AO RELENTO scene machines exhibition exposição de máquinas de cena Vale dos Barris Apartado 152 2950 Palmela [email protected] www.obando.pt 21 233 68 50 AO RELENTO scene machines exhibition COME AND TAKE AN OPEN AIR WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF SERRA DO LOURO, WHERE YOUR PATH WILL LEAD TO MEMORIES AND LANDSCAPES, OBJECTS AND SENSATIONS THAT CROSS AND HAVE CROSSED THE JOURNEY OF What to do with the old pieces that we stubbornly keep on saving in our attic, so that no one can see them? What to do with the costumes and scenic machinery that are rotting, locked in warehouses that can’t be visited? By trying to answer these questions, we thought that time eats up the shape and texture until total annihilation, but it also gives them the quality that only time can give; and that, by exhibiting this degradation, we would be praising the beauty which the inexorable process of ageing can have. The intention wasn’t to make an exhibition that would attempt to conserve the work in its apparent inertia, because permanency is always transient. On the contrary, we would make even more visible the impact of the sun, the rain and the different seasons. We would subject the work to the risk of being stolen, attacked or bitten by the flocks of sheep that often pass by. In this way, even the unspeakable remnants of memory would be transformed into a living thing in permanent actualisation. These old objects wouldn’t be another nostalgic projection of the past, but would construct themselves as a tender support of the present. exposição de máquinas de cena VENHA PASSEAR AO AR LIVRE NA ENCOSTA DA SERRA DO LOURO, ONDE SE DESENVOLVE UM PERCURSO POR MEMÓRIAS E PAISAGENS, POR OBJECTOS E SENSAÇÕES QUE ATRAVESSAM E ATRAVESSARAM O TRAJECTO DO O que fazer da tralha que vamos teimosamente guardando nos sótãos para mais ninguém ver?
