NOTICE TO THE MARKET
São Paulo, January 24, 2008 – Satipel Industrial (Bovespa: SATI3), leader of the
Brazilian MDP (Medium Density Particleboard) market, pursuant to article 12 of CVM
Instruction 358 of January 3, 2002, attaches the letter sent by Credit Suisse Hedging
Griffo C. V. S.A., informing it of the acquisition of a relevant stake, corresponding to 5.01%
of the Company’s common shares.

1830, Torre IV, 7º andar, hereby informs the market that, pursuant to article 12 of CVM Instruction
358/02, its investment funds, managed portfolios and non-resident investors legally represented by this
Institution reached a 5.01% stake in Satipel Industrial S.A., holding 5,494,600 common shares
corresponding to 5.01% of this class of shares issued by said Company. It also announces it has not
entered into any agreement or contracts regulating voting rights or the purchase of securities issued by
the company.
