In the part of Golling known as Torren (“torren” Romanic: torrential mountain river), near the fascinating late gothic pilgrimage church of St.
Nikolaus, Golling waterfalls plunge 76 metres in two giant steps to the valley below. The thunderous Golling falls are a very popular destination for
trips out and well known as one of the provinces most attractive and
fascinating natural monuments.

On top of a rocky promontory in the middle of the town is the medieval fortress of Golling located that houses a museum well worth visiting. This year
the museum presents the special exhibition: THE ROMANS – (AS) VOICES
FOR PEACE AND PROGRESS. With top-class objects from the Roman times
and many stations to play and explore this exhibition is a thrilling and informative travel through time for young and old. Furthermore the museum
shows its famous collection of fossils and the new collection of clocks and
watches in the clock tower room.

"Salzachöfen". The imposing breakthrough between the Tennen- and
the Hagenmountains in the Dachstein lime is more than 80 m deep. The
rock faces show numerous gigantic crater of erosions which emerged from
swirls of the fluent water. In the impressive "cathedral" the rock faces
completely seem to close.

Vom nahe gelegenen Pass Lueg aus sind es nur wenige Schritte bis zur
wildromantischen Schlucht „Salzachöfen“. Der imposante Durchbruch
zwischen Tennen- und Hagengebirge in den Dachsteinkalk ist über 80 m
tief. Die Felswände weisen zahlreiche, durch Wirbelbildung des fließenden Wassers entstandene, riesige Erosionskolke auf. Im beeindruckenden
„Dom“ scheinen sich die Felswände völlig zu schließen.

pieces of art worldwide. Visit our family-friendly museum formed anew in
the Municipal office and win an insight about the origin, the mining and
the valuable art treasures of the fascinating red rock. From Adnet a
marble way leads you furthermore through the active and shut down stone
quarries and offers an impression about the exhausting mining at that
time and today.
Im Gollinger Ortsteil Torren („torren“ romanisch: tosender Wildbach), nahe
der sehenswerten spätgotischen Wallfahrtskirche „St. Nikolaus“ mit
ihrer barocken Innenausstattung, tost der Gollinger Wasserfall in zwei Fallstufen beeindruckende 76 Höhenmeter zu Tal. Von Malern der Romantik
als beliebtes Motiv gewählt, stellt der tosende Gollinger Wasserfall ein
besonders beliebtes Ausflugsziel dar und gehört wohl zu den attraktivsten
und faszinierendsten Naturdenkmälern des Landes.
Auf einem Felssporn mitten im Markt befindet sich die mittelalterliche
Burg Golling mit ihrem sehenswerten Museum. Dieses Jahr präsentiert das
Museum die Sonderausstellung: RÖMER – GARANTEN FÜR FRIEDEN
UND FORTSCHRITT. Mit hochkarätigen Objekten aus der Römerzeit und
vielen Stationen zum Ausprobieren und Spielen ist diese Ausstellung eine

If you really want to have fun you come to Abtenau for a summer
toboggan run. For the whole 2 km the summer toboggan run offers
everything that lets the hearts of toboggan fans beat faster: fast curves,
extreme banks and top speeds of up to 40 km/h - totally easy and safe.
Those who like to be more comfortable just take the cable car back to
the valley.
HIKING TRAIL OF HAY FIGURES AND LEGENDS
Annaberg is not just the hometown of the world champion skier
Marcel Hirscher but also the starting point and cultural heart of the hiking
trail of hay figures and legends. Every year many fantastic art objects are
being created out of fragrant hay for the world’s largest HayArt Festival.
Enjoy the magic world of legendary characters and immerse yourself into
the mysterious world of legends such as the "Kopflackengeist" or the
"Dachsteinweiberl". 200 steps will then take you to the top of the spiritual power mountain Kopfberg and in the middle of the mystical enchanted woods the patron saint of the village St. Anna made of stone pine gives

mit 2,2 km Salzburgs längste Sommerrodelbahn, der Keltenblitz am
Dürrnberg, zu einer zünftigen Rodelpartie! Der Zinkenkogel in Bad Dürrnberg / Hallein bietet einen herrlichen Panoramablick vom Untersberg bis
zum Dachstein. Von der Talstation geht’s entweder bei einer gemütlichen
Wanderung oder bequem mit dem Doppelsessellift nach oben. Bergab geht
es dann mit dem Keltenblitz oder mit dem Doppelsessellift.

