In fewer than thirteen years, Mariza has gone from
being a practically hidden local phenomenon, shared
only by a small circle of Lisbon admirers, to becoming
one of the most applauded stars of the World Music
circuit. After having performed on the greatest stages

Considerado uma estrela da música de dança eletrónica, David Guetta vai
atuar no dia 14 de agosto em Quarteira, naquele que será um dos espetáculos mais aguardados do verão e a maior festa do ano no Algarve. Com

A star of electronic dance music, David Guetta will perform on the 14th August in Quarteira, in one of the most anticipated shows of the summer and
the Algarve’s greatest party of the year. With his new album ‘Listen’, Guetta
announces the end of this era, and lays the path for a new one. Since it was
launched, the album has reached No. 1 on iTunes, as well as the American
and British dance charts, confirming his ‘best in the world’ title.

The programme ‘Summer in Tavira’ was designed to
meet residents’ expectations and the demand for cultural events by thousands of people from many nationalities who holiday in Tavira. This is also the annual
opportunity to show and get to know Portuguese
culture in its various forms. The multidisciplinary and
multicultural nature of the event means that entertainment and leisure are paired with knowledge and
personal enrichment.

do festival E.S.T.A.R. Este é um evento cultural inteiramente gratuito que
procura espaços públicos singulares para promover diversos espetáculos
de teatro e outras animações de rua. A programação é bastante diversificada com espetáculos de marionetas, objetos, teatro de andas, teatro físico
ou café concerto.
The town of Odeceixe, in Aljezur, is once again the centre stage of the
festival E.S.T.A.R. This cultural event is completely free and takes place in
unique public spaces to promote various theatre shows and street acts.
The programme is quite varied and includes puppetry, object shows,
stilts, physical theatre, and a café concert.

a Moura».
The sculptor Jorge Cabrita and the painter Monika Matias present an exhibition where paintings and sculptures of old legends of enchanted Moorish
women and modern stories are intertwined. Through the magic of colours
and shapes the artists unveil images, reveal figures and invite visitors to attempt to break the spell of the Moorish lady.

No FolkFaro encontram-se as tradições do mundo, expressas na música e na dança. Já na sua 13.ª edição,
esta organização do Grupo Folclórico de Faro orgulha-se de ter apresentado na capital algarvia representações de mais de 45 países! A Gala de Abertura, no
dia 15 de agosto, no Teatro das Figuras, é uma oportunidade dada aos grupos dos quatro cantos do mundo
de fazerem a sua estreia na principal sala de espetáculos do Algarve. Os espetáculos do Folclore Internacional sucedem-se diariamente nas restantes noites
do Festival no magnífico Largo da Sé.
In FolkFaro traditions from all over the world can be
found through music and dance. Already in its 13rd edition, the organiser Grupo Folclórico de Faro is proud to
present delegations from more than 45 countries in the
Algarvian capital! Groups from the four corners of the
world are given the chance to perform for the first time
at the Opening Gala on the 15th August, at Teatro das
Figuras, the Algarve’s main performance venue. International folk performances will be taking place every
night for the duration of the Festival in the magnificent
Largo da Sé.

A III Feira da Dieta Mediterrânica, de 3 a 6 de setembro,
decorrerá em Tavira, inserida no Plano de salvaguarda
da UNESCO deste Património Cultural Imaterial da

e oficinas de cozinha, música mediterrânica, estilos
de vida saudáveis, aconselhamento e prevenção de
doenças cardiovasculares e nutricional, seminários,
exposições, jogos tradicionais, animação de rua, teatro, visitas guiadas e passeios ao património, entre
outros motivos de interesse. O festival “SlowMed”, que
decorre em simultâneo, trará à feira a cozinha e os
documentários mediterrânicos.
The 3rd edition of the Mediterranean Diet Fair, between
the 3rd and 6th September, will be taking place in Tavira, as part of the UNESCO Plan for the Safeguarding of
Intangible Cultural Heritage. It will include the presence
of institutional bodies, a farmers’ market, food activities
and cooking workshops, Mediterranean music, healthy
lifestyles, advice and prevention of heart disease, nutrition, seminars, exhibitions, traditional games, street entertainment, theatre, guided tours and visits to heritage
sites, and others. The ‘SlowMed’ Festival, which will be
taking place simultaneously, will bring Mediterranean
cooking and documentaries to the fair.
