Verehrte Freunde des Pferdesports, liebe Aktive und Gäste,
ich freue mich, Sie im GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER zur Alpen-Adria Dressage Trophy begrüßen zu dürfen. Nach der erfolgreichen Durchführung der beiden Springreitturniere im Februar hat das Team des GHPC wieder alles daran gesetzt, um für dieses Dressurturnier beste Bedingungen zu schaffen. Einerseits für die Aktiven und ihre Pferde, damit sie sportliche Höchstleistungen
bieten können, andererseits für alle Zuschauer, um diesen edlen Sport hautnah miterleben zu können.
Die Höhepunkte des Turniers stellen der Grand Prix am Freitag, die Musikkür am Samstag und die
Gaston Glock Trophy am Sonntag dar. Abgerundet wird dieses Dressurevent durch die musikalischen
Highlights, die uns Musicalstar Uwe Kröger und Sabine Neibersch bescheren werden. Ein weiterer Höhepunkt ist am Sonntag die offizielle Scheckübergabe an „Kärntner in Not“. Es ist mir ein besonderes
Anliegen, bei jedem Turnier auch an jene Menschen zu denken, mit denen es das Leben nicht so gut
gemeint hat. Auch Sie können dabei aktiv mithelfen!
Abschließend möchte ich den Reitern viel Erfolg und den Besuchern ein unvergessliches Turnierwochenende wünschen. Genießen Sie dieses Reitsportevent im GHPC und lassen Sie sich von den edlen
Dressurpferden verzaubern!

Dear equestrian sports fans, dear riders, dear guests,
I am pleased to welcome you to the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER for the Alpen-Adria
Dressage Trophy. After our highly successful show jumping tournaments in February, the GHPC team
has once again done everything in its power to create optimal conditions for this dressage tournament, with the goal of bringing out the best in the riders and their horses on the one hand and to ensure
an unforgettable, close-up experience of this noble sport for all guests on the other.
Tournament highlights include the Grand Prix on Friday, the freestyle to music on Saturday and the
Gaston Glock Trophy on Sunday. The event will be rounded off by musical performances by acclaimed
musical stars Uwe Kröger and Sabine Neibersch. Yet another highlight is the official handover of a
cheque to “Carinthians in Need”. As part of every tournament, I want to make a difference to those
who have been less fortunate in life, and I hope you will join me in this effort.
Last, but not least, I would like to wish our riders every success and our guests an unforgettable tournament weekend. Enjoy this equestrian sports event at the GHPC and open yourself up to the magic
of these noble dressage horses!

Eine große Bedeutung in Kärnten hat der Pferdesport. Spitzenturniere mit internationalen Reitern sind Bestandteil des vielseitigen Kärntner
Sportkalenders. Bei der 3. Alpen-Adria Dressage
Trophy werden Reiter aus Österreich, Italien
und Slowenien erwartet. Dies zeigt, dass die gut
nachbarschaftlichen Beziehungen auch im Sport
ihren Niederschlag finden. Als Landeshauptmann und Sportreferent wünsche ich den Reitern

Carinthia prides itself on its role as a promoter
of equestrian sports. Top-level tournaments with
international riders are an integral part of the
multi-faceted Carinthian sports scene. The third
Alpen-Adria Dressage Trophy will bring together riders from Austria, Italy and Slovenia, proving that the good relations we maintain with our
neighbours also extend to the world of sports. As
the Governor and Sports Councillor of Carinthia, I wish all riders a successful and most of all
an accident-free tournament.

Trust, passion and delight in working with animals

sports and in life. The Alpen-Adria Dressage Trophy, a unique series of tournaments in Italy, Slovenia and Austria aims at giving younger riders
the opportunity of competing with international
riders. I would like to thank all the organisers for
their excellent job in staging this tournament. Best
of luck to all the horsemen and women – I wish you
a successful, accident-free event here at the Glock
Horse Performance Center.
As the mayor of the market town of Treffen on
the shores of Lake Ossiach, I am delighted that
the Alpen-Adria Dressage Trophy will take place

Highlight of the tournament
Die „Gaston Glock Trophy“
Pferdefreund und Hausherr des GHPC, Gaston Glock schätzt den Dressursport und hat sich daher
entschlossen, die „Gaston Glock Trophy“ ins Leben zu rufen. Bei diesem Rechenbewerb werden die
Ergebnisse aus den Bewerben 8, 18 und 26 – drei Dressurprüfungen der Klasse S – zusammengezählt.
Das große Finale findet am Sonntag statt. Auf die Teilnehmer wartet ein Preisgeld von insgesamt
rund 3.000,- Euro.