Only a few minutes away from the city of Salzburg, the 2,2 km long
summer toboggan run “the Keltenblitz” attracts many visitors. Enjoy the
magnificent Zinkenkogel panorama, reaching from the close Untersberg
mountain range to the far distanced Dachstein glaciers. To reach the
toboggan starting point, visitors either take the double chair lift or follow
the hiking trail to the top. The “Keltenblitz” or the double chair lift will
then bring you safely back to the valley.

DIE LANGE GESCHICHTE VON KUCHL
Das neu adaptierte Museum Kuchl präsentiert Informationen und
Objekte zur regionalen Geologie und Archäologie. Das Spektrum der
Exponate aus dem Gemeindegebiet reicht von der Jungsteinzeit bis zur
Römerzeit, in der dem Leben des Heiligen Severin, der auch in Cucullis
(Kuchl) wirkte, ein breiter Rahmen gewidmet ist. Ländliches Handwerk
und Leben werden ebenso präsentiert, wie religiöse Kleinodien der
Kuchler Marktgeschichte. Jährlich wechselnde Sonderausstellungen
zu unterschiedlichen Themen.

KUCHL HAS A LONG HISTORY
The recently renovated museum in Kuchl shows geological and archeological findings and exhibits of the region and gives concrete information.
The historical spectrum of the exhibits from the community area covers a
long period of time: from the Stone Age to the Roman times. A large part
of the exhibition is dedicated to Saint Severin who christianised the area
and once was living in Kuchl (Lat.: Cucullis). Learn more about life and
trade on the countryside: Special historical treasures from the market scene
are shown. Special exhibitions with a large variety of topics every year.

The Hornbahn Russbach cable car easily takes you up to the hiking paradise “Hornspitz”, 1.450 m above sea level. Kids can discover lot’s of adventures and playgrounds in Bruno’s Mountain World. Ride the huge ant „Emma“,
play in the swing-forest or climb up the climbing tower. Meanwhile the
parents can relax in the deckchairs and have a view on the great mountain
panorama. You can go by pick-up train “Ameisenexpress” to the Edtalmhut
or take a break on the panoramic sun terrace.

Der neue, familienfreundliche Mühlenrundweg führt entlang des wildromantischen Schwarzenbaches hin zur historischen Getreidemühle und
der Marmor-Kugelmühle am imposanten Schwarzenbachfall. Der wunderschöne Wanderweg mit seinen Kraftplätzen und Aussichtspunkten zählt
zu einer der beliebtesten Wanderungen im Tennengau.
Unser Tipp: Ideal zu erreichen über den neuen Lammer-Radwanderweg.
Die Freizeitanlage Harrbergsee befindet sich direkt am Radweg.
THE POWER OF WATER
The new “Mühlenrundweg” is a circular walk suitable for all the family. It
leads along the wild and romantic Schwarzenbach river to the historic corn
mill and the marble ball mill at the imposing Schwarzenbachfall waterfall. This wonderful route with its mystical places and viewpoints is one
of the most popular walks in the Tennengau.
Tip: Can be reached easily on the new Lammer cycle trail. The leisure
centre Harrbergsee is located right on the cycle trail.

