MEDIA KIT 2 - 4 September 14 // EXTRAandORDINARY MUNICH FABRIC START opens a promising season Autumn.Winter 15/16 under the sujet “EXTRAandORDINARY”. “We’re the ones kicking off the season. No other trade fair offers such a thoroughly edited and concentrated overview of the latest developments and trends at such an early time. Fewer and fewer of the important industry players are willing to miss out on this informational edge and the chance for an early exploration of the season’s options. That leaves only one conclusion: MUNICH FABRIC START, boasting some 950 international fabrics and accessories manufacturers, has become firmly established as a leading international trade fair for textiles and accessories. For several seasons now, we’ve seen steady growth in the number of exhibitors – at a time of increasing international standards, no less”, states Sebastian Klinder, Managing Director of MUNICH FABRIC START prior to the fair. EXTRAandORDINARY – Fashion In a dance between clarity and complexity More than 950 manufacturers of fabrics and additionals Completely booked BLUEZONE inspired by “RACE and ZEN” Top-class framework program With more than 950 international exhibitors – the organisers of MUNICH FABRIC START are counting on a successful kick-off event for the AUTUMN.WINTER 15/16 season in Munich from 2-4 September 2014. An excellent exhibitor portfolio of the latest developments and innovations in fabrics and accessories on over 40,000 square meters of exhibit space will await the arrival of approximately 20,000 international trade visitors. Especially interesting to us as a textile fair remains the high creativity within the fabrics and findings! And through those materials even the normality is reset in a modern and new way. The season Autumn.Winter 15/16 focuses primarily on the connection between the ordinary and the extraordinary leading to this season’s title “EXTRAandORDINARY”. Classic matters are on the rise with slightly minimalist entries and in technical materials. Romantic themes are more dry and not as dreamy. High-tech influences are mixed with the pure and grounded. The dandy is dandy – only more progressive, and visionary, futuristic topics are connected to the earthly. Apparent, functional sportivity remains a major topic replenishing every collection and making the person look more active. This is oftentimes achieved by mixing fabrics and designs, for example barock jacquards for sports, bondings for classics or fur for casual. After several extremely versatile and expressive seasons the creative flood of ideas, styles, colours, cuts, themes and their combination calms down. Visions and inspirations lead to the belief of more clarity. // 3 // BLUEZONE – Inspired by “RACE AND ZEN“ and flat woven fabrics in AUTUMN.WINTER 15/16. Two life philosophies collide here to create a composition of contradictions that will serve as a stage for the presentation of the stylish and trendy range of denims and flats for the 2015/2016 Autumn/Winter season. The tendencies here come from two directions: one is more technical and functional, featuring jeans with woven-in Kevlar and integrated protectors, while the other is more meditative, OM-oriented and peaceful. the style parameters set by cowboys and work clothing. In turning jeans traditions upside down and collaborating with artists and musicians from the street, denim designs are created that tell stories. Balagans brings street atmosphere to BLUEZONE, and creates denim inspirations from art, design and personal handiwork. An experimentally developed collection is being presented, with which the hostesses and the Artmosphere Team will be dressed and styled. BALAGANS will bring pure denim inspiration to BLUEZONE. With a passion for denim, a love for craftsmanship and the courage to experiment, BALAGANS has developed its own denim design signature since its founding in 2011 far removed from With another increase in exhibitors BLUEZONE takes place on 2 and 3 September in a fully booked Zenith Hall. Altogether 75 international denim weavers, finishers and washers, including the who‘s who of the denim community, show the latest denim innovations, washes and finishes. Among the roughly 75 international weaving mills, finishers and laundries, there are several new participants, such as US Group, Denimco, Sartex and others. The portfolio is rounded off by established divisions GREENZONE, R.M.S. Ready made Solutions and TiST - Tomorrow is Today with the first SPRING. SUMMER 16 developments. True to BLUEZONE’s season title “RACE and ZEN“, two life philosophies collide, forming the fashionable and trendy field for a play of opposites between denims // 5 // ECO VILLAGE And ORGaNICselection accessories since a few seasons. Since accessories and findings also require inspection and certification for confirming the sustainability of the complete finished product, certified sustainable additionals will be presented here in a pooled manner. After all, unlike with textiles there are hardly any independent schemes for verifying these requirements for accessories. Added Benefit The labels of the fabrics presented at organicselection are additionally tagged with a QR code that directly links to the product page of the specific fabric. Just scan the QR code of the required fabric and you will be linked quick and easily to all technical specifications. Innovative Online Sourcing Platform For Eco Fabrics The complete portfolio organicselection is also available online – more than 500 certified fabrics are available on this unique portal. With this move MUNICH