Nach Jahren steht der 15jährige Sebastian plötzlich bei
seinem Vater Marcel vor der Tür. Seine
hochschwangere Mutter will mit ihm ins Berliner
Vorstadtidyll zu ihrem dynamischen Westfreund ziehen.
Entschlossen flüchtet Sebastian und sucht nun
Unterschlupf in der heruntergekommenen Wohnung
seines Vaters im Prenzlauer Berg. Doch der arbeitslose
Countryfan hat seine ganz eigenen Probleme. Nachdem
es im „Elektrobusiness“ mit seinem Laden den Bach
runter ging, ist er erfolglos auf Arbeitssuche im
Securitygeschäft. Als Sebastian merkt, dass es seinem
Vater vor allem an der richtigen Strategie in punkto
erfolgreicher Bewerbung mangelt, springt er kurzerhand
als Bewerbungscoach ein. Widerspenstig nimmt Marcel
die altklugen Ratschläge seines Sohnes an und die
beiden entwickeln sich zu einem kameradschaftlichen
Team. Das besondere Verhältnis zwischen Vater und
Sohn wird jedoch auf eine Probe gestellt, als Sebastian
seinem Vater die schöne Nora vorstellt.
Marcel Werner always has a lot to say, either as an
unemployed expert for security and taste in all its forms
or as a sympathetic dreamer and pub philosopher. He
has a penchant for Berlin pre re- unification real socialist
country- music. He is also the father of a son, who has
been solely brought up by, and lives with, his mother.
Suddenly one day his son Sebastian is standing in front
of the door. The fifteen year old Sebastian has decided
to seek refuge because he is not being treated like an
adult at home. He finds himself in the role of the tutor, a
rather unusual father and son role reversal: Sebastian
explains to his father new spelling methods and coaches
him for job interviews, while Marcel laments endlessly
about personal security strategies and cooks Ravioli out
of a tin.
The father son relationship is revived again, however
they will be confronted by a hard test, as Sebastian’s
girlfriend, Nora wants to meet this "new" father.