Die Lammerklamm, das faszinierende Naturschauspiel aus Licht, Wasser
und Schatten im Salzburger Land, ist seit 1884 für den Besucher
zugänglich. Gesicherte Steige entlang der Felswände ermöglichen einen
gefahrlosen Besuch für die ganze Familie. Der Weg führt hinunter zu den
tosenden Fluten und den beeindruckenden Aussichtspunkten. Den
schönsten Teil, die so genannte „Dunkle Klamm“, erreichen Sie nach ca.
25 Minuten.

Since 1884 visitors from all over the world enjoy the fascinating natural
spectacle of the “Lammer Gorges” in the province of Salzburg. Light, water
and shadows are the raging elements in a mystical scenery. Secured trails
along spectacular rock formations allow a safe hike for the whole family.
Visitors enjoy precious moments at the most impressive and magnificent
viewpoints such as the “Dark Gorge” (“Dunkle Klamm”) which you reach
after approx. 25 minutes.

Auf dem 600 ha großen Hochplateau der Trattbergalm eröffnet sich auf
ca. 1600 m Seehöhe ein ideales Wanderparadies für Jung und Alt. Direkt
an der Panoramastraße bietet der neue Aussichtspunkt Schröck einen
herrlichen Rundblick auf das beeindruckende Bergpanorama des Salzburger Landes. Neben der Wanderzeit im Herbst, ist der Frühsommer mit
seiner herrlichen Vielfalt an Almblumen besonders zu empfehlen. Rund
450 Stk. Rinder und Pferde weiden im Sommer auf der Trattbergalm. Urgemütliche Almhütten laden bei jeder Witterung zur Einkehr ein.

Vor 22.000 Jahren war das Salzachtal vom mächtigen Salzachgletscher
erfüllt, der im Gebiet St. Koloman bis auf eine Höhe von ca. 1500 m reichte.
Das heutige Areal des Gletscherschliffes war damals von ca. 700 m Eis
bedeckt, welches sich über den Felsuntergrund hinweg bewegte. Dabei
wurde dieser abgeschürft, glatt gehobelt und durch eine natürliche „Schleifpaste“ aus Sand, Schluff, Ton und Wasser mit einer Glanzpolitur versehen.
Tipp: Die Wege zu sämtlichen
Almhütten sind gut erreichbar.
LAMMERTALER URWALD
In dem ca. 10 ha großen Naturwaldreservat stehen Fichten, Tannen, Buchen
und Lärchen von außergewöhnlicher Dimension. Die günstige Hanglage,
die klimatischen Bedingungen sowie die ausgezeichnete Bodenbeschaffenheit ließen im Lammertal die höchsten Bäume Österreichs heranwachsen. Herausragend ist der „Lammertaler Wächter“, eine Tanne mit
48 m Höhe und einem Alter von ca. 300 Jahren.

The young and the young at heart are enchanted by the fascinating hiking
paradise of the Trattberg Alp plateau (sea level 1600 m). The new viewpoint
“Schröck” gives visitors an unique opportunity to enjoy the panoramic
view over the Salzburg mountain scenery. Plan your hiking tours for either
the autumn or the spring season because then you will find the alpine
flowers blooming. In the summer time about 450 cows and horses are put
out to pasture the Trattberg Alp. Chalets in rustic style give visitors
shelter at any time.

Wurzeln aus der freien Natur schaffen eine anregende Welt aus Waldgeistern, Kobolden und Gnomen. Die Besonderheit an der Wurzl Welt ist, dass
die einzelnen Wurzeln nur minimal bearbeitet sind, weil die Natur
alleine schon viel Kreativität bewiesen hat. Ab und zu wurde ein Auge
oder eine andere Farb-Akzentuierung angebracht oder mit Schmiedekunst
in Szene gesetzt. Zusätzlich dekorieren mystische Feen und Elfen die
Wände der Phantasiewelt.

IMPRESSIVE GLACIAL POLISH
22.000 years ago the Salzachtal valley was covered with glacier. In the
St. Koloman region the glacier even was 1500 metres in height. At that time
the area of the today's visible glacial polish was covered by a 700 metres
ice crust, which slowly moved over the subsoil rocks. The ice crust
scrapped off, shaped and polished the rocks. Nature produced a special
“polish paste” consisting of sand, silt, clay and water.

