Studentenwerk Leipzig is your partner in organizing
everyday student life!
We are responsible for all students of Leipzig’s nine universities
and academies. Being a service provider with a social mission,
we are providing economic and social services in order for your
studies to succeed!
No matter which of Leipzig’s universities or academies you are
attending, you can make use of all of our student restaurants
& cafeterias; one of them is bound to be near you! All the
student restaurants offer a fine selection of lunch meals, at
least one of which is a vegetarian meal. At the cafeterias, you
can not only meet for lunch but also for breakfast or for a coffee
break. The student restaurant at the Park (Mensa am Park)
offers the greatest variety and is open all day until the evening
from Monday to Thursday during the lecture period as well as
on Saturdays at lunchtime.
You want to quickly and easily find a room in a flat share?
Our student halls of residence offer housing space for more
than 5000 students. All halls of residence can be easily reached
by bus and tram. Prices for rent already include all utility costs
for electricity, water, waste disposal, television and much more
– there are no additional charges at the end of the year!

We are also responsible for helping you finance your studies
in accordance with BAföG (German Federal Education and
Training Assistance Act). Studentenwerk Leipzig offers
various counselling services regarding BAföG funding and
other issues important for students. Students in special
circumstances, such as students with child(ren), students
from a different country and students with an impairment,
will receive special support.
Furthermore, Studentenwerk Leipzig is offering miscellaneous
services: we run a job placement service, arrange for students
to be mobile by means of the semester ticket and do-it-yourself bicycle repair shops and support cultural leisure activities
as a balance for studying by means of cultural funding.
