STM Prayer Line: There is a group of parish volunteers who

HOLISTIC TOUCH is offered to parish members and those in
need of healing prayers on the third Sunday of the month. Our

p.m. in Room 101. Holistic Touch is 20 minutes of peace-filled
quiet and is one way to slow down and feel the loving presence

THE WEAVERS OF HOPE MINISTRY will be selling rugs and
other items after all Masses this weekend. This money raised

BAPTISM PREPARATION FOR CHILDREN:
CHILDREN: Our parish has a
two step process designed to help parents understand the
sacrament of baptism and to support them in their role of helping
their child to fully live the gifts received in baptism.
* For the First Step of the process, parents must meet with
one of our clergy. To schedule an appointment, please contact
Theresa Roberge at the parish office at 258-1161 or

* For the Second Step of the process, both parents and
godparents attend a Baptism Class. Baptism Classes are held
at STM on the first Sunday of each month at 2:00 p.m. Parents
can schedule a time to participate in the class during their
meeting with a priest or deacon.
* Baptisms are celebrated each Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

RCIA: Are you interested in finding out more about how
Catholics live their faith? Do you have questions about what
Catholics believe about life, death, suffering, hope, forgiveness,
love, Scripture, God? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
(RCIA) is a process to explore these and other faith issues for

THE COURAGEOUS JOURNEY
JOURNEY THROUGH GRIEF
GRIEF is a
structured bereavement process which draws on the richness of
prayer, imagery and individual reflection and healing for people
who have experienced the loss of a loved one. A new eight-week
session has begun and will continue through December 3rd. We
meet on Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the STM Library.

ALL SAINTS DAY which celebrates the
glories of heaven and all who are there is a
Holy Day of Obligation. Mass will be
celebrated on Thursday, November 1st at
8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The evening's service
will start with a performance of Faure’s
Requiem at 6:30 p.m., followed by Mass. Immediately following
the evening Mass, everyone is invited to stay for a special
Vespers Service to honor all who have died, especially those
who have passed away in the last year.
Parishioners who lost family members whose funerals were
held somewhere other than St. Thomas More in the last year, are
asked to contact Sue Stremel at [email protected] or 2581161, ext. 225 so that the names of those loved ones can be
included in the Vespers Service. Please provide the name and
date of death. You are invited to bring a photo or memento of
those who died within the past year that can be set in a place of
honor during the service.
We will once again have our memorial walls in the Narthex of
the church during the month of November. You are welcome to
add the names and/or photos of deceased family and friends to
our walls to be prayed for by our St. Thomas More faith family.

KIDS CARING & SHARING
SHARING: For the week of September 30th
an amazing 32 young parishioners brought an envelope to Mass!
These donations, along with the loose money donated, totaled
$275. There were so many incredible offerings of time and
talent. Some of them included: "saving my brother in the lake",
"learning more about God", "making pancakes", and many listed
different ways of being a great friend. Quote for the week:

impossible, but not for God: because for God everything is
possible." - Matthew 10:27
September Charities: Eagles Wings Retreat Center & The
Backpack Program will each receive a check for $750.00.
Thank you to all the children who contributed to these charities they both are very appreciative of the donations!
October Charity: Multiple Sclerosis - MS is an autoimmune
disease that affects over 400,000 Americans, the majority of
them women, and usually strikes between the ages of 20 to 50
years. It affects the central nervous system and the ability to
conduct impulses to and from the brain. Systems come and go
over the years and include difficulty with vision, balance,
walking, numbness and fatigue.
THE STM LIBRARY will be conducting a training session for
all Volunteers which include weekday helpers, weekend library
hosts, and Religious Education volunteers. The training is
Sunday, October 14th from 1:45 to 3:00 p.m. in the STM
Library. Anyone interested in joining the Library Ministry is
welcomed to attend as well. Save the Date – our next Book Fair
will be the weekend of November 10th & 11th .

** Faith-N-Films – “October Baby”: The Faith
N Films Ministry invites you to attend the showing
of “October Baby” on Friday, October 19th at
6:30 p.m. in Brennan. Snacks will be served and

Baby” is a coming of age story of Hannah, a
beautiful 19 year old college freshman. When she
discovers she was adopted it comes as a shock, because she was
the survivor of a failed abortion. Desperate for answers, she
embarks on a road trip to find her biological mother. In the
process she unexpectedly discovers hope, love and forgiveness.
** Biblical Walk through the Mass: In this DVD series,
Edward Sri takes the viewer on an exciting tour of the liturgy.
Based on the revised translation of the Mass, it explores the
biblical roots of the words and gestures we experience in Mass

Through the Bible parables, Jesus reveals who he is and how we

Our Baby Bank Fundraiser continues throughout the month of
October. If you did not get a baby bank, please stop by our
tables outside weekend Masses to pick one up. Please return
them any weekend during October at the Respect Life Ministry
table. Spend some time with your family helping to foster a
greater respect for the sanctity of human life. This annual fund
raiser benefits the STM Respect Life Ministry and the Diocese
Office of Pro-Life Activities and Chaste Living equally.
The Gospel of Life: We are studying the Gospel of Life
(Evangelium Vitae) at our monthly meetings (the third Thursday
of Every Month) - books are provided. Our next meeting is
October 18th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 103.
Praying Outside an Abortion Clinic: The Respect Life
Ministry invites you to join us the last Saturday of each month
from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Adoration at STM and then from
10:00 to 11:00 a.m. for our monthly peaceful prayer appearance
outside the abortion clinic nearest to STM. It is International
Healthcare Solutions at 9805 Anderson Mill Rd. The next
peaceful prayer appearance will be Saturday, October 27th. In
November, we are starting the 2nd peaceful prayer appearance
outside the abortion clinic on the 2nd Saturday of every month
from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
The Gabriel Project is a parish-based apostolate that reaches
out to pregnant women in need. Through the Gabriel Project,
mothers facing a crisis pregnancy can receive spiritual, material,

OPENING: St. Thomas More is
hiring a part-time Outreach Coordinator. This person will
work in collaboration with parishioners and staff to develop and
enrich Pastoral Care and Social Outreach Ministries as St.
Thomas More. Job duties include:
* Collaborating with ministry leaders to help the parish
community continue to grow in understanding and living
Catholic Social Teaching.
* Guiding our parish response to pastoral care needs, such as
coordinating pastoral support for Eucharistic Ministers to the
Sick and Homebound.
* Providing ongoing formation and training for leaders and
volunteers in Outreach Ministries.
