Dear Streams Families,
Thank you so much for your support of PEACE, LOVE, & STRAVAGANZA!
The night was a huge success because of all the donations, volunteers,
and families who came out to spend money for our school! I have been
putting off writing this wrap-up because I just can't bear for the truth to
come out... It is hard for me to admit, after taking all the praise, free
meals, and pity for the last five years, but this job of Stravaganza Chair is
embarrassingly easy. Below is a list of people who do all the work, along
with some groovy 60's tunes I highly recommend you download! (and sing
along too, at the top of your lungs, in your bathroom mirror, with your
hairbrush...cause that's what I'm gonna do when I'm done writing this!)
• The SCHOOL: ("Teach Your Children" by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and
Young) Dr. Miller, Mrs. Kaplan, Mr. Greg, Mrs. Stevenson, Mrs.
Loomis and all the teachers who lend so much support and
encouragement, I can't even imagine running this event anywhere
else!
• The CHAIRS: ("Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations) Colleen
Cuba, Tracey Ruffner, Harlow Lisak, Bonnie Shontz, Laura Jones,
Lisa Henricks, Lisa Blass, Michele Fisher, and Melanie Lenthall.
You ladies do all the time consuming, hard work involved in
making Stravaganza possible. I've been riding your coattails for
years!
• My FRIENDS: ("With a Little Help From My Friends" by Joe
Cocker) Rachelle Engel, Mary Oates, Deb Berlin, Bebe Mielcusny,
Patty Krah, Anne DeIuliis, Lori Miller, and anyone who was nice to
me from May of 2007 through October 2011, thank you all so
much for putting up with my craziness and helping me with
everything!
• The CAKE LADY: ("Sugar, Sugar" by The Archies) Oh Cari
Lackner...sometimes I would pick the theme just too see how you
would dress and out-do me in the costume department. Well
done my friend, well done. You took what was once a classroom
game and made it your own. Streams will miss you a lot! Enjoy
your special cake.

• My FAMILY: ("Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" by Sly and the
Family Stone) Tom and Bridgie Rubritz, Nanny and Papa Scull, Dee
Dee Pifer, Tommy and Adam Rubritz, Carol Rubritz, Katie,
Annemarie, and Molly Grella, Izzy, Emma, Juli and Lily Tarcson, and
especially John Tarcson. Thank you all so much for coming to
support me and spend your money to support our school! Special
shout out to John for not throwing me out of the house the week of
Stravaganza!
Cindy DelliCarri
Melanie Lenthall
• The STUDENTS OF STREAMS: ("Oh Very Young" by Cat Stevens) You
made this worth doing every year. Your excitement and enthusiasm
for each theme got me out of bed each morning! Who knew so
many kids owned tie-die shirts, plaid shirts, superhero shirts, team
jerseys, and Shrek shirts! Ok, that last one was a surprise even to
me!
• The NEW STRAVAGANZA CHAIRS: ("Too Late To Turn Back Now" by
Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose) Melanie Lenthall and Cindy
DelliCarri...THANK YOU! Every one associated with me thanks YOU!
You might think the song I picked for you is a joke or a plea from
me to not back out, but I really mean that song. The rest of the
lyrics are "I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe I'm falling in love"
and that is just what you will do with this event. The school, the
people and most especially, the kids are so wonderful that you will
fall under their spell and end up loving it! I have my tent, hiking
boots, and matches ready to "CAMP" out and help you next year!

PEACE OUT STREAMS!
Adult Raffle
Colleen Cuba
Dear Streams Families,
I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the overwhelming
generosity of our local community and families at Streams Elementary! I
could not believe how giving the local businesses were when asked to
donate to our fundraiser, Stravaganza! Please support these businesses as
they were considerate enough to support our school. However, some of
the most desirable Adult prizes of the evening were, in fact, donated by
YOU, our very own Streams’ families! We were most appreciative to
receive all of your amazing items! Thank you so much for all that you did
to make our event so successful. Each one of you played an important role
in the overall success of the event - whether you volunteered your time to
help, donated an Adult Raffle item, or purchased tickets to win a prize.
You are the reason this event was made possible and was so successful!
We had some truly incredible Adult Raffle items this year and I,
absolutely, could not have done it without your help. Thank you, again!
Sincerely,
Colleen Cuba

