In “Gut Basthorst”
from the 9th - 11th of September 2016
Dear Sangha, dear lay-community and dear friends,
with a lot of joy we invite you to our Art- and Culture-Festival on the estate of “Gut
Basthorst”. Our Festival is embedded in the yearly autumn-market on Gut Basthorst. There
will be more than 150 exhibitors and daily up to 3000 visitors are expected.

On our festival over 40 large sized oil-paintings from a famous burmese artist will be
displayed. The proceeds from the sale of the paintings will support our charity project in
Myanmar.
Early next year we will build up a new school with vocational trainings centre and a healthand meditation centre on the Inle-Lake (central Myanmar). The plot of land for the two
projects has been donated already. There are existing buildings with corresponding
infrastructure.

To build the school we set up an association with the name “Mudita”, which has the task of
making the project known in Germany, promote, administer and the collect donations.
We plan on 3 days (9.-11.Sep.) a Buddhist-based culture program with the burmese, thai and
singhalese Sangha and the corresponding lay-community. The whole event will be from the
9.-18.09.16 But the main activity will be only from the 9-11.09.16. The Monks will give
dhamma talks and chanting. We invite the lay-community further to create with us together
a culture program. This should consist of traditional dance- and music-program. For more
ideas we are very open. We would be very happy if you support us to create a wonderful
Buddhist, culture event. We are still searching for helpers to organize and set up the event.

Gut Basthorst is providing with the autumn-market an excellent opportunity for us to
represent and promote the Theravada Buddhism and the Asian culture in an attractive way.
We also aim to connect the various Theravada traditions between each other with this
event.

Einladung zu unserem Kunst- und Kultur-Festival
auf Gut Basthorst
vom 9. – 11. September 2016
liebe Sangha, liebe Laiengemeinde und liebe Freunde,
wir laden Euch ganz herzlich zu unserem Kunst- und Kultur-Festival auf Gut Basthorst ein.
Unser Event ist eingebettet in den dort jährlich stattfindenden Herbstmarkt. Es werden über
150 Aussteller und täglich bis zu 3000 Besucher erwartet.

Auf unserem Festival werden über 40 großformatige Ölbilder eines bekannten burmesischen
Malers ausgestellt. Der Erlös aus dem Verkauf der Bilder kommt unserem Hilfsprojekt in
Burma zugute.
Anfang nächsten Jahres werden wir im Rahmen dieses Hilfsprojekts eine Schule, ein Berufsbildungszentrum, ein Gesundheits- und Meditationszentrum am Inle-See (Myanmar) aufbauen. Die Grundstücke hierfür sind uns bereits gespendet worden. Es stehen dort schon
einige Häuser mit der entsprechenden Infrastruktur. Nähere Informationen hierzu könnt Ihr

Für dieses Hilfsprojekt gründen wir einen Verein mit dem Namen Mudita e. V. „The joy of
sharing“, der die Aufgabe hat, das Projekt in Deutschland bekannt zu machen, zu fördern
und die gesammelten Spendengelder zu verwalten.
Wir planen an 3 Haupttagen ein buddhistisches Kulturprogramm mit der burmesischen,
thailändischen und singhalesischen Sangha und der dazugehörigen Laiengemeinde. Die
Mönche werden Dhamma-Vorträge halten und rezitieren. Wir laden die Laien-Gemeinde
dazu ein, mit uns gemeinsam ein Kulturprogramm zu erstellen. Dieses sollte aus einem
traditionellem Tanz- und Musik-Programm bestehen. Für weitere Ideen sind wir offen. Wir
würden uns freuen, wenn Ihr uns tatkräftig unterstützt. Auch für die Organisation und den

Gut Basthorst bietet mit dem Herbstmarkt eine hervorragende Plattform, um den
Theravada-Buddhismus und die asiatische Kultur auf eine ansprechende Art zu präsentieren
und damit zu fördern. Auch die Zusammenführung der verschiedenen Traditionen ist Ziel
unserer Veranstaltung.
