CENAS DE UM MUNDO PARTIDO UMA LEITURA DO FILME PAISÀ, DE ROBERTO ROSSELLINI SCENES OF A BROKEN WORLD A READING OF ROBERTO ROSSELINI'S FILM PAISA Elanir França Carvalho* Resumo Este estudo é uma leitura do filme Paisà (1946), de Roberto Rossellini. Abstract This study is an interpretation of Roberto Rossellini's movie Paisà, based on critic André Bazin's proposition, whom, in his study "O realismo cinematográfico e a escola italiana da Liberação", suggests the relationship between that movie and the structure of modern story. While an approach among both arts was established, a counterpoint between cinematographic and literary languages was performed. Therefore, the analysis establishes an approximation that comes from structures of both artistic manifestations. In one hand, we have the movie, fragmented in six episodes that establish relations to the structure of modern short story, since it is produced by small narratives. However, the interface goes beyond: also in the thematic, the two artistic forms can link as they, by the way that, produced under the same symbol – the modernity one, and, so, the fragment one – reflect and reveal the same feeling about the world. Besides this aspect, we have the war's inherent thematic presented in the movie, such as violence, dilacerations, trauma, melancholy and others. All this aspects imposes the Rossellini's artistic proceeding, enforcing it to realize the intersection between structure and content treated. Key words: Movie, Roberto Rossellini, Paisà, Fragment.