Children’s Raffle
We want to definitely thank all of the very generous families who donated
many nice items to the Children's Raffle and to stress that without their
generosity, the raffle would not be as big a success as it was for Streams
Elementary. Thank you also to the families who attended and enjoyed the
festivities of the night as well as to all the volunteers who helped run many of
the activities because without all of them, the night wouldn't be a success!
Tracey Ruffner
Thank You Trisha Eccher and Cindy DelliCarri for manning the doorway of
the raffle room- that's not an easy job. We definitely want to thank Brooke,
for being a creative organizer for Stravaganza and to thank her for her time
over the years. Thanks Colleen for making the Adult Raffle equally
successful. Thanks to the awesome Stravaganza team!! We could go on and
on! Thank you everyone! Go Camp Stravaganza!!
Tracey and Harlow
Bell Bottom Bistro
Harlow Lisak
When Kim Damon said to me “Oh, you should do food… it’s easy”, how could I say “No”? So I must
first and foremost thank Kim for continuing to fib to me in saying that “everything will be fine” and
for being my sounding board and friendly reminder system… as in, “Oh… you should have done that
last month”! Without her, I would probably be ready to feed everyone sometime next week… if
then…!! Thanks Kim for guiding me and keeping me on track!!!
The Bell Bottom Bistro had far more “easy” tasks than trying times and for that, there are SO
many to thank! Dawn Green, Paula Henderson, Jim Corona and Nancy Trau… you’re experience in the
kitchen made everything run so smoothly that I am pretty sure I wasn’t needed at all!! If someone
asks me tomorrow how everything works in the kitchen, I am pretty confident that my answer will
still be “I have no idea”!
Two things I learned through it all… sometimes, all you have to do is ask and we live in the most
awesome community!!!! Not one food vendor declined when I asked for their help and we benefitted
with some yummy stuff for our bellies!! Thank you to Chick-Fil-A, Moes, Pizzaz Italian Restaurant,
GFS, Ardolino’s and Walmart. Good thing I saved all their numbers for next year!!!
I am also keeping a copy of a very special list… the wonderful friends and family of Streams who
so graciously gave their time to do “whatever was needed” in the Bistro!! Rachel Jencka, Mathena
Jencka, Pooja Tripathi, Emily Pasquale, Jen Graceffo, Rose Hilbert, Katie Martin, Angie Stevenson,
Aparna Shankar, Jen Liokareas, Cheryl Coyle, Teresa Wong, Gregg West and his crew (Larry, Jim
and Tina), Betsy Loomis, Russ Phillips and Rose Ogden _ Thank You, Thank You!!!!
I have you all assigned to the same tasks/ time slots for next year!!!
To my fellow Peace & Love planners, Brooke, Colleen, Tracy, Harlow, Bonnie,
Laura, Lisa, Michele and Melanie – Thanks for making it all so much fun!!!
I miss seeing you all – Isn’t there something else we can plan???
So, the Bell Bottom Bistro officially closes and we start looking to next year.
See you all then!!!!

Tickets
Michele Fisher
Peace, Love and Tickets! I would like to thank Brenda Phillips, Tricia
Eccher, Michelle Lund, Robin Teklinski, Laura Jones and Rachelle Engel
for working in the Raffle room during the week of Stravaganza! Thank you
for assisting all of the people who stopped in to buy tickets, for making
ticket bundles, and for helping the kids write their names on the back of
their tickets! You helped to make the week go very smoothly!
Thank you also to Brenda Phillips, Tricia Eccher, Michelle Lund, Mrs.
Meston, Mrs. O'Leary and Dr. Miller for working the ticket tables the night
of Stravaganza! Thank you so much for taking time away from your
families and the excitement of Stravaganza to help sell tickets! You kept
the lines moving, the patron's happy and the tickets selling!
Last but definitely not least, a VERY special "THANK YOU" to Lori
Miller! Lori was really was my "unofficial" Co-Chair during this whole
event. Her advice, input, and hours of volunteer work during the week, as
well as the night of Stravaganza were invaluable! Lori - you are such a
wonderful person and a fantastic assistant! I do not know what I would
have done without your opinions, your expertise, and your handwriting
(Lori wrote numerous names on the back of raffle tickets). You are truly a
gem and Streams will not be the same without you next year (nor will
tickets!). Peace!

Bake Sale
Lisa Henricks &
Laura Jones
Bake sale was a huge success thanks to all the families who donated
such delic ious looking sweets!! We would like to thank all the families
that donated, as well as those parents who helped with the bake sale
on the night of Stravaganza. We had so many helpers and it was truly
appreciated. We also want to thank The Coffee Tree in Mt. Lebanon
for donating the coffee. A big thank you to Mr. Greg and the other
custodians for getting the cafeteria ready so quickly the afternoon
before Stravaganza, and for all their help with clean up at the end of
the night. A thank you also goes to Mrs. Woodford for her beautiful sign
with the prices posted. It was truly a groovy night!!
Lisa Henricks and Laura Jones

I'd like to thank Cindy Delo for all of her help setting up and organizing, Bebe
Mielcusny for all of her tireless effort and physical strength during set-up day,
and Mary Oates and family for their help as well. And to Brooke and the entire
