Facto suficiente para se tornar uma pessoa com muita mágoa e com um coração á prova de bala, digo do Amor!
Mas uma insistente Maggie O'Brien, consegue faze-lo acreditar que afinal é possivel ter uma vida feliz em familia.
Não fiquei propriamente sem folego ou surpreendida a ler esta historia, mas acabou por ser agradável.
|I was bored with writing my own novel and started hunting around on my reader to find something I hadn't read
yet and found this. I thought it was going to be just another sleepy romance novel (I've hit a few of those in my
day) and I was really surprised that it wasn't. I read the entire book in less than a day.
Ryan Devaney is the oldest brother of three who was abandoned by his parents when he was nine. He and the two
that were abandoned with him had come home from school one day and his parents had cleaned out the
apartment and taken the twin kids with them. Ryan, now 32, had gotten into some trouble as a kid and living in
the foster system when this priest came to his rescue, got him back on track and is still is friend. Ryan had
emotional issues. He didn't trust anybody. He was guarded and even a little scared at times. He was a highly
successful pub owner, though.
Then along comes Maggie O'Brien. She'd had a flat tire and come into his pub looking for help. She ended up
getting a ride home from him and that's when the story really takes off. As their relationship develops, she wants

him to find his siblings and he doesn't want to for various reasons. In the meantime, she's got this big family that
really gets along well and loves each other and look out for each other. An "ideal" family. And they're including
Ryan.
Of course, there are misunderstandings, men speaking with forked tongues, women shedding tears and fighting
back or leaving, ups and downs with the whole story but it was so good.
I'd never read anything by Sherryl Woods and I was missing out. I've seen her novels in the stores and have never
even picked one up to read the back cover. Now, I'm going to read the next installment of this series.

|Uma graça de história! Bem fofa e humana, do jeito que eu gosto.
Ryan é dono de um bar irlandês, e em uma véspera do dia de Ação de Graças é incitado pelo padre, um
frequentador assíduo, a ajudar uma mocinha em dificuldades a chegar em casa. É claro que o fato da moça ser
bonitinha não influi em nada em sua decisão de bom cristão...
Maggie é uma moça decidida, ela abandonou um emprego tedioso como contadora e resolveu voltar a morar
com os pais até conseguir alguma coisa mais apropriada, e seu carro resolve quebrar bem em uma véspera
tempestuosa de feriado, quando todas as oficinas e guinchos estão fechados. Sua unica esperança é um
sorumbático dono de bar com cara de poucos amigos e um padre intrometido.
Os dois se sentem atraídos logo de inicio, e Maggie quer dar uma chance e conhecer melhor o mocinho caladão,
mas Ryan não quer dar oportunidade para conhecer ninguém. Ele se sente melhor sozinho, com os seus
fantasmas. Ele e os dois irmãos foram abandonados pelos pais, um dia eles chegaram da escola e encontram a
casa vazia e os pais e os dois irmãos menores sumidos. Os três foram levados pela assistência social e colocados
em lares adotivos separados, desde essa época que ele não vê os irmãos e sente um vazio emocional em seu
coração. Por isso ele não quer dar chance para que ninguém se aproxime novamente.
Maggie tem certeza de que Ryan é o homem da vida dela e faz de tudo para convencê-lo disso. Persegue o
coitado, acampa no seu bar, fica amiga do padre enxerido, faz trabalhos sociais na paróquia e trabalha de
garçonete de grátis nas noites de movimento. Até a família dela adere á campanha “arrume um namorado para a
Maggie” e começa a perturbar incensantemente o Ryan com convites para jantar. Mas o cabeçudo é durão e não
quer ceder!!
Nada dá certo, até que a Maggie e o Ryan entendem que o problema esta lá atras, no passado dele, e enquanto
ele não conseguir lidar com o que aconteceu os dois não terão uma chance de futuro. Isso abre um gancho para
as historias dos outros irmãos e dos pais desaparecidos. Sean, o bombeiro e irmão numero dois é o próximo livro
da série, mas ainda falta achar os outros... E lá vem mais uma série enorme pra gente correr atras! Kkkkkkkk|This
book had a good premise but I did not find the heroine likable at all. She was extraordinarily pushy and practically
demanded that the lead male tell her all about his past and troubles within ten minutes of meeting her. No matter
how much she pries into his life (unwelcomed most times) she's never in the wrong. The few times he tells her to
back off, the book treats him like some insensitive monster, completely ignoring the fact that a woman he barely
knows is trying to play psychologist every second even whenshe gets knowing that his past is a touchy subject.
she has the subtly of a bulldozer and essentially stalked him a bit.|An ok book but I just wish that Sherryl Woods
would think up different names in her books/series as it gets very confusing!
