Wir nehmen wahr und werden wahrgenommen, und irgendwo, zwischen dem einen und dem anderen, ist
die unscharfe Grenze des Privaten. Tatsache ist, dass große Fernsehproduktionsfirmen diese Lust, andere zu
beobachten, heute zum Inhalt ihrer Produktionsidee machen (Big Brother, Verkuppelungsshows, Talkshows
etc.). Aber was genau steckt dahinter? Und wie reagieren wir wirklich auf diese beiden Rollen?
Osserviamo e veniamo osservati, a cavallo del limite incerto dell’ambito privato. Di fatto i media televisivi fanno
di questa voglia di osservare il contenuto principale delle loro produzioni (Grande fratello, talkshow ecc.). Ma
cosa celano esattamente? E come reagiamo veramente a questi ruoli?
We observe and are observed, always pushing the uncertain boundary of what is private. In fact, the television
media uses this eagerness to observe and turns it into programmes such as “Big Brother”, or talk shows. But what
exactly are they hiding? And how do we react to these roles?

Fernsehproduktionsfirmen diese Lust, andere zu beobachten, heute zum Inhalt ihrer
Produktionsidee machen (Big Brother, Verkuppelungsshows, Talkshows etc.). Aber was
genau steckt dahinter? Und wie reagieren wir wirklich auf diese beiden Rollen?
Die Doppelausstellung „NEUNZEHNUHRDREISSIG“ ist um all diese Fragen herum gebaut.
Sowohl Julia Gutwenigers Ölbilder, als auch Florian Koflers Videoinstallation behandeln
Einblicke in Privates. Künstlerisch gestaltete Fenster, die den Blick auf Momente des
Alltags frei geben zum einen, filmische Szenen des Alltags, die als Bestandteil und in
Gestalt eines Modellhauses die Wirklichkeit auf unser Wahrnehmen projizieren zum
anderen. Der Betrachter wird dabei immer auch zum Ausstellungsgegenstand, denn
Voyeurismus ist das Thema und verbindendes Element. Das Modell mit den acht
Wohnungen wird um den Ausstellungsraum und seine Besucher erweitert. Am Objekt,
an den Bildern und an sich selbst lassen sich damit sowohl die Neugier als auch
Voyeurismus entdecken. Und zwar selbst dort, wo man sich dem entziehen will.

Osserviamo e veniamo osservati, a cavallo del limite incerto dell’ambito privato. Di
fatto i media televisivi fanno di questa voglia di osservare il contenuto principale delle
loro produzioni (Grande fratello, talkshow ecc.). Ma cosa celano esattamente? E come
reagiamo veramente a questi ruoli?
La doppia mostra “NEUNZEHNUHRDREISSIG“, Orediciannoveetrenta, è imperniata su
questi concetti. Sia i disegni ad olio di Julia Gutweniger, che le video-installazioni di
Florian Kofler indagano questi sguardi profusi nella sfera privata. Finestre trasformate
artisticamente, che liberano lo sguardo su attimi di quotidianità, proiettando da un
lato scene cinematografiche quotidiane, dall’altro riducendo la nostra percezione
della realtà ad elemento essenziale e in forma di modellino. Lo spettatore diventa
così il protagonista della mostra, dato che il voyeurismo è il tema e l’elemento di
congiunzione. Il modello con gli otto appartamenti viene ampliato nello spazio
espositivo e grazie ai suoi visitatori. Nell’oggetto, nei quadri e in noi stessi si possono
scorgere quindi sia tratti di curiosità che forme di voyeurismo. E ciò anche in quegli
aspetti da cui vorremmo sottrarci.

how do we react to these roles?
The double exhibition “NEUNZEHNUHRDREISSIG“, seventhirtyp.m., uses this concept
as its base. Both the oil paintings by Julia Gutweniger and the video installations by
Florian Kofler examine this profuse observation of our private life. Artistically-transformed
windows provide a look at moments from everyday life, projecting cinematographic
everyday scenes on one side, and reducing our perception of reality into one
fundamental element in the form of a model on the other. The spectator thus becomes
a protagonist of the exhibition, given that voyeurism is the theme that ties it together.
The model of the 8 apartments is expanded into the exhibition space thanks to its
visitors. In the object and the paintings, as in ourselves, we can detect elements of both
curiosity and voyeurism. And therefore also in those aspects we would like to avoid.

Florian Kofler, geb 1986 in Meran, studiert zeitbasierte und interaktive Medien an
der Kunstuniversität Linz. Zahlreiche Aufträge für Theaterproduktionen, darunter mit
fabrikAZZURRO und Theater in der Altstadt Meran (“FRANZENSHEIM oder: Du kannst von
Glück reden” 2009, “Martinisommer” 2006). „8Wohnungen“ ist Teil seiner Diplomarbeit in
Linz.
Florian Kofler, nato nel 1986 a Merano, studia media digitali interattivi presso l’Univeristà
d’Arte a Linz. Diversi incarichi per produzioni teatrali, tra cui diverse collaborazioni con
fabrikAZZURRO e il Theater in der Altstadt, Merano (“FRANZENSHEIM oder: Du kannst von
Glück reden” 2009, “Martinisommer” 2006). “8Wohnungen“ (8 appartamenti) è parte
della sua tesi di laurea.
Florian Kofler, born in 1986 in Meran, studies interactive digital media at the University
of Arts in Linz. He has worked on various theatrical productions, among which
various collaborations with fabrikAZZURRO and the ‘Theater in der Altstadt’, Merano
(“FRANZENSHEIM oder: Du kannst von Glück reden” 2009, “Martinisommer” 2006).