Roots from the surrounding nature create an inspiring world of wood spirits, goblins and gnomes. The special aspect in the Root World is that the
individual roots have only been worked on to a minimal degree because
nature itself has already proven a lot of creativity on its own. Every now
and then an eye or a colour accent was added or emphasized with wrought
ironwork. The walls of the phantasy world are also decorated with mystic
fairies and elves.

SEEPARK ST. MARTIN
Der Erlebnisbadesee inkl. Parkanlage in herrlicher Naturlandschaft hat
nicht nur eine Wasserfläche von 7.000 m² und eine große Liegewiese zu
bieten, sondern auch eine 50 – Meter – Wasserrutsche, einen BeachVolleyballplatz, Spielbereiche und ein Seerestaurant. Die Anlage bietet die
nötige Erfrischung nach dem Wanderausflug und garantiert Badespaß für
Groß und Klein. Wenn am Abend die Seeparkpromenade beleuchtet ist
und die angeschlossene Gastronomie mit italienischen Spezialitäten lockt,
endet der Urlaubstag in südlichem Flair.
THE LAMMERTAL JUNGLE
In an approximately 10 ha large nature reserve grow spruces, firs,
beeches and larches of extraordinary dimensions. The favourable
location on the slope and the climatic conditions as well as the exeptional
quality of the soil form the base to sprout the tallest trees in Austria.
Standing out is the "Lammertaler Wächter", a fir that is 48 m high and
about 300 years old.

Exciting swimming lake incl. park grounds in a splendid natural setting,
offers a water area of 7.000 m² and broad sunbathing areas, along with a
50m water slide, beach-volleyball court, children’s play areas and a lakeside restaurant. The water park provides the necessary refreshment after
a hiking trip and guarantees fun for all ages. If the promenade is illuminated at night, the attached restaurant spoils you with Italian specialties
and lets the day come to an end with a southern flair.

Franz & Annemarie Pötzelsberger recommend the „Bauernpfeffer“, a handmade soft cheese with an distinctive taste. The naturally produced hay
milk from the farmers in Adnet offers the best conditions for the production of an exquisite organic cheese and makes the use of artificial additives superfluous. At our very own farm cheese shop (“Kaslad’n“) we offer a
large variety of organic cheese products from our farm such as homemade
country bacon and sausages as well as all types of popular dumplings.
Niki Rettenbacher, the farmer from the Fürstenhof, swears by organic raw milk
for the top quality in cheese production since ever to achieve a maximum of
taste. The basis for the cheese from the Fürstenhof is supplied by our Jersey cows
- a special breed of milk cows - that produce an especially high content milk.
Our various types of cheese have been awarded 9 gold, silver and bronze medals
in Austrian competitions. In addition to that our much liked „Zwiefacher“ soft
cheese was awarded a gold medal at the „International Käsiade“.
Under the motto „cheese shall be cheese“ Johann
Schnitzhofer produces besides the raw milk that is
left natural, only natural additives and refinement
agents for his „Bergkäse“ in his „Alpine Cheese
Dairy“. You can get to the Postalm on a marvellous
mountain road that leads you right into the heart
of the largest hiking area in Austria.

spicy „Bergkäse“ „mountain cheese“ is made with pure raw hay milk and had to
ripen in the stone cellar for 8 months. In the traditional farm house 'Zur Sonnleit'n' you are being offered culinary delights for sale in the farm store and in the
guest house you can sample home made delights and fine foods from the region.
This cosy cheese chalet is located at the parish St. Margarethen and is furnished with loving care. It is a mountain hut built right in the middle of the village that offers exquisite surprises to all cheese lovers. Gertraud and Josef Oberascher who hold the highest degree as cheese sommeliers will treat you on their
cheese counter with homemade delicacies from their own farm such as cheese,