FABRIC START has responded to the need for a sustainable textiles sourcing platform available long term and now offers an easy way to source eco fabrics 365 days per year. www.organic-selection.com This time on site: By the Way Sustainability Expert and Sourcing Platform The ECO VILLAGE is MUNICH FABRIC START’s competence centre for the global sustainability theme and serves as a platform for certification bodies, consultants and non-profit organisations dealing with eco and natural materials as well as ecologically oriented corporate strategies. The selection of sustainable and ecologically certified fabrics out of a portfolio from 900 international fabric and additionals manufacturers – this is the approach the organicselection follows every season at MUNICH FABRIC START. And herewith gives the answer to the current market needs for information and sourcing opportunities of modern eco fabrics. The success of organicselection has proved that sustainability is essential and gives directions. However, not only are presented modern eco fabrics but as well BLUEZONE, the Denim & Sportswear area, also dedicates a special exhibition area to sustainability issues in the textile industry. In the GREENZONE you may find the sustainable innovations of the BLUEZONE exhibitors. // 7 // ECO Talk Trendseminars Room K4 / Foyer Hall 4 Tuesday, 2 September 2014 11 am – 12 pm | Fair Wear Foundation WellMade – Improving Working Conditions in your Clothing Supply Chain The WellMade project is designed to provide people working in European fashion brands with an understanding of the most important labour issues in clothing factories. Teijin Shoji Europe: Andreas Faerber, CEO of A.M.F. spa: Barbara Gnutti, ITV Industria Tessile del Vomano (I): Marco Lucietti, Global Brand Manager of ISKO: “The discontinuation of Interstoff years ago made room for a new fair and new concept in Germany. Thanks to its early date each season MUNICH FABRIC START managed to make itself indispensable to the German market in a very short time. Anyone wanting to sell today in Germany has to exhibit here. Munich is the most important date for the entire German fashion sector – today already more important than Texworld and PV in Paris.” “AMF is one of the pioneers at MUNICH FABRIC START and was already presented at the fair when it was still an event for Bavarian trade representatives. The fair particularly makes sense because of its early date – we would even prefer mid-July. Though the date in February is perfect. We use the fair not only to maintain customer contacts but also as a real “working fair“ where new developments are suggested and discussed. Milan or Paris are not options for us (AMF does not exhibit there) as these fairs are too late and too dispersed – we want to work with our customers in a targeted manner.” “First of all we are extremely intrigued with the way that Munich Fabric Start has arranged BlueZone. It is a very beautiful presentation area for the collections now. Music and lighting were excellent and the support through the new Trend Book is also perfect. Furthermore, I would like to thank you for the wonderful Oktoberfest where we had a fantastic time. For us, however, two days are very tight.” “The new BlueZone concept has convinced ISKO and we are delighted that we saw more than 50 customers over the two days of the trade fair including such key accounts as Hugo Boss, Mac Jeans, Gardeur, Zerres, Gerry Weber, Esprit and Brax. Munich Fabric Start is for us an opportunity to maintain contacts and conclude and fine-tune deals that have been in the pipeline. For this we feel two days makes sense. The mood was generally good at the BlueZone, as I also learnt from other exhibitors and customers.” Kevin Lobo, Creative Director of Boss Black: “I am a big fan of MUNICH FABRIC START. We are represented with over 50 teamsters here.” Norbert Hinderberger, Orta Anadolu (TR): “BLUEZONE by MUNICH FABRIC START will be an even more substantial platform for us in the future. The concept completely matches with our company’s presence that we already redesigned last season. The fair has become more and more important for Orta, so we were encouraged to add another extra for September – with a central and extended stand. Our customers are excited.” Reiner Knochel, Product/Channel Marketing Manager of the yarn factory Madeira Garnfabrik (DE): “Already after two days we reached the customer numbers this time that we normally reach after three. We are really enthusiastic. Organisation is so helpful, exhibitors’ needs are always catered for and everything runs so smoothly. Plus all the service and atmosphere – just great”. Panos Sofianos, Royo: “For Royo and Denim Valley, BLUEZONE is the absolutely perfect platform! We have joined it right from the beginning and never missed a season because we like the style and ambiance of MFS very much. The trade fairs are well-organized with functional stands and equipment as basis for exhibitors to be optimally presented. A variety of services is offered and the enjoyable but productive working atmosphere is appreciated by our customers. This multinational platform offers sound trend information at an ideal timing for the denim community to be informed about the latest market developments. That is why BLUEZONE for us is the perfect place to do business with pleasure.” // 41 CONTACT Press Isabel Mühlbauer Phone: +49 (0)89 45 22 47 10 Fax: +49 (0)89 45 22 47 22 E-Mail: [email protected] Marketing & Communications Claudia Goßen Phone: +49 (0)221 965 7673 Fax: +49 (0)221 965 7648 E-Mail: [email protected]
