and described the services
provided to our community.
The Bedford Center is the
only adult day health care in
the area and always has a
waiting list for services.
This center provides much
needed respite care for family members caring for adults with special needs
such as dementia or Alzheimers. The Center is
State licensed and has an RN, physical and occupational therapists, speech therapists, nutritionist
and a pharmacist working with the clients on a
regular basis.

HONORARY MEMBERS
Reddie Prewett
Brett Vernon drew a clear marble this week.
Lindy Wille from the noon Rotary Club visited with us this morning to talk about
a potential joint meeting for Antioch, Delta, Brentwood and Pittsburg on Monday,
March 16th, 2009 at noon. This means we would NOT meet Wednesday morning on March 18th. The joint meeting will be held at Lone Tree with a special
guest speaker, fellow Rotarian Dr. Jorge Pardita from the Aurora, Illinois Sunrise
Club. Dr. Pardita’s topic will be “Culture, Knowledge and Power—Rotary’s Role
in Creating a Global Community.” Dr. Pardita will also be speaking to faculty,
staff and community at LMC later that day. The LMC Foundation is hosting Dr.
Pardita, however, they are asking each Rotary Club for a $125 donation to help
defray costs. This item will be on the board agenda for February 24th.
Lonnie Karste, Brett Vernon, Martha
Goralka, Jeff Warrenburg and Jim Lanter
met to review income and expenses and develop a club budget for 09-10. A finalized
budget will be adopted by the board and then
brought to the membership for review.