Die „Gaston Glock Trophy“
To show his respect for dressage, Gaston Glock, horse lover and host of the GHPC,
has decided to found the “Gaston Glock Trophy”, a score-based competition
adding the results from competitions 8, 18 and 26, three Class S dressage tests.
The great finale will take place on Sunday. Participants will be competing for
prize money totalling 3,000 Euros.

Dressur in aller Kürze
A short introduction to dressage
Eleganz auf 20 x 60 Metern:
20 x 60 m (bzw. 20 x 40 m) sind die Abmessungen
des Dressurvierecks. In jedem Bewerb wird eine
spezielle Dressuraufgabe geritten, die aus mehreren Lektionen besteht. Je nach Reglement wird die
Aufgabe auswendig oder auf Ansage geritten.
Im Häuschen: Die Richter
Direkt am Viereck nehmen die Richter Platz. Die
Noten, die sie vergeben können, reichen von 0

Wann ist es Perfektion?
Ganz selten! Ein gutes Indiz: Pferd und Reiter
kommunizieren scheinbar unsichtbar miteinander!
Ist es eine Freude dem Paar zuzusehen, weil ihre
Vorstellung durch Anmut, Eleganz und Leichtigkeit geprägt ist, weil beide frei und ohne Zwang
agieren, dann darf man ruhig applaudieren...
Lasst die Pferde tanzen!
Bei der Musikkür darf der Reiter selber einteilen,
in welcher Reihenfolge er die vorgeschriebenen
Lektionen zeigt. Das hat den Vorteil, dass man
Musik und Reiterei aufeinander abstimmen kann
– wie beim Tanzen! Die Richter bewerten bei der
Musikkür auch den künstlerischen, choreografischen und technischen Wert.

Elegance on 20x60 metres:
20x60m (or 20x40m) are the dimensions of the
dressage arena. Each test aims at assessing specific dressage sequences in several blocks. Depending on the rules of the tournament, riders
will complete these movements by rote or on
command.
When is it perfect?
Hardly ever! A good indication: the horse and rider seem to communicate invisibly. When watching
them is truly delightful, when the performance is
characterised by gracefulness, elegance and lightness, if it seems effortless and not in the least bit
strained – then is the time to start applauding.
In the booth: the judges!
The judges are seated around the arena and
award points from 0 (not performed) to 10 (excellent). The final score takes into account the
riders’ posture and riding aids, movement and
gait of the horse and the correct execution of the
dressage movements. The higher the class, the
more difficult the tasks.
Let the horses dance!
During the freestyle to music, the rider may decide in which sequence he or she will perform
the prescribed movements. The advantage is that
the music and the movements can be matched –
like dancing, really! With the freestyle to music,
the judges also assess the artistic, choreographic
and technical value of the performance.

eit 2009 ist er einer der ganz Großen im
internationalen Dressursport: Edward
Gal konnte bis zum Verkauf „seines“ Totilas viele herausragende Erfolge feiern, darunter die EM
2009, wo er Mannschaftsgold und im GP Special
Silber erreichen konnte. Damit nicht genug: In
der GP Kür abermals Gold mit Ergebnissen von
84,085 % (GP de Dressage) und 90,750 % (GP
Kür) stellten die beiden gleich zwei Weltrekorde
auf! Ende 2009 brachen Gal und Totilas ihren
eigenen Rekord mit dem Sieg in der Weltcupkür
in der London-Olympia Hall mit 92,300 %. Einen weiteren Weltrekord stellten Gal und Totilas
am CHIO Aachen auf. Hier gewannen sie den
GP Special des CDIO 5* mit 86,458 %. Bei den
Weltreiterspielen 2010 gewann Edward Gal und
Totilas mit den Niederlanden Gold in der Mannschaftswertung sowie Gold in der Einzelwertung
im GP Spécial und in der GP Kür.

in 2009, he joined the ranks of the great names of international dressage: Until “his”
Totilas was sold, Edward Gal celebrated many
outstanding successes with the horse, such as
the European Championship 2009, where he
won team gold and Special Silver in the GP.
But more was to come: in the GP freestyle, he
again won gold with a result of 84.085% (GP de
Dressage) and also set 2 world records! At the
end of 2009, Gal and Totilas broke their own
record with their victory in the World Cup Freestyle in the Olympia Hall in London and a score
of 92.300%. At the CHIO Aachen, Gal and Totilas set yet another world record, winning the
GP Special of the CDIO 5* with 86.458%. At
the World Equestrian Games 2010, Edward Gal
and Totilas won Gold for the Dutch team as well
as Gold in the singles for the GP Spécial and the
GP freestyle.

GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER on
16 September. How to join? As with everything
in life, skill and luck will decide. On each day of
the tournament, the day’s winners will take part
in a draw for one ticket. One more ticket per day
will be up for grabs among all other participants.
