us particularly proud when good wine acts as an ambassador
for our home region. At the same way, we also attach importance to presenting
international varieties of wine. For the festivities for our 150th anniversary we
have therefore put together grape varieties from the Palatinate and also some
international specialities. They all have a special association with our anniversary.
A top quality sparkling wine from the vineyard that has already been voted Ger­
many‘s best sparkling wine producer on five occasions. Fine texture, powerful
concentration and vibrant fruitiness make every sip of this magnificent sparkling
wine a celebration.

Als Jubiläumswein wurde hierfür der König unter den Deutschen Weißweinen
ausgewählt: Riesling. Feinfruchtiger Hochgenuss aus der Pfalz – und damit aus
der Heimat der BASF. Er zeigt mineralische Kraft und akzentuiertes Rückgrat,
bleibt dabei mit frischen Zitrusaromen und feinen Pfirsichnuancen immer charmant und erfrischend.
Die 1865 gegründete Viña San Pedro ist heute einer der größten und ältesten
Exporteure chilenischen Weines und zählt damit zu einem der wichtigsten Weingüter des Landes. 2011 wurde es zur „New World Winery of the Year“ gewählt.
Dieser ausgewählte Weinberg ist sozusagen eine Hommage an die Gründung
San Pedros vor 150 Jahren.
The King among German white wines has been chosen as the anniversary wine:
Riesling. A fruity treat from the Palatinate, and therefore from the home of BASF.
It has mineral potency and accentuated backbone, whilst always remaining charming and refreshing with a fresh citrus aroma and subtle nuances of peach.
Founded in year 1865, Viña San Pedro is nowadays one of the largest and
oldest exporters of Chilean wine and one of the most important wineries in the
country. In 2011 it was chosen as the New World Winery of the Year. This single
vineyard wine is a tribute to the founding of San Pedro 150 years ago.
